    "Inside looking out"live 1970 is a great tune you will love it. They opened for Led Zeppelin and Zeppelin's manager didn't want them to open for them because the crowd was so into Grant funks music ✌

    Captain/Closer to my Home is a MUST. The group showed up at the recording studio with nothing to record. They were giving a few hours to come up with something and this masterpiece was written.

    Before they became mainstream, they were known as Grand Funk Railroad. Try their song called I'm Your Captain (Closer To Home) album version. You will both like!

    "The hotel detective was out of sight" is a colloquialism for he was really cool.
    I grew up with the band. They're from my hometown of Flint, Michigan. I went to school with Craig Frost's (keyboards) brothers, Scott and Jason. Scott was a badass keyboard player (RIP) with whom I played for several years. I was a pro for several years in part due to their influence on me as early as ten years old when I would watch them rehearsing in a neighbor's basement before they became famous.
    A little trivia. The Beatles sold out Shea Stadium in six weeks. Grand Funk did it in 72 hours - a record to this day! GFR - THE American band...!

    Grand Funk started what is now known as a power trio... a bass, drummer, lead guitar/keyboard. Truly classic rock in every sense of the word. Check out I'm Your Captain/Closer to Home. Great music.

    I have heard of this band but I've never really listened to their music - more fool me!! It was brilliant and I loved the guitar solo - wow! The whole song was great actually so must look out for them on RUclips - where else?? I also loved the beat and whole vibe of the song - really good.     This was one of the best just plain rock bands of all time. If there was a softer side of plain rock bands, it would be Three Dog Night. Just plain bands that were appealing and had a lot of consistent hits.

    GrandFunk Railroad is legendary, you gotta check more of then like : I'm your captain, Some kind of Wonderful, The loco-motion (I'm sure you've heard this one), Inside looking out, Gimme Shelter (that indeed The Rolling Stones covered) , Bad Time and Heartbreaker!!!
    Oh and don't forget "We gotta get out of this place"! Alot of famous songs came from this awesome band.

    Heartbreaker, Foot Stompin Music and I’m your Captain are some really good songs of theirs. These guys were so good in concert that Led Zepplins manager fired them from being the opening act for Zepplin because he didn’t want them taking away from Zepplin show. They were great in concert!!!
