I love that they have Peter and the wolf, it’s interesting seeing storybook boats with no cast member narrating
Love it too. Now Peter and the Wolf is gonna be replaced by Frozen because of the bad state it's in now. The snow is looking a little cracked and such. They're busy with the renovations now. Hansel and Gretel is gonna be replaced by Winnie the Pooh. It's sad to see it go, but I understand. At least, we have this video to remember what it was.

This is so beautiful! I would love to visit Disneyland Paris some day. The Disneyland has a place in my heart but I'd love to see a new 'form of the magic.'
マイナー作品も多くあって、ファンとしては十分嬉しいけど、室内のアトラクションならもっと良かったと思う。

I really like the original one better. It's nice to have someone tell you about each little area, and I *still* get freaked out when you pass through Monstro's mouth! Though, I will admit that it's pretty cool to go through the Cave of Wonders.

Loved this ride on my only time to DLP. The omnimover boats were fascinating and the tiny figurines and overall-fairytales theming instead of solely Disney was unique and interesting. It also caught me off-guard originally to hear Main Street Electrical Parade soundtracks as part of the Oz scene but since it was an Oz-related music snippet it was fitting, lol.
I prefer Disneyland as I love the story telling of the cast members on the boats. It was one of my favourite rides as a kid and still is. The jokes and puns are fun too ;)
I also think it looks cleaner and more magical and has more scenes, but that may be my nostalgia. It's also sooo magical at night

This is another great example of the challenge Disneyland Paris faces: the lack of a unifying, single language for the Park. Several comments have noted the lack of a tour guide (as is found at the original Anaheim Park). But speaking in what language? French (after all, it's Disneyland Paris)? English? German? Italian? Spanish? As it is, it's already a bi-lingual park, with EVERYTHING in French and English. You'll notice there's also no narrator on the Paris version of the Haunted Mansion - which - in terms of "telling a story" - is a real loss. That's probably why there's also no Jungle Cruise (cold European winters aside). The lack of a single, unifying language is a challenge that most Americans can't fully appreciate.

Loved that they includes Beauty and the Beast ... I mean it is France, duh! But why so much hate? It's so beautiful and I think Anaheim missed out on a lot of stories here...

I prefer the original Disneyland ride with the tour guides.. makes the ride more magical when someone talks about the different dioramas.. :-)

Yukosan13 Problem is, in Paris, they struggle with language because a lot of the visitors don't speak French, but at the same time they can't have it only in English because well, we're in Paris hahaha. I'm pretty sure that's why they didn't do that

ride could do with a good clean and a bit of an update (peter & the wolf/ rerurn to oz scenes replacing) and something added in the cave of wonders.
They have the lamp and Abu stealing a gem in the cave of wonders. You can't see it because of where the camera person is sitting.

@@sydneyalmanza2768 there is something in the cave of wonders just this guy didn't bother to film it (watch the guy in the boat in front point it out to people in his boat) , the same way he missed a lot of other things case in point Beauty and the beast he zoomed in on belle on the fountain yet didn't bother to zoom out or look up above the village to see the castle. There is something the opposite side of snow white he didn't cover it, you barely manage to see the tower from Tangled which is behind snow white scene.

These boats look so much more comfortable than the ones in Anaheim
I prefer the original in Anaheim. Not only does having a tour guide help when you aren't sure about what one of the dioramas is or don't recognize it (like the last one. What was that supposed to be?) but also the boats move a lot slower so you can actually take the time to really look at eat of the little displays instead of feeling like you've been rushed through. Also, I know that with that loading style they have in France I would wind up falling flat on my ass &/or into the water somehow. To me the load style in California is way easier/safer.
This version looks more automated than the California park. If you look in the water as it goes the boats are drawn through on a continuous cable. You can even see the cable guide wheels in the water. This might explain no tour guides. If I'm not mistaken the tour guides control the boat.
ohdogwow2 Yeah. The tour guides turn a little knob that controls the speed of the boat and makes it move. I think the reason they don't have any tour guides at this one is to avoid any language barrier. There isn't that problem at the one here in California because 90% of the people who visit our park understand enough English for it to not be an issue. I still prefer having a tour guide because they can kind of personalize some parts of it and make it a bit more fun (like the one on Monday when I was there who made a few more grown up improvisations because there were only adults on the boat I was in) kind of like the Jungle Cruise skippers.

The last one's from Oz the Great and Powerful. And it has received its fair share of criticism for being there, deservedly so. I hope this ride is removed in some future Fantasyland expansion. It just looks silly now. It works in Anaheim because of its classic feel, but for other parks I'd prefer a modern take like what Shanghai Disneyland did with it.
+IPD VB Thanks! I don't know why Disney would include that in the ride when the movie was a total flop! Like I watched the movie a little while after it first came out (only because of the amazing costumes) but I didn't really pay attention (James Franco is super distracting and not in a good way) and I haven't watched it since because it was horrible (my brother's middle school play of the Wizard of Oz was better). And I don't think it should be removed entirely. I think it just need to be improved. Maybe if they change some of the displays and make the boats move slower or add some type of narration it would be way better.

Even though this is cute and I know I would totally love going on it, I do prefer the original. But it's nice other people that don't live near Disneyland can enjoy it too.

Is that supposed to be The Night on Bald Mountain segment from Fantasia @ 2:14? Why is Chernabog sitting on top of a tower, in the segment he is actually the top of a mountain.
Rapunzel's tower is also above Snow White's scene, and it should be down kind of in a canyony type place...so I think they were just going for whatever they felt like. ;)

I like the version with the tour guides in Disneyland. That’s the only saving grace for this ride besides the nostalgia from riding it as a kid. The boat guides would often be funny and like to interact with people. Plus they operate the gas of the boat too which makes it more personalized.

I wish Paris would have tour guides, yet again, I enjoy the little booklets placed nearby the dioramas. But for certain praise the use Fantasia segments like Nightmare on Bald Mountain, and a silly symphony such as Peter and the Wolf. I appraise that and wish Disneyland California would have some of those. But one thing I find rather pointless is the Emerald City at the end. Besides "Oz the Great and Powerful" (In in my opinion not that memorable of a movie), Wizard of Oz is not belonging under the title of Disney but Warner Bros. . I feel they could have chosen something more recognizable to the Disney name like Pride Rock from the Lion King or Sleepy Hollow/Toad Hall from The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and the Wind in the Willows (in Disneyland CA). I just feel it could have been more memorable. All in all, I feel this ride could be enjoyable still.♡
The Emerald City at the end of the ride is actually from the Disney movie Return to Oz. But I agree, it's pretty weird to have it there. Doesn't seem to fit or flow.

I know all fairytales in this ride except for one... It´s the fairytale that shows a little village with some huge bat thing on top of a tower. It´s right before the boat enters the cave of wonders... Anyone here who knows what fairytale it is?
