Wow, that was a nice comparison of the brands. I ordered the Pro-form sliding bench trainer and is schedule to arrive 5 days from today. I do agree the Total Gym offers a great deal of versatility with the different attachment available which by the way, increases the price for a Total Gym. Since this is my first purchase of a sliding bench trainer I decided to go with the Pro-form brand and see how the slide bench trainer experience will be. I will use it as part of my circuit training and as a stand alone on workout on different days of the week. Thanks for the video and will check out your channel for workout routines in the very near future.
I've bought one of these (Pro-form) in Aug 2023. It has crazy noisy squeaks on both sides with any exercise that uses the handles. I didn't have this problem with my Total Body Works 5000. (Edit) The reason turned out to be that the rotating part of the pulleys is plastic, and it rubs against the metal. Maybe they usually put a little lubricant on them. They didn't on this one. I was able to stop the squeaking by spraying silicone lubricant between the plastic and metal on the pulleys. I suggest using one of the brands with the little tube so that you can target the area without getting lubricant on everything else. The bench rollers have no problem and are very quiet and smooth.
I ended up purchasing the Apex G1 since it was in my price range and the option to add upgrades later was a huge selling point. The squat stand is my next purchase for this. I’m a week into owning and have used it every day so far. This machine is definitely Slept on In the fitness world 👌 💪
I bought a total gym xtreme model. I think I paid about $400 on Amazon for it about six months ago. I use regularly and it’s great. Only flaw is it does not come with holes for external weight bar, but at my level that’s ok. Thanks for the videos, I really enjoy them and learn from them. Can I make a request? You always seem to have perfect form. Maybe something teaching some of the exercises and good form? Sorry if I missed one of those earlier on.
I know a lot of people love the extreme model. Thanks for the compliments and request. I made a beginner guide video that goes over some of the major form issues, but you're right, I should do more form videos. Thanks for that request.
That's the biggest difference I found between the bayou total trainer and the total gym I got, it's solid and built like a tank so bit more hefty to manoeuvre around. Cheers for shoulder workout, the muscle connection is brilliant 👌

The older UBW is very easy to change levels, looks like the Proform is a longer process.

Yes they will. I’d just recommend the swivel and extra carabiners like I mentioned in that video.
