Wow, this is the best video clip I've seen of them playing Mainline! Always loved watching that song live, 'cause it's too damn short on the album! Rest in Peace, Sonny. ZEKE was never the same without you.
As many other have mentioned, there isn't anyone else like Zeke. Probably saw them 10 times over the course of their career and it is always incredible. Getting to smoke joints with them in New Orleans is a punk rock highlight for me. Thank you for posting this video.
@@jedhatcher252 hi. My time with Zeke was 1998/1999, and from what else I know, I think he has been sober since at least 2003 or 2004, when I once again offer a doobie and it was refused. Whatever the case, glad that they are all feeling better and putting out music. And if memory serves correct, Diamond Jeff has an Grammy from being in High on Fire, which makes me giggle.
Drunkenly singing "Twisted" almost got me kicked out of a cab once. ONCE. This was back in the 1900s. You could take a date out for, like, $20. I'm talking drinks ($5 12pk Old Mil), a punk rock show ($6; "3 bands for $3") and a cab ($7 fare/$2 tip). You always left home with a couple quarters in your pocket for pay phone calls. And we howled at the moon to let the neighbors know we made it back home.
I’ve been trying to start a band like this, it’s hard to find rockers that play this fast without going metal. Sometimes this comes close to being hardcore, it’s speedrock! Wish me lunk.
this kinda punk was so much better than 90s hardcore...those kids would hate the rock and roll element in Zeke, raw recordings...thank the Dwarves for making 90s underground "garage" punk dangerous and fun again.
It's called punk n roll or speedrock. The facebook group "respect the action rock" or any speed rock or fistful of rock group is were all the people are Some of the best bands Turbonegro Peter pan speedrock Speedealer Electric frankenstein The dangerfields Puffball
Saw them at, I think, the same store, but a year or two earlier with Mark Pierce on bass. I have seen them many times since, and they remain my favorite band. Unapproachable.
This recording is right around the time I saw them for the first time. I just saw them a few weeks ago with Jeff filling in on bass. They are babies here. Absolute shredders!
Questa band avrebbe meritato d'essere molto più conosciuta. In Europa ne ho sentito parlare pochissimo, anzi per nulla, li ho sentiti in un documentario sui Nirvana. Per me meglio tardi che mai....
zeke is the best punk band for me. greetings from Argentina. And his latest album is the craziest thing I ever heard. I love this band.

I thought the singer has been clean and sober for over 20 years now?

any luck?
Lol oh hail no! I’ve been trying for a while, but the music situation here is lacking. I guess fast n loud is dead in Detroit.
