- We closed on a "new to us" Hunter 40.5 Legend last week. We still have our MacGregor 26 as well. This video documents our trip from Merritt Island to St. Augustine over two days, stopping in New Smyrna half way.
The bridges are 65ft, while some were at 63ft to 64ft. Our mast is 63.5ft. We had to wait until low tide on the last bridge. The antenna above the mast slightly rubbed on two of the bridges. We used the drone to determine if we could make it. Luckily we know now what we can fit under!
Wind was against us pretty much the whole time, but that's how it goes when you're on a schedule.
Then we hauled it out in St. Augustine in preparation for Hurricane Dorian. Fingers crossed. We'll report back as soon as it's safe to get back to the boat.
Very nice ! It's nice to see a new Vlog with a boat like ours. Looking forward for more videos.
We are sitting on tons of footage from Bimini, Berry Islands, and the Abacos on the MacGregor 26X. Just need to find the time to edit it all!
Congrats!
Thank you, we are very excited to get it out and do more videos with it.
I have a 26X as well and probably need to replace the current 50hp 2 stroke outboard (problems with the oil injection system and smelly/noisy) with a 25hp 4stroke. I would have considered a 50hp Honda ,but since I am looking into acquiring a 32-35’ sailboat in the future I prefer to keep the engine replacement costs to a minimum. The thought that You made a few gulf crossings on a 25hp 26x shows that 25hp is more than sufficient. During the 7 year ownership of my 26x I have only planed the boat once.
Nice boat. Stay safe.🌀
Thank you! Hurricane Dorian is passing by tonight/tomorrow morning in St Augustine, so fingers crossed! It's looking optimistic as it looks like it will be offshore.
Keep up the videos! Just found you and they are great
Thank you!!
nice video murph! Cheers
Thank you, just watched your channel and subscribed! :)
@@SailingwiththeMurph Well thank you! Fair winds and following seas friend
Nice video. I hope you I get to watch more of your MacGregor videos. That's a fun little boat. What camera are you using?
Still have the Mac?
