Tbh I didn’t think he’d be as successful as he is now post the OC. To be the lead for Gotham is huge. Like Ryan, Ben seems to be smart and hardworking.

I started watching this over from season 1 during lockdown, brings back memories, I knew Benjamin would be come successful years on
The 4th season was way too different. The whole dynamic changed, not just because of Marissa gone. They tried to fill her shoes too quick. But other characters were also notably gone. Marisa’s dad. Kirsten’s sister. They should have brought back some earlier characters to stabilize some of the loss. Not just for one episode, but for a few. Maybe Ryan’s old girlfriends or Luke.

I wish they hadn't done that, and I wish Marissa would have stayed. They kept trying to throw storylines at the audience instead of continuing what they did
I loved season 4 couldn’t stand Marissa so it was definite better, my favourite was Taylor Townsend she was miles better for Ryan.
Season 1 and 2 are excellent but after season 2 it all started to go downhill I didn't like season 3 too much and season 4 was a complete dumpster fire.
I wouldn’t say season 4 was a complete loss but it was too drastically different. Yes, they graduated so it wanted to show how things change but the draw of the show was that this family had formed under unique obstacles ( family is not just who you are born into but who you choose) not enough of Seth and Ryan ( they weren’t just brothers but closer ) they would have found more time. The creators were distracted and not so committed to the show, and the show suffered. It became the Taylor Townsend show. She had way too much screen time. And Marisa’s little sister was kind of depressing. Not at all like the cute little girl in season one who just vanished from the show but was sharp witted and a mini Julie.

I grow up with this show and Something That I still love about this show is that besides all the every-single-episode-events, the characters are real so you can relate with them. And maintained a cool way to show a point without all the distortion of language that is everywhere now days with no respect at all. So if there’s ever a new show like this plz honour this great project and use the correct amount of expression words in the line.

Exactly. There was a joke about Taylor being included as part of them before Marisa was gone. Obviously the plan was set but it was a bad move killing her off.

Wouldn't change anything about the show. I think it ran it's course and if it went any longer than 4 seasons, it wouldn't have had such a lasting impact like it has. Season 4 was different but it also brought back a lot of the humour that the show had lost during the third season. Best show ever!

Great show, just watched it this past month, all 4 seasons. Loved the first 3, but the last season was too rushed. It was hard to get emotionally invested in the characters, the way it was during the first 3 seasons. They glossed over Marissa’s death and moved forward too quickly, not that they should have dwelled over it. Oh well, it was what it was.
Very heavy episode that involved grief for the other characters but not adequate enough Time for the viewers to also deal.
Yes I could not relate to the fourth season. It was like another show. But admittedly they were running out of content and thr plot twist and turns were so unbelieveable. I think they should have ended it up to the final scene before Micha Barton gets killed.

killing Marissa was a terrible mistake. Too dramatic for a teen show and it changed dramatically season 4. They should have just sent her to Hawaii with her dad.

Funny part is you can see in how he talks and stuff what parts of himself he added to the character like when he stutters in the video its exactly how he studders in the show. His mouth even hangs open the same way. Its almost like he took the role and just played another version of himself.

They skipped over some very big moments going to the next season, people in later stages of grief, not the horrible first stages. Could have been done much better. But he probably didn’t know how much they were skipping over.
That last season of The OC was horrendous! Actually, only seasons one and two were any good!

We really don't know what happened behind the scenes. Mischa sadly did not turn up much different from Marissa in real life too. Drinking, drugs, drama, too many hookups etc., At some point, people should take responsibility in their own hands and stop blaming the world for their failures.
Mischa was a talented and gorgeous person but she is also responsible for her downfall. Very sad for her, she had great potential to be a big star and if she had continued, maybe OC would have run for 7 to 8 seasons.
@@critical_analysis The show had been declining in popularity even before she left. It's widely noted that past the first season, the show never quite retained the same momentum it had from then on, even with the finale of season 2 inspiring the now famous Lonely Island skit on SNL. I love the show, but it had been falling out of popularity even before they killed off Marissa.

S4 was so boring. No drama at all. Marissa was annoying but she brought all the drama. I would of loved to see her grow and mature. I hated Ryan and Taylor, such a cringy relationship, so forced . I don’t understand how people like Taylor. She iis so annoying. S4 lacks drama. At least we got summer and Seth’s wedding
