Use THIS Free AI + GIMP Trick to Remove Image Backgrounds In SECONDS

- Опубликовано: 14 июл 2024
- In this tutorial I show you how to quickly and effectively REMOVE image backgrounds using a combination of free AI tools and GIMP. The result allows you to fully remove backgrounds on high definition images without needing to pay for the premium version of Clipdrop - an AI tool by Stability.ai.
Most AI background removers charge a fee for background removal on a full-sized HD image, but by using this method along with GIMP you can get the same results for FREE on a full resolution image.
Clipdrop is owned by a company called Init ML, which was acquired by Stability.ai (the artificial intelligence company that owns and runs Stable Diffusion).

At first, I thought this would be "Remove background online" kind of video, but the last few minutes proved me wrong. Thanks for the video. I've been using GIMP for a long time, and it will help me for sure.
I thought you were going to keep the low res version... Very cool you just stole the mask...😂❤
“Borrowed”
@@DaviesMediaDesign Yeah, That's what I meant.. Of course😃 Borrowed for creative purposes only👍😜
this is the same method that i use everyday, Gimp selection tools are good but for removing BGs especially messy hair people on photos are lot easier with a 3rd party site. Thanks Michael.
Great way to overcome the ,limitation of the FREE version of the AI tool! BRILLIANT!!
This is awesome!! I didn't even use Gimp in the end. Saved me so much time. I really appreciate you posting this video.
Man, haven't seen it yet, but believe me or not I was waiting this day. GIMP gets some open-source AI plugin and everything will become more beautiful. TY for your work🙏
Davie, you the MAN!!
Thank you, my brother. You put light in my life. God bless you.
What a great work around limitation of AI. Excellent.
Awesome. This was the one I was looking for

Thank's for this video. I liked it !
Hello from Belgium👋. You handled that one brilliantly. I'm gonna use that for sure. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Excellent, thanks!
I think the default windows default image viewer/editor has a background remove option and it does a pretty decent job, you can also use a brush to remove the parts the ai didn't remove.
this is a good idea. Thank you for the tip
Clever, well done 👍
Thanks!
Jesus christ thank you! How did I not think of this?
Also, I love your intro music
That's pretty clever, ty !
Work smart, not hard. Well done
I tried this and it works fine if you use the finished image in small sizes. If you wanna blow it up for a poster in 20x28" or larger, the results of this method aren't good enough. So far, I have not found a method that is as accurate as doing it by hand using a brush and layer mask.
thank you friend!👏👏
That'S great - thank you.
Very very cool, I like that
Thanks Michael!
Very useful, thank-you
Happy to help!
גאוני ❤
genius 😊
Pretty nifty work around.
Thank you
Nice trick! 👍😎
Thanks 👍
Once I saw you repping UCF in your videos I knew I had to sub/buy your GIMP program. It's gameday!!!
LFG GKCO!!
@DaviesMediaDesign not kidding, I am still taking the class but you have helped dramatically and I've been posting a bunch of UCF images on twitter using your tips/strategies. I truly appreciate it.
Thank you @Davies Media Design for all the great work. Can you share with a beginner how to round just one corner of a rectangle in Gimp?
Thanks Davy
clever thank you
Very good.
Thanks!
Excellent.
Thanks!
You're welcome.@@DaviesMediaDesign
cool trick!
Thanks!
Thank you for supporting the channel. Very much appreciated 🙌
Do you think gimp will add some kind of generative fill maybe using stable diffusion running locally?
Ingenious.
Thanks!
Wow!
Genial!
Very good
Thanks
Used ai online to make a mask for you, good hack. Save time
ur brilliant
Amazing, usually I would spend 30 mins on this
Yeah, this drastically speeds things up.
But more accurate.
Clever
hello dear sir davies g'mic cannot be used on gimp 2.10.36
how to fix it
noice!
nice
Cool
GOAT
One last step though: Apply Layer Mask. I tried to copy a selection of the final image and the copy had a layer mask only so you need to apply the layer mask to finalize the image.
👍
I thought there is python plugin for that in gimp(using opencl or whatever), as there is tools for that in python(but its not that good)
Adobe has a free online background removal tool
I kind of expected the AI to do a better job. Is there AI tool that would work good with hair and fur to make masks?
Meanwhile Removebg Plug-in For Gimp Be Like : " so who am I to you Steve ? "
Perfect video, thank you 👏👏👏👏
Thanks!

gimp SHOULD integrate any opensource AI model out there right now.
Everyday that GIMP lives without it, is another day where GIMP is useless for more and more people.
I would revise that statement to "Everyday that GIMP lives without it, it becomes less relevant to a larger audience of creators."
We have better option for remove background. Here lengthy process
not working anymore
March 2024. it's bloody annoying. they make you sign in but don't tell you you have to until AFTER you load a image. then they reset everything so you have to reupload the image. why can't they just tell you from the get go you have to be signed in to do anything.
free users can only use 1 image at a time, not the up to 10 they say
also ironic I have to verify that I'm human...when I'm using AI??!!!!!
$15/Month now
This is awesome, thanks
Sadly, it's such a roundabout way to go about bg removal.
More fakes picture .....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Genial!
