Thank you for the fun fact about the rock dassie having built in sunglasses (2:03). Here is a similar fun fact: hens have a third eyelid which is translucent and moves laterally, allowing them to see clearly even under heavy rain. This gives them the ability to escape from dragons.
I loved Table Mountain, it may sound weird, but I couldn’t help but to pick up the dozens of cigarette buts that littered the ground. One of the attendants said he had never seen anyone do that before. If you smoke (I don’t) please don’t litter.
I know this is an old comment :) Fancy Pants, you are so right. I live in South Africa and will find it hard to leave. There is a vibrant and alive energy here emanating from the earth that I have not come across anywhere else.
Did you guys feel safe there? Cape Town is one of my bucket list places. I was gonna go, but was concerned about safety becsuse of the farmer killings.
briantravelman yes we felt safe in🇿🇦. We had a guide with us most of the time which I recommend. Hope you get a chance to visit Cape Town- Thanks for watching!
Listen as im from South Africa i can advise you. Cape town itself is very safe. There are certain areas like Manenberg and Bonteheuwel that is dangerous but in the rest of the city you will be fine. The farmer killings wont affect your safety. Also dont be out too late. Make sure you are Back in your hotel before 11pm.
I spent 10 days in Cape town as a single traveler I had no problems only got one taxi from green point to camps bay just walk you can't see a country in the back of a cab my city bus tours are great Cape town stadium is absolutely fantastic
Table Mountain shows clearly the many layers of sediment laid down during The Flood 4,350 years ago. Similar table plateaus are seen all over the world as proof that the entire Earth was deeply covered by swirling water for 250 days followed by another 120 days of drain off that eroded the soft sediments to leave the tables and carved the great canyons like the Grand Canyon. We can know this because Table Mountain is about 3,300 feet high the same as most others. All the sediments fill the oceans which themselves were made as the granite crust collapsed as the floodwaters escaped under steam pressure. Debris from the oceans was blasted into space and is now called asteroids, comets and meteorites.
There was no great flood 4350 years ago, and asteroids and comets are not debris from the earths ocean. They are the remnants from the accretion disk around the sun when the solar system formed about 4.5 billion years ago. Don't believe what you read in the bible. It was written by people with very limited knowledge and understanding of the natural processes that formed our planet. Just google how do we know the age of the earth.
That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard...a little furry creature that looks more like is a groundhog or prairie-dog, is closely related to the Elephant?!!!

The rock dassies were so cute, kinda like the squirrels of South Africa. I wonder if South African people go crazy for our squirrels in the US.

You guys made a really nice video summarising Table Mountain!
