Thought about wrapping my own model 3 and making a video on the success/failure. But damn looks more like a failure to me right now haha. That was a lot of work for such a small section!

Man im wrapping one of these now for the first time! How did you approach the handles and did you remove the mirrors or wrap around them? Thanks for these videos of the bumper disassembly you saved my life man!

For the door handles, there are many ways to approach it, but what we did was basically covered the visible chrrome on it. For the mirrors, we recommend removing the caps and doing the mirror with multiple pieces

video title should be how not to wrap this bumper.. the inlay with stretch from the beginning and so much tension.. that's the amateur method but A for trying.

This was done in the winter time, temperature in the shop was below what Avery recommends so therefore heating it conservatively is completely fine. If you failed to see, the stretch on the film was below 20% which is what Avery recommends. With that being said, it's over a year and the front bumper still looks great, there are definitely signs of wear and tear since this is a daily, but no failures in the stretch.

Can you inlay and wrap the front bumper without taking it off..seems like more work to have to remove the bumper then put it back on lol

knifeless tape. tape with an imbedded wire that you pull out to create clean cuts.

@@DCassidy42 sounds so helpful. I tried the front bumper and gave up after an hour. Ef this. I can see why it cost $7k.

Is it ok to wrap the sensors?

    • @cmdrthreeofnine1006

Yes, it is. However a chrome wrap will interfere with autopilot. No issues with matte or glass though.

you're stretching the film improperly creating too many wrinkles that can be avoided. there's a lot of good videos you can watch
