  • Olive St. 2nd Alarm (Bridgeport, CT) 5/30/21
    BRIDGEPORT, CT - Shortly before 6:30pm on May 30, 2021, the Bridgeport Fire Department received multiple calls for a fire at 370 Olive St. First companies on scene found a large 4-story wood frame residence with heavy fire showing on all 4 floors on the rear porches. A second alarm was immediately called. After an aggressive offensive attack, members were eventually pulled from the structure as the fire took hold of the attic and operations turned defensive. In all, 8 families were displaced due to the fire, but there were no reported injuries at the time of this writing.

    The amount of water pouring out the front door at the end is impressive. The windshield wipers being out of synch was really weird. Nice capture

    I don’t know if this was caused by human error but I could never share a living space with other people. Like live in an apartment building or whatever. Someone’s mistake could cost you everything. No thank you!! I lived in an apartment when I was first married and a neighboring apartment building caught fire, due to a cigarette🙄 After that I wanted out of there!! Luckily we bought a home a few months after. That’s just too scary. I often think of NY and all those millions of people sharing buildings. I just wouldn’t feel comfortable or safe.

    NIce Work Guys, Nice Work Indeed.. My only question is how did that fire spread that fast ? I'm Praying that no one got hurt, especially The Firefighters.

      Really? Try telling me where all this Nice Work was performed. Why did it spread? Because they didn't put tank water through the window fast to STOP combustion!

    So you have a Tower Ladder up, Doing Nothing and one line hitting the fire from the street. They were lucky on this fire!!

    • @FIREGROUNDIMAGES
      @FIREGROUNDIMAGES  3 года назад +4

      The men in the tower ladder would beg to differ with you....and their were countless lines operating at this fire...not just 'one' in the front.

      @@FIREGROUNDIMAGES And nothing constructive was accomplished. This fire should have been knocked down in the first minute of arrival and completely wrapped up in 5 minutes. 0:24 Notice windows are already broken out on multiple floors. Needlessly, by the way. That means they have been there for a long time. If they put tank water through that window within the first minute of arrival, that fire would have been out by the time this video started. Like most of these fire videos on RUclips.

    What are the two fireman doing in the tower bucket except watching the fire on the roof spread?

      No water usage!

      Chuck, your dentures may be too tight and hindering your ability to think clearly and positively so let me be your phone a friend asset. The men in the tower bucket vented the roof. Which is quite taxing, after that they utilized hooks and hand tools to horizontally vent windows, all which allowed interior crews better conditions for fire attack. They pulled away siding and material for the eaves locating hot spots and identifying pockets of hidden fire, thus preventing the spread. And YES omg believe it or not Ripley, they most certainly did flow water from the aerial master stream for a lengthy period of time. Hope this answered your question and helped you gain some knowledge which may lead you to decreasing your shitty Monday morning quarterbacking. Asa llama lakem!

      That's it, just that! What was the chief doing at 4:23? Just watching all that water pour out the door which didn't do a thing to stop combustion and only destroyed what the fire didn't.

    • @JB91710
      @JB91710 Год назад

      @@mikehunt9784 If they actually did that, all they accomplished was providing the fire more fresh air to help the fire spread. The master stream did nothing but entertain the chief who stood there watching it pour out the front door. You acted like a sarcastic wise ass but all you were really doing is showing your ignorance of proper firefighting.

  • @JB91710

    0:25 You stand under that window and squirt a stream of water into that room. Move your feet to the sides and forward and back to cover the entire room. In a few seconds the room is soaked, and you can take your time going inside to mop up while the victims and firefighters have been protected.
    By wasting a massive amount of time to go inside to fight this fire, it has spread to other rooms and the attic space. Now, the building is toast. 4:00 When they finally do apply water to the building from the outside, the fire is already knocked down so all they are doing is destroying the rest of the building with the water. 4:23 Look at this chief standing there, watching this! 4:27 Does that make any sense? 99.99% of that water never touched burning material.
    You surgically apply Just enough water to stop combustion. Can you imagine a surgeon using a hand grenade to open your chest cavity?
