I have been collecting makeup and nail polish for the last 25 years. Your videos are helping me understand what is going on with me, and it’s tied to my mental health. Now I realize I have a “problem” and I “think” I’m ready to start tackling this obsession/compulsion/hoarding. It is psychologically complex and I’m afraid of facing these feelings. So I don’t know where to start. And then I just go back to work and do my work addiction thing, so my necessary declutter gets shelved for a bit. Maybe I need to start with therapy? I always watching declutters. Doing them personally helps me refine what currently serves me. It helps me to not keep buying the same thing over again. RdF was only released late spring 2023 I think.
Awesome job getting out of that “brain fog” to keep everything gets you too 🤯 I’m super guilty of it too lol 😂 the Nomad “GhostTown” palette did sting a little lol but only bc mine “disappeared” after some folks came to a Get Together at our house🤦🏻♀️ Anyhow, amazing job on this declutter & your ability to really get your collection on a more personable level! ✨😊 Lastly yall remember to be kind to each other, but also be kind to yourself too🫶🏼
Wow, the kaleidos eye shadows should go in the makeup museum, that palette took me back to when those came out. They were a hot commodity for a minute.
Thanks for sharing ~Very relatable! I love and wear MOB everyday but only their powder formulas. I feel like they've really leaned in on cream everything but I wish MOB would create more eyeshadow colors and a powder foundation👏

Love a declutter. How freeing to let go of what isn’t serving you. I’ve always considered having a RUclips channel but was nervous that I would get swept up in purchasing to keep the conversation going. Very curious on your final verdict on Merit. I recently made a Merit purchase but am still waiting on delivery. I was finally willing to try the minimalist foundation stick since they came out with lighter shades. I can’t seem to track down if/why they are problematic. So I’m interested if you come across anything!

I just got ride of a lot yesterday, there was something in the air…things that I was saving, so old and yucky 🤢 but I was saving them because I used to adore them.
We all like a fresh start to the year maybe? Happy to have partners in this! It's hard to let go, I do like allowing myself the museum box for the extra precious or things I'll want to swatch for a dupe in the future.

This has reminded me to go through my makeup again. I happen to love the small Smashbox palettes and I believe I have 5 of them. I think Punked is the one I don't have. I have a box with the OG Wet'n'Wild palettes which I just seem to keep for nostalgia. Some of the popular palettes I remember hunting through every drugstore to get. You did a great job.
The smashbox honestly may deserve a museum spot b/c of how iconic they were. I'm talking "what not to wear" history here lol The wet n wild palettes need to get the recognition they deserve! Formula and color palettes were so good...I've tried to dupe the lust palette for like 10 years at this point and while i can get close in color the formula is what i miss most!!

What if you just kept a photo library of swatches with the same lighting so that it will be consistent? That way you could get rid of the things you only want for reference and not for museum collection!
I think this is an excellent idea! I also saw there’s a journal out there with special paper for beauty swatching that make up artists use that could be helpful too!!
I’m moving away from Salt New York products too. I love Kiki, and the company is amazing, the products are beautiful, but I forget about them in my collection. Sometime I might get an empty single pan palette for the Sneaky Balm or contour.
I love my Missha BB cream but you’re right, you need to use your fingers! I saw that Beauty Pie has the setting powder and bronzer refills for the powder compact but no blushes. I wonder what they will be doing with the Keep This eye palettes? Will they be getting singles??
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so and I'm just not typically a finger person for base products lol! Ooh I don't think I've seen the keep this eye palettes! I wish they'd be more transparent with what's coming and going!
This was such a pleasant break from all the Black Friday sales videos. Quick question for you, do you actually see a difference in the Well People Bronzer shades? I own Sun Glow and Golden Hour and I swear they are the same exact shade. I can’t tell a difference between them. Golden Hour might be ever so slightly warmer. I’m so befuddled by this.
It wasn’t planned but worked out well I think 😂 it def helps to not spend when you’re going through a mountain of what you already have! Ok so no I was hoping for more a difference, I see a little bit but in the face it’s almost the same I think golden hour is a bit warmer and a little more red but I wish there was more of a difference bc that was my hopes. The finish is so lovely the color just isn’t what I’m looking for in either 😞
@@RachelEllenRose Thanks for the reply. I bought the Golden Hour shade originally and it was perfect as a summer bronzer shade for me. I recently bought the Sun Glow shade because I thought it might be a nice option for a winter bronzer. I was disappointed by how similar it is to the Golden Hour. It's still a nice finish and the shade works for me, so I will probably keep it around.

Your messy palettes need their protective plastic sheet that they came with. That would keep all the fallout in place. ❤
