I feel ya, I was in Bali previous September with my wife. In Bali we rent a car, so driving on the other side of the road and the chaos of the traffic were a fearful experience in the first place but after a couple of days, I learned the pattern of that chaos and I was used to it. On the other hand, we spent the last 3 days of our Indonesian trip in Nusa Penida, where we rented a Honda Scoopy, there the driving experience were pretty good, due to less traffic and more calm environment.
Just a note. The r15 and mt15 are not knockoffs. An you said, Indonesia, India, some other Asian markets, as well as Greece, have really big motorcycle markets. Models like these exist where they make sense. They don't in USA/Canada/UK, so you don't see them there. It's good to have a little research before calling something a knockoff, just because you didn't think it exists😊
Bro, i'm from Indonesia, i just found your video, By the way, not only in bali, but in almost around in my country love to ride scooter, Because easy to ride, especially in big City like jakarta, bandung, bogor. And some people had a bad behavior when they ride motorcycle 😅 , like doesn't care about the red traffic light, ride on the sidewalk😅. But i love Bali with all the culture, in 2022 , i have riding from Bogor to bali with my 150cc motorcycle, it's about 1280km / 795 miles, and that's amazing experience for me.
I was in the Dominican Republic a couple of weeks ago. Culture there was very similar. Tons of scooters and small bikes. And they were making me nervous just watching them ride.
In Puerto Plata I asked a local about that and he said the amounts of crashes are insane. Saw a dude with a BBQ strapped on the back on his motorcycle 🤣

Ya maybe I misspoke, they aren’t a knock off of the North American model but maybe an adaptation of their companion models.
