Check out the Stretched Ruckus game, every celebrity has one. With a Cult following and Honda's reliability I see them going to 90% retail value of brand new ones, even as far back as 2005! Don't forget the Honda PCX 160, it does like up to 85mph! And it DOES do wheelies, I can atest to that, Myself being a 300lb Gorilla. The scooter game is far different form the early 2000's, do some research.
As a long time rider, I find my 250cc Honda Reflex scooter as my workhorse bike. It does everything I need. I have done 300mi rides on it. Ridden daily in Chicago -15 degrees winters. It just goes.
@@wemane6361, pay attention to areas that could collect water or areas where snow is piled up. As it melts you get trails of water that can freeze into ice slicks.
I see shops love scooters because you spend your money there😂 shops should have dedicated scooter drive throughs too. Every car owner should have a scooter for those quick shop trips😂
very simple if you want a comfy daily/commuter with lots of storage space and weather protection (yes it can totaly replace a car) get a GT Scooter like Honda Forza or Yamaha Tmax... they are fast enough, they are cheap to drive with minimum maintenance. No Chain to worry about all the time, simple sit on it and drive. You can go every where also in your every day clothes if you want.... you can commute to work on cheap every day, you can go shopping, you can do nearly everything. Downside, its not a Sportsbike to Race or Enduro to go Offroad or a Cruiser to show off.... if you want that specific then go and buy that specific bike.... i ride all kind of Motorcycles since 30years and i absolutely love Motorcycles, but honestly for the every day use i take my Honda Forza Scooter, cheap, easy, reliable, comfy, enough storage space if needed. A Motorcycle is more a Hobby/Freetime thing, A Scooter is like an trusty everyday Car. I replaced my Car with the Scooter and until now i don't regret it in any way
Lived in Taiwan for 3 years. Had a Yamaha Nmax scooter. Loved it! Crazy thing is, nobody ever thought about driving with gear in Taiwan. It wasn't until I came back home when I decided to think about actually getting gear.
I picked up a 1987 Elite 250 for my wife, $650. Due to health problems she wasn't able to ride it then. After passing my MSF I used it to practice. Now I'm having so much fun I'm looking at some maxi scooters 400-650cc that we can 2-up some serious road miles. Scooters are a blast.
Funny, I finally got a Kymco 300 ABS a few months ago. Great addition to the fleet (scooter, small adv, mid adv, st, dresser). Lots of storage and great for riding around town-way better than a moto for town duty, imo. Great internal storage. Fun to ride and fast enough to worry about tickets. True about safety. My wife low sided and shattered her knee-in the class (I at least got her full moto gear on, so no skin or bone loss-should have gotten her ABS). The break was so unusual and bad that the ortho dr gathered all the interns in the hospital and made them come look because “you’ll never see this again.” Fortunately it didn’t require amputation, which was the main concern. Obviously, she wasn’t a good candidate for two wheels, but I didn’t pick up on that. You definitely can have a very f’d up day/summer on a “little” scooter.
That is true and sometimes when we become a little cocky and complacent a fucked up day can happen in the blink of an eye and it's true most times it happens close to home. I'm living proof cuz it happened to me in my own damn driveway no less although it's a gravel driveway. It was a nice warm summer day out and those brewski's were tasting mighty fine,🍻🐝 I wasn't drunk but I definitely had a good glow going anyway I hopped on the scoot to only take a quick buzz around the block to loan out a tool to a neighbor and as I headed to the end of the driveway (faster than I should have) because my neighbors next door have some bushes that partially block my view of the road and of course perfect timing here comes a car down the road as I come to the end of the driveway just before the street yet still on gravel & I slam the brakes on and down I went, didn't break anything on me or the bike but put some ugly road rash on that once pristine DuPont metallic blue paint, I felt like such a dumbass I parked it and didn't even get it out the following season, live and learn. Well now she's back out again. Scooters are the bomb, just picked up a Suzuki Burgman 650 to add to the fleet of miles and smiles & regarding my stupid spill I say if you can't laugh at yourself who the hell can you laugh at. 😉✌️
After my wife and I took the MSF Course we went out and bought ourselves Vespa’s. It’s been so much fun and has allowed us to learn at a more gradual pace. She has a 150cc Vespa while I have a Vespa GTS 300cc. For our style of city riding, they are both perfect and I can see ourselves riding these for a long time. I always recommend the scooter life to my family and friends. I have also found that the Vespa community is very supportive and friendly. Most cities have a Vespa group where you can connect with riders. Either way, go out there and enjoy the open road and always be safe.
I've been riding scooters as my primary method of transportation for about four years now. While they aren't very fun on the highway (open road with very fast moving traffic and no protection from wind strong enough to blow me into another lane if I'm not careful), I quite enjoy zipping around on them in the city. They are very agile and their off the line acceleration blows your average car completely out of the water (My Kymco Like 200i will do 0-30 mph in roughly 2 seconds on flat terrain, and 0-20 in one second!). I can't really say how fun they are compared to other motorbikes, as I've only ever ridden scooters, but I will say that if you enjoy cornering, you should definitely give them a chance. You should also consider them if you're looking for a a two wheeled vehicle that capable of carrying more than just you. :P
I bought my first ever scooter this year, a 2022 Yamaha BWS125 (Zuma), and I'm loving zipping around the city on it way more than I ever did any of my motorcycles. And yes, the cornering on a scooter is way more fun than on a motorcycle in around town. Looking forward to Yamaha, or Honda bringing a 155cc flat foot well scooter to Canada with 13" wheels instead of my 12's, and just a little bit more suspension travel...what I believe will be the sweet spot for me. Whoever thought that practical could be so much fun.
I bought a Chinese Honda reflex clone. I had Hella fun on scoot mcgoot. Rode it over taking the harley a few times. It's nice to just sit back and chill. It was super comfy and easy to ride. Me and scoot mcgoot did alot of cruising around town. I'd buy another one in a second. They're fun, I don't give a shit what anyone thinks. As far as I'm concerned they are the clown who is missing out on a good time.
I have and love a Piaggio BV400. Easily keeps up with highway traffic and maxes out at around 95 mph on the dash. People are always surprised at how fast it goes.
From 2010 to 2020 I used my buddy 50cc scooter as my main mode of transportation while I was going to community college, since I only lived 10 miles away from the campus. After graduating and getting a job at a hospital somewhat close to me (20 miles away), I knew I had to get something with a little more oomph. So I got the lance Cali classic 125cc scooter. Top speed on paper is 60 mph, but I never take it past 45mph. I don't think scooters are for "pansies". I get a lot of waves from other motorcyclists when I ride around.
I recently bought a 300cc Yamaha xmax motor scooter, i've had motorcycles before and while they are great fun they have some shortcomings if you want to use it as your primary mode of transportation. A scooter has lower maintanance (longer intervals, no chain), they are more practical, more fuel efficient and get better wind protection. I also don't care for shifting gears, both in a car as on two wheels so having an automatic transmission is a welcome addition. Especially in slow riding traffic and when filtering in traffic jams having an automatic is a big advantage. The whole 'you're not a real motorcyclist on a motorscooter' thing is just dumb really, who cares what someone rides, as long as its on two wheels!
I love scooters. I have had half a dozen and I've liked every one I ever had. You can generally tell the engine size by the speed of the scooter. 50cc scooters go 35-45 mph, 150cc scooters go 55-65 mph, and bigger scooters can get on the interstate. Where did the 80-132 miles per gallon statement come from? I've driven scooters for many years and I've never seen a stock scooter get more than ~105 miles per gallon. Bear in mind, the 105 miles per gallon came from a 50cc with 120 lb rider. In my experience, it seems that many people have an exaggerated belief in scooter fuel efficiency. Most scooters I've ridden get 80-90 miles per gallon cruising around and 60-70 miles per gallon on the highway (at 55-65 mph).
Even the low numbers are still insane. A scooter is the most fuel efficient you'll get outside a motorized bike. But thanks for the real world figures.
Oh I definitely see people popping wheelies on the T-Max over in Europe. They can lift those things! As far as scooters, I'd say the Honda 750 X-ADV looks like a ton of fun. Also the Honda Forza 750 and the good old T-Max from Yamaha of course.
I got my motorcycle licenece this year and bought a Yamaha Xmax 300 and already have over 4000 miles on it. It's my new daily driver! It gets 70+ MPG and I've gotten it to 90mph before. Its more than enough, plus the extra storage with a top case means I can bring a friend and get groceries!
Great subject, I bought a new 2022 Honda NAVI, first time out in the US.1807 msrp...It's a 110 cc and automatic transmission and gets approx 110 miles per gallon ..It is a great around the town or camp bike..I ride it whenever I can and it has saved me a ton in gas money..I still ride my Mighty Suzuki DRZ400s dual sport but this Honda is a great addition to my stable...
@@therealrealshocker Yeah, I've had it over a year now and it's a neat little bike...I ride it to work when the weather's good and most of my other railroaders love it.. 4 of my co workers have bought one...
I recently sold my YZF600 because of back issues, I bought a Kawasaki J300 as it was easy to get on and off. I never thought I would ride a scooter but I love it, it's more than fast enough for the streets and since you ask about practicability, it has a ton of storage space under the seat, I also have a large top box and two pairs of roll up canvas saddle bags, I can get at least two weeks worth of groceries in one go. Seat padding is very comfortable, I can easily ride a few hundred miles in one go and it will sit at the maximum speed limit (70mph) all day and it does 59mpg, I believe it's a lot more from experience but that's what Kawasaki claim. Even if my back gets better and I can get my leg over a 'proper' motorbike, I wouldn't, I'm keeping this, it has everything I want.
I started watching your content for the WR250R. I bought one and loved it. I bought 2 scooters in the last 2 weeks. The helix 250 and the burgman 400 are both really fun.
Interesting you post this, just as I am wishing Yamaha brought their Tmax to Canada. I would like an 800cc + version ideally. Comfort, no buffeting, good handling, weather protection are all things I like more and more as I age. I think of it as a mini-goldwing and would love one to go with my other bikes.
I've ridden dirt bikes, street cruisers, ATVs, and currently own a Honda Silverwing 600cc. I defy anyone who thinks,. what is marketed as a Scooter is anything other than a motorcycle. Here in Ontario, they are classified as a step through motorcycle and with 600cc, 50HP and a top speed of 100 MPH,. and weighing in at 500 pounds it's every inch a highway bike. Will I go back to a manual motorcycle, perhaps, but at 60 years old, I find I like a bit less work to ride a lot more enjoyable.
I have a piaggio scooter I got from my uncle and it’s super reliable. It’s my main form of transportation and has tons of room for storage. They aren’t super jumpy but you can power through corners with your groceries and a passenger
I started in a Honda ADV 150!! It was a super cool scooter! Just not the best for rural roads 45 mph or higher! It maxed at about 72 mph but it took a lot of time to get there!! Dope video!
The adv 150 is my 6th grade( 7 yrs ago) classmates first motorcycle. While my 12th grade classmates are planning to buy honda click/vario 125 after the get their license.
Kymco and SYM are both Taiwanese companies and make the most reliable scooters in the world. In fact, as an example, both companies also make engines and sometimes entire bikes and small cars/trucks for other companies, such as Honda, Toyota, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Hyundai, etc. I forget which model it is, but one of the big BMW bikes is (or at least was) entirely made by Kymco, which also makes engines and other stuff for them.
I have both, vfr800 and 150cc scooter/motorcycle. They both fit nicely in my assigned parking spot, both are older and relatively cheap to insure and run. The scooter keeps miles off my Honda and is nicer when it gets hot
I like the somewhat "Smaller" scooters like the 125-180cc GY6 ones. Quality is surprisingly good. I wish Kawasaki would make a smaller scooter like that in Green.
Bought my beloved Genuine Buddy 125 / PGO PA-125 (Taiwanese brand) ( named her Joyce ( partial plate number J07E ) a month ago ( 2023) and I really satisfied with her. Glad I did not go for a "toy" 50cc scoot! Pulls surprisingly hard :) (first engine mod , a taller gear ) Can run a solid 55 to 69 mph without my needing to lean forward . Will she ever set tire on freeway/interstate .. nope. Will she rule on "surface roads" yep!
👍👍👍👍👍👍 😊 I started on a 500W electric bicycle in 2012. (self built & still got it) 😄 I went on to a scooter because in the state I live in a 500W electric bike is illegal to ride on the streets. Today I ride a motorcycle. The most fun though I had was on an electric bicycle, my then gf & I each took one for a test ride through the streets of a beachside suburb. It got topped by TGB scooter I used during the two day riding course to get my rider licence. While other students where stalling or dropping their bikes I was ripping & tearing around the course. 😄
Great video my man! so very true what you say, guys get caught up in all the matcho bullshit with bikes but like you said, most people do not care what you ride. To me it seems scooters are definately a tool to do a job and bikes are a little more fun.
I had a fly 150 piagio for about 3 years, then I bought a SV 650 Suzuki for about same time . Today I don’t have any bikes but I’m thinking about another one, if you ask me what bike was the best on the fwy ? The 650 yes all the way ! But best fun , best commuting, best comfort, best utility, best memories was definitely my scooter.
Thanks for that video bro. I have a 150 GY6, im 44, its what I can swing right now, not trying to go into debt on a 10k bike, I have fun on my chinese bike. I dont gaf what anybody thinks. Im old anyway, have a woman, she dosent want me riding 100 mph, Its a fun little toy, i can wrench on it sometimes, they break down alot, so i learn alot lol
For me i'm getting three things 1 : scooter 2 : hard tail mountain bike or Hybrid bicycle . 3 : KLX300 dual sport I probably won't ride the dual sport much.
Cool. That’s a good mix. Before pulling the trigger on a MTB, try out a good eMTB (Trek, Specialized, Giant, or Cannondale). That’s basically what I replaced my KTM XC and small 250 dual sport with so I could actually enjoy technical trail riding. I bet you would ride the KLX more than you think!
I own a motorcycle and a scooter every now and then the scooter is just as fun around town and back roads definitely during the week back and forth to work on warm days
My brother and I would take our 50cc scooters out in winter and drive them down the icy alleys. You put your feet down to hold yourself up and then turn the front wheel and spin all the way down the alley. Super fun.
Mann I remember your videos from years back, when you wouldn’t let anyone see any color of your skin.🤣. you gave me a lot of much needed advice and information.💪🏾
A lot of those big scooters have a lot of space for stuff. Some of them you can even carry golf clubs under the seat. The really big ones take some practice at stops though, because there is a balance you have to maintain between the gas and the brakes.
I ride an africa twin and recently bought a 150cc Chinese scooter and its so much fun to bomb around town on that. My work commute is so much more enjoyable, I love the honda for long rides but nothing wrong with a scooter. I never noticed how insecure so many riders are until I pull up next to some Harley riders at a stop light I just laugh to myself that I'm just confident and riding my own ride. If my scooter did highway speeds I'd totally convert, thanks for the vid I think there's a lot of people that start out on scooters and its important for them to know you just ride what you want and how you want don't let some insecure fool try to bully you.
I got a Dual sport, a cruiser, and a scooter. Each have their place but the scooter is more practical for running errands, shopping etc…. I use in in town only because it’s only 50cc. I can see a day when I may have only a higher capacity scooter and no bikes.
I started riding on the road around 1984 right about the time I was starting high school. Been riding a long time. That’s not included dirt Ike’s as a kid. My first street bike was a Honda CM400T. Since then I’ve had a fair number of bikes. Currently I have a Yamaha Tracer 900GT and a Yamaha Star Venture TC in the barn. My last bike I let go (traded out for the Star Venture) was a Suzuki M109R BOSS. Bottom line, I have handled some power and serious road bikes. Never really got into the full sports bikes, too many damaged pieces in my back from years in the military and repeated injuries. I can’t ride in that position without pain. By far, my favorite riding is jumping on the Chinese 150 scooter to grab some groceries. Those little GY6 engines are fun and you can build those little machines into anything. I used to keep a pair of them. One was always under construction as I upgraded and swapped part and the other was pretty much stock except some heavier rollers to increase top end speed. My goal was 90MPH on 13” wheels. Honestly, scooters are a different kind of riding and if you like cutting up the curves then scooters are perfect. Short wheel base and low center of gravity, they are nimble and light footed. Just a blast to ride. Easy to throw around, never hard to ride, even at low speeds. If I had to give up big bikes or scooters, I’d let my big bikes go. Unfortunately, that may actually be a thing. With the injuries in my spine in my neck, the wind buffeting and beating the head gets at highway speeds as well as the need to tilt the head up from a sporty riding stance is causing deterioration. The weight of the bagger is getting unmanageable with the neuropathy in my legs from lower spinal damage as well. With a 250 or smaller weighing in at under 300 pounds and the center of gravity being, basically at the ground, plus the step through design of a scoot, it looks like I’m headed that way for my riding. It’s a good thing they are so damn fun. Unfortunately I lost my last two scooters in a divorce many years ago and never got around to replacing them. Now I just need to find a decent one around here. Maybe something in the 150-250 range. Like a Syn or the Lance Cabo 170 has been catching my eye… I guess it’s time to see what’s in stock with the shortages.
@Josh8494. You sound like me minus the divorce. I've had three back surgeries may need a fourth, some days I have hardly any feeling below my knees, anyway yes SYM is a very reliable brand as good as Kymco or Honda, I've owned my 2007 SYM RV 250 for 8 years and recently picked up a 2017 Suzuki Burgman 650 it's awesome fast & nimble but she's heavy about 615 lbs wet. Suzuki is still producing Burgman 400's Although those have some weight too at about 480 lbs but the advantage is you don't get pushed around by the wind on the freeway or just find a low mileage 250cc (brand name) that's been takin care of That's key!!! Good luck.🇺🇲✌️
@@yukonjack. since I wrote that story, some time back, I have had enough medical issues that my doctor told me to let the bikes go. Unfortunately, I agree with that. After nearly setting both bikes down on myself at stoplights, it was time to get real with myself. Both bikes are now sold with my son buying the Tracer from me for the hefty price of a Lance Havana Classic 200i. I am absolutely smitten with that little scooter. My only complaint is that I really wish it had a larger gas tank.
@@josh8494 What do you mean?? Btw If Moto scooters are out of the picture you might want to look into a recumbent bicycle I have one of those too bought it used, they're easier on your back eventually I'd like to get an electric motor to assist someday? It's not the same as a motor scooter but at least you're out in the fresh air it does help the human spirit.✌️
Loved my 150cc Chinese made scooter. Would top out at 65 but going down hill and “tucking” could get to 72. At the time I would fill the take for 2-3 dollars and get from San Diego to Huntington Beach back down to San Clemente on a tank. Didn’t pay attention to what the actual mpg was but well over 80 mpg. Am currently thinking of getting a 250cc to ride to work when I don’t have the family with me.
That's real talk brother I had a 2006 aprilia sr50r that thing was a blast coud do 50 plus mph easy. Plus I've had plenty of motorcycle's small and big thinking of getting a 2015 yamaha r3 with only 330 miles on it to mess around and have fun on .
i have a duke 390 that i use mostly in the city... i gained a lot of mobility compared to driving a car, but soon i noticed some things that i was missing that would be solved by a proper +300cc maxiscooter, which has lots of storage just under the seat (2 helmets + jacket/backpack+ waterproof vest+gloves+chain/locker) so i am seriously thinking about getting a yamaha xmax 300 and sell the duke, and whenever i miss again a proper motorcycle i go for a 700-900cc travel motorcycle or another solution would be going straight to get a tracer7 with storage and see how it behaves on the highway, and use that as a multipurpose bike for daily and travel/fun whenever i drive my duke 390 at highway speeds (120kmh) its really messy, i have to reduce some speed to be comfortable with the wind (down to 100-110kmh) and all the cars pass me, which is also super uncomfortable/dangerous (as if riding a bike wasnt) its a fun bike for twisties, amazing value... but honestly its too light and "naked" I think that buying a naked is the number one begginers mistake... we just see how powerful, technological, and how amazingly cool they look, and forget about practicality... because at the end of the day they are only good city bikes but with the big inconvenience of carrying your stuff with you all the time they can do everything, but they arent good at anything really
I use a BMW C650GT as my daily driver and it easily handles the freeways. Tops out at about 120, heated seat, heated grips and enough storage for two bags of groceries. Plus, I can fill it up and ride all week for less than $20. Down side is that it is not cheap and maintenance costs are outrageous
I feel you. I had a Svartpilen 401 2019 (basically the same bike as the Duke with different fairings) and made the switch to an Xmax 300. It is a great scooter and you can really push it on some nice corners, very sporty. It is almost perfect, otherwise I wouldn´t have put 50k km (30k miles) on it in 2 years. There are quite a few situations though where you wish for more power where you wouldn´t on the 401. On the 401 I could basically overtake anything on country roads without worries. With the Xmax you need to plan a lot, plus overtaking a car that is also accelerating is almost impossible. This is a big problem, especially here in Germany where people have fragile egos and don´t want to let a scooter go past them, so they accelerate mid overtake. Other than that, it´s been incredibly reliable and cheap. I drive like a hooligan sometimes, basically full throttle any chance I get and still have an average consumption of 3.2L/100km (about 73mpg). I´m considering the switch back to a bike for more power, emotions and even shifting but there are no bikes that wouldn´t be just another compromise in this price range.
Genuine hooligan 170i scooter made in Taiwan. Best, most practical, convenient easy to ride bike I ever had. Bikes I've had= Katana 600, suzuki tl1000r, Honda rc51, Kawasaki zx-14.
This was an interesting video. As a European, scooters have always been popular here for multiple reasons. It’s funny to see them gaining popularity in the states, especially as Americans used to make fun of us for riding them. I remember seeing a lot of comments like “get a real bike” etc. now the gas prices seem to rising there, scooters have suddenly become a practical option lol. Funny how things change
My first ever ride on a bike was a scooter, my first ever accident ona bike was on a scooter, I was raised with scooterwas, I owned an NC700 DCT, that was the biggest and fastest scooter I've ever riden, when I can afford I'll look for the Burgman 600 which no longer exhists or I'll just get me another DCT. They are the most comfortable and flexible vehicles to own absolutely fun, in South Africa with the kind of roads we have here the NC700DCT or 750 now is certainly an advantage because of the power and wheel size, trucks here do 100mph so little 150cc scooters are only good enough for round town commuting.
CycleCruza, just got my t-shirt today from your online store. Thanks again!! My Chinese scooter 150cc does 60mph luggin my 250lb butt around. I feel like I ride like a hooligan on my scooter. 😄😄
They are the best for city commuting, holding the clutch on a traffic jam can get painful and the storage is really useful, I'm on my first bike which is a xblade 160, I wanted a motorcycle so I can properly learn to shift, but the next one can be a scooter, an xadv is a big jump from where I am but that thing is cool
Hello to everyone how's everybody today. My brother and I signed up a few weeks ago to go get our motorcycle license, but the classes are so full so we have to wait until August 12th 13th and 14th for our turn to go do the written test and the riding test. I haven't been on a motorcycle since 1986 when I was in high school and never bothered to take the test or the riding test to make it permanent. Last fall we picked up a Ninja 250 to learn on and through the winter ordering parts off of eBay because the first set of guys that had it damaged the gas tank, rip the back fender off, broke the plastic pieces cut into the wiring harness, ordered a airbox and as it turns out that was missing pieces so I had to order another one and use those two to make a good one.
Nice! A lot of people are getting into motorcycles now. I think people are realizing YOLO. Motorcycles are awesome fun and gets you away from the bs that is going on in life. Best of luck on your Ninja 250 build. Just make sure to wear all the gear all the time and stay safe! Best of luck!
Never had a scooter because I always thought they were slow and for people who were poor lol or didn't have a license . ( UK back in the 80s my brother had a 50cc which was slower than my push bike lol ). I'd consider getting an electric one if it had big enough wheels to cope with the pot holes around here and went a decent speed and range. My ebikes are great though and not sure if I need anything else apart from maybe a car for the winter would be nice sometimes but expensive.
Scooters have always been more practical. I'd still have my burgman 650 if it had lower revs at interstate speeds. I live in Kansas and I love taking long motorcycle trips and it was perfect if you started your ride in the areas I wanted to travel to. I got 235-245miles on a tank (would usually burn 3.5gals of the 4gal capacity at this mileage) with my burgman but i had to keep my cruising speeds around 61-63mph. Living in Kansas if I wanted to head to Utah or to the east coast, it would take me ages to get to where I am going if I didn't want to stop frequently. Cruising at 70-75mpg penalized me to a 190-210mile per 3.5gallon range. That burgman took me on a 7day motorcycle trip with camping from the highest to the lowest paved roads in north America and never skipped a beat. My total miles for that trip was 3504miles and I only spent $134.07 in fuel (thanks to Suzuki tuning this motorscooter for regular fuel). 56liters of storage under the seat, I had a 56liter givintop case, its built with a cigarette lighter, 3 glove boxes, a helmet hangar, electronically adjustable windscreen, electric fold in mirrors, an over take switch that will flash your high beams, parking brake, 13' or newer executive models come with heated grips and seats. Yes it's a porky 650lbs wet but I couldn't think of a better overall onroad bike. Maintenance is rediculously easy and all fluid drain holes and fill holes are all lined up next to each other. Tires are easy to get for it in a sense where the sizes needed for it won't be plagued by any tire shortages. It's an auto but it has electronic push button shifting if you want to change your own gears. It's a bad ass bike. I traded it for a Honda ST1300 and the only 2 things off the top of my head that my ST does better then the burgman 650 is give me more range per fill-up and more storage (granted I use the same 56liter top case I was using with my burgman). P.S. if you purchase the available side cases for the burgman, and use the 56liter Givi top case I have, you'll have a whopping 162liters of total storage space (possibly more)
CycleCruza has no scootah?? I've been riding all kinds of motorcycles for about 20 years. Right now I'm riding a Honda Forza 350. I bought it because I can use it everyday. It is way more practical than a regular motorcycle. I just notice I use it a lot more than my previous motorcycles. It just helps me with my life/work balance. I enjoy my daily commutes on a scootah!!
I love my 150cc Scooter. I couldn't justify a motorcycle even though I'd like one. My scooter can haul things out of the box, no need for tones of accessories.
Hey CC, hope you are well! My two brothers-in-law have scooters, 175cc, and they have a blast on them. I kinda sorta looked down on them, bcs. I have my 750cc Kawasaki streetfighter, but I want to try them, like really. It is completely different. And that's great! Stay safe
I personally can't wait for Honda to release ADV 250 (or just outright sells the 350 here in my country, although they tend to release 250 cc version due to regulations) or just buy the X-ADV 750. But there is another option for those who want automatic but doesn't want to ride a scooter or spend money on a Gold Wing ( or automatic version of Artica Twin for that matter). Honda NXC 750 is an automatic motorcycle that looks like a sportsbike instead of the usual scooter.
as long as you talked about scooter and you are thinking of buying an old T-max then you should consider buying a Honda silver wing 600cc it has 55 liter storage under seat and very powerful scooter as well it has 120 miles speedometer
5:00 context for that pic for anyone curious: major bridges in Taiwan have motorcycle-designated lanes. Pictured is the Taipei bridge which crosses over a major river, linking Taipei with New Taipei/metropolitan Taipei. Scooters are king in Taiwan, being the motorbike capital of the world, and they weave all over the place like a swarm of incects. It's very crazy and kind of scary
Hell yea, you should get the Tmax! That will be awesome to watch. people rock them in my country and you can custom the shit out of it to the point you can power wheelie all day :D
Kymco is pronounced KIM-CO, yes Taiwanese's, not Chinese. Had a Kymco xciting 500 maxi scooter and toured the country on it for years. Put 80,000 miles on it. Longest day was 1,004 miles. Only break down was the stator between 40-50,000 miles.
Well hot damn this goes to my recommended vids while a friend of mine offers to sell a scooter same as rossi’s but bigger displacement for dirt cheap.. to be fair I’ve been eying one for months as I’m getting older and I need less stress on my back.. I’ve had supermotos, bobbers and sport naked bikes that have good handlebar placement for my back but I need something that I don’t get tempted into speeding every time I get bored..

yamaha tmax or xmax will do wheelies just shutdown the traction control
Check out the Stretched Ruckus game, every celebrity has one. With a Cult following and Honda's reliability I see them going to 90% retail value of brand new ones, even as far back as 2005!
Don't forget the Honda PCX 160, it does like up to 85mph! And it DOES do wheelies, I can atest to that, Myself being a 300lb Gorilla. The scooter game is far different form the early 2000's, do some research.
Went to go check out your helmet and it says SITE IS NOT SECURE.💸
As a long time rider, I find my 250cc Honda Reflex scooter as my workhorse bike. It does everything I need. I have done 300mi rides on it. Ridden daily in Chicago -15 degrees winters. It just goes.
That was my first scooter
Do you have any advice for riding in a big city besides gear?
@@wemane6361, pay attention to areas that could collect water or areas where snow is piled up. As it melts you get trails of water that can freeze into ice slicks.
Niceee
You must be using heated gloves.
What I like with scooters are that no shifting is required, and they have a fair amount of storage space. Pretty practical for a run to the shops.
Scooters excel at that
I see shops love scooters because you spend your money there😂 shops should have dedicated scooter drive throughs too. Every car owner should have a scooter for those quick shop trips😂
I commute and shop on mine.
Italy runs on 150cc-300cc scooters. The national average is two scooters per household.
Have you seen Italy lacks actual roads for cars? It's unlike America
very simple if you want a comfy daily/commuter with lots of storage space and weather protection (yes it can totaly replace a car) get a GT Scooter like Honda Forza or Yamaha Tmax... they are fast enough, they are cheap to drive with minimum maintenance.
Used to have a Honda Silverwing 600cc scooter. Rode it from Chicago to Phoenix and back years back. It was a very comfortable and enjoyable ride.
Yea, my Maxi-Scooter & 250cc dual sport are my 2 fav bikes I’ve ever owned. Hope you’re doing great CC! Stay safe out there.
We need to bring back CycleScootah 🤣
And Bugout Scootah haha
I just got a 2023 BMW C400GT and am loving the scooter life right now! I can do just about everything on this and it's a blast to ride around on.
Great subject, I bought a new 2022 Honda NAVI, first time out in the US.1807 msrp...It's a 110 cc and automatic transmission and gets approx 110 miles per gallon ..It is a great around the town or camp bike..I ride it whenever I can and it has saved me a ton in gas money..I still ride my Mighty Suzuki DRZ400s dual sport but this Honda is a great addition to my stable...
reading this makes me want the NAVI even more now haha! Thanks for sharing!
Just got my first scooter. Heck at 90mpg u can laugh at me all u want. I will be the one laughing at the gas station! 😊
I have a Honda Valkyrie 1800 and I still want to get the Honda Super Cub 125. Looks like a ton of fun and easier for dense city traffic.
I forget which model it is, but one of the big BMW bikes is (or at least was) entirely made by Kymco, which also makes engines and other stuff for them.
i go on grom rides pretty often and there’s always a few scooter bros out there rip in it up and having fun
You can get a Suzuki Burgman 650 and that alone will be good enough for highway cruising
i think you could rip mad with that thing. There is someone with one near my house.
Yeah that is cool but I would get the TMax, Yamaha all day for me.
Burgman, the Suzuki halfabusa
I have both, vfr800 and 150cc scooter/motorcycle. They both fit nicely in my assigned parking spot, both are older and relatively cheap to insure and run. The scooter keeps miles off my Honda and is nicer when it gets hot
Insurance on scooters is dirt cheap and they last forever on a tank of fuel.
Had a 2004 VFR... beautiful machine..
👍👍👍👍👍👍 😊
I started on a 500W electric bicycle in 2012. (self built & still got it) 😄
I went on to a scooter because in the state I live in a 500W electric bike is illegal to ride on the streets.
You nailed it..scooters are a blast! 1 motorcycle and 2 scooters in my fleet. My Honda Helix is probably my favorite 2 wheeler of all time.
For me i'm getting three things
1 : scooter
2 : hard tail mountain bike or Hybrid bicycle .
3 : KLX300 dual sport
I probably won't ride the dual sport much.
I bought a Benelli 135 I absolutely love the bike ive wanted a mini moto for a long time and with gas my wife gave me the go ahead.
Check out that kymco AK550
Under 10k
Comes with heated grips
Goes I think 125mph
The xmax300 is a great choice too!!
AK550 tops out at 104 mph
@@yukonjack. thanks!!
A lot of those big scooters have a lot of space for stuff. Some of them you can even carry golf clubs under the seat. The really big ones take some practice at stops though, because there is a balance you have to maintain between the gas and the brakes.
🤣🤣
I love my Keeway for cruising in the countryside but got an cyclone RT1 for daily driving in town.
I for one would love to see you return to your scooter roots!
Scooter's are more practical especially in NYC, 12 hate motorcycles here
I got a Dual sport, a cruiser, and a scooter.
@@josh8494 You could always get a trike kit put on a two wheeler or buy a trike outright.
@@yukonjack. That's a hell of a thing for you to say to me. We were friends.
Plus I've had plenty of motorcycle's small and big thinking of getting a 2015 yamaha r3 with only 330 miles on it to mess around and have fun on
.
i have a duke 390 that i use mostly in the city... i gained a lot of mobility compared to driving a car, but soon i noticed some things that i was missing that would be solved by a proper +300cc maxiscooter, which has lots of storage just under the seat (2 helmets + jacket/backpack+ waterproof vest+gloves+chain/locker)
so i am seriously thinking about getting a yamaha xmax 300 and sell the duke, and whenever i miss again a proper motorcycle i go for a 700-900cc travel motorcycle
or another solution would be going straight to get a tracer7 with storage and see how it behaves on the highway, and use that as a multipurpose bike for daily and travel/fun
whenever i drive my duke 390 at highway speeds (120kmh) its really messy, i have to reduce some speed to be comfortable with the wind (down to 100-110kmh) and all the cars pass me, which is also super uncomfortable/dangerous (as if riding a bike wasnt)
its a fun bike for twisties, amazing value... but honestly its too light and "naked"
I think that buying a naked is the number one begginers mistake... we just see how powerful, technological, and how amazingly cool they look, and forget about practicality... because at the end of the day they are only good city bikes but with the big inconvenience of carrying your stuff with you all the time
they can do everything, but they arent good at anything really
I might get a Honda PCX for light duty errands. It would be a nice contrast to my F750GS.
I really like the honda ruckus 😅
I love scooters and bikes but I have a passion for old vespa
I recently bought a kaabo mantis & love that thing.. so much fun.
I know a few riders that can wheelie their scooters. Come out to the DTLA Friday night ride. You will see many scooters bringing it up 😁👍
Hello to everyone how's everybody today.
The movie Larry Crowne with Tom Hanks features all kinds of scooters.
P.S. if you purchase the available side cases for the burgman, and use the 56liter Givi top case I have, you'll have a whopping 162liters of total storage space (possibly more)
@@dr.jiIIaIicecooper2587 I'm gonna write you. Dm me your address so I could write you 😉
CycleCruza has no scootah?? I've been riding all kinds of motorcycles for about 20 years. Right now I'm riding a Honda Forza 350. I bought it because I can use it everyday. It is way more practical than a regular motorcycle. I just notice I use it a lot more than my previous motorcycles. It just helps me with my life/work balance. I enjoy my daily commutes on a scootah!!
I love my 150cc Scooter. I couldn't justify a motorcycle even though I'd like one. My scooter can haul things out of the box, no need for tones of accessories.
I have 2021 Harley fatbob 114 and I have a 14 Honda forza nss300 scooter, I love riding my scooter more than my Harley
The way scooters handle around corners though….. lol, been there done that. Those fancy new scooters probably handle a lot better.x300 2021 my 🏍
I have a HONDA PCX 150 and i love it if the ADV 350 comes to the US i may buy it
as long as you talked about scooter and you are thinking of buying an old T-max then you should consider buying a Honda silver wing 600cc it has 55 liter storage under seat and very powerful scooter as well it has 120 miles speedometer
that's very true my friend went on holiday hired a scooter crashed it and nearly lost his foot and to this day that same foot courses him trouble 😮
Love all your bikes. You are the luckiest rich man alive...
I live in a very crowded city in Europe, scooters are the way to go here
5:00 context for that pic for anyone curious: major bridges in Taiwan have motorcycle-designated lanes. Pictured is the Taipei bridge which crosses over a major river, linking Taipei with New Taipei/metropolitan Taipei. Scooters are king in Taiwan, being the motorbike capital of the world, and they weave all over the place like a swarm of incects. It's very crazy and kind of scary
Cant wait to watch later. Just traded my tmax for a zero s though. Still have the Benelli
Small bore life! 6' 3" on a 2019 Monkey!
I’m giving peak Honda and Fey Myers’s Honda excellent service ratings!😅
Sorry Cruza I just can’t do the scooter. But in Italy that was my main transportation, I will never look back to those days. Call it Ego
My old neighbor had a Honda ruckus with a suzuki rm250 two stroke engine
Hell yea, you should get the Tmax!
That will be awesome to watch. people rock them in my country and you can custom the shit out of it to the point you can power wheelie all day :D
I think scooters are like fat girls, they are fun to ride until your friends catch you. 😄
What’s more stable or more comfortable on the highway, say. a Honda Rebel 300, a Honda PCX 160? Big difference?
CC, KYMCO is pronounced KIM-Co
Kymco is pronounced KIM-CO, yes Taiwanese's, not Chinese. Had a Kymco xciting 500 maxi scooter and toured the country on it for years. Put 80,000 miles on it. Longest day was 1,004 miles. Only break down was the stator between 40-50,000 miles.
Nice! I nearly bought a Kymco 300. Cool scoots.
I'm good with my Suzuki M50 & M109R getting 57 & 48 mpg :P
Well hot damn this goes to my recommended vids while a friend of mine offers to sell a scooter same as rossi’s but bigger displacement for dirt cheap.. to be fair I’ve been eying one for months as I’m getting older and I need less stress on my back.. I’ve had supermotos, bobbers and sport naked bikes that have good handlebar placement for my back but I need something that I don’t get tempted into speeding every time I get bored..
I can’t really decide if I want a big scooter drivers license or a small motorcycle license
What a coincidence, I just got a Forza 350, it's so damn comfortable and practical and smooth I'm selling my sport bike and riding it purely.
Started on a Honda Ruckus, stretched it did the whole 9 yards, then went to CB300F, then ' 17 Triumph Bonneville Bobber, now '22 DRZ400SM
I run my scooter to work all week and save the harley and CBR600 for the weekends.
Love my Elite 250
