I’ve learned that big swim baits work best with slow reeling and every 10-15 cranks jerk your rod to make it act sporadic, it’ll trigger a strike. I do it with my 8 inch 5oz glide bates and crank 8-10lb bass with that motion.
I live not to far in Bethalto, IL but awesome vids I am planning on getting back into the hobby of fishing. My grandpa's brother was going to take him fishing but never did because he passed away when they were in their late 20s. So out of hearing the stories he told of his brother I plan on getting a new fishing license when the new card comes out March 1st and taking my grandpa out to go fishing.
I like how you get straight to the content, not allot of other channels do that and i appreciate thay bro, keep up the good work and im looming forward to seeing your upcoming vidjas😂
Hey Nick - always great videos! My son just got me a "3 pack" of these lures. I'm hoping I have some of the same luck you had when I give them a try. Thanks for the demo challenge!
I'm a sucker for cheap!! I actually several of the 3 to 5 inch segmented lures from Japan in Trout and bream styles ( sometimes 5/$10) and they are more beautiful than $50 handpainted ones. That carp scale was big enough to mount. Good video.
Yo, Bass living a dangerous life going after a Pike ;) I’ve seen some tiny pike do real damage to some big fish! I suppose perhaps the Bass are trying to cull the Pike before they get even bigger XD EDIT: Ok. Since there are no pike in the pond, maybe they just hate competitors in general ;)
That's why I use fity to sixty-five pound braid with for swimbaiting. But yes, those Lixada baits are never bad for a surprise. I bend the hooks out way too easily tho, so I switched them out on all of the ones I used so far.
One of the top pike or musky lure in my opinion now not that one maybe at least the 20cm size up to the 30cm when trolling for the big pike we have in the reservoir and lakes we have here in Ireland biggest is 38lb 8oz that has been officially weighted by lake officials in one of my local lake's in Dublin and it was safely returned to hopefully get bigger and breed many more like her we get most are mid 20 pounders out trolling the summer months and then on dead bait's during the winter months sorry got a bit of track lol
Nick! go back to your roots and do a throwback video. Go back to the same tiny creek spots where you caught all of the baby bluegill! It would be so awesome.
"Go fishing all morning, catch a few nice fish, get a youtube notification from 618, watch as he catches his biggest bass this year" Today is a great day 😁
You finally left that little pond of yours for a bigger one, nice. Enjoy the content. Currently sitting in my car eating a sandwich because I’m supposed to go fish in a couple hours and this gives me motivation. Keep it up!
I like top water lures like like the Rapala and a shallow diver by Berkley that said guaranteed to catch a fish on the First cast. And it did and every cast afterwards. It looks like a shad chartreuse in color white belly rattles pretty awesome though wishing made them bigger to attract a larger fish
That second pond is stocked with bass. I'm sure they are fed occasionally. They could be caught just as well with a moving bare hook. I guess it's confirmation that the lure works, but catching fish in that pond is hardly anything to get excited about.
I have the same swimbait except mine has a bill on it. Bought it a few years ago and never had much luck. Might have to break it out and give it the old college try again. Awesome vid, keep up the great work!!

I actually own a couple of these lures . I smash bass and pike also get a few bowfin on them . I love these lures . 👍👍👊 Oh yeah !! I almost forgot get the blue one . ( trust me!!! )
The most amazing thing is that I’ve never heard this man use profanity. When I lose a nice fish it usually isn’t my most spiritual moments to say the least. 😂😂😂

Videos are perfect... the music is perfect and not loud. More importantly you make fishing fun again. Thank you for all your hard work... kudos
Can say it enough man, love your videos, love the intros, the camera angles, everything is always spot on
Thank you!!

Must agree
“See you later buddy” on the inanimate object makes me laugh every time. Keep up the good work Nick!
He says you wouldn't be that upset to get it hung up and then ..........immediately gets hung up lol 😂. 👊👍
I 100% jinxed myself 😅
Don't think I have ever seen anyone throw a stick fish back... and the see ya later buddy to go with it. Great episode man!
I would call 10$ expensive can't imagine 100$ lure
$10 bucks for a lure is a lot. I go to the big bin at bass pro and get 5 for that.
I make lures for fun and i ask about 20$ for them, i just make them for fun but it still takes me about 7 hours to make 6inch swimbait
Lol then never go musky fishing some of my baits are 50-70 dollars
@@02jeepwj Yup, and then you backlash and lose the flipping thing. My dad had that happen to a $30 bucktail he had. Buy them to lose them.
The most I pay for lures is like $8 and that’s for a frog lure lol
i bought one of those lures about a year ago, took it to my local lake... First cast the line snapped lol.
Yeah but do you say "see ya later buddy"...
Could be your problem 🤔
@@SLEEPYJK no 🙁
Coin Collecting 2001 I refuse to buy high end lures anymore. They’re an absolute guarantee to lose on the first cast
Stronger line or stronger knot. If neither of those work, it’s the bait’s fault.
😂👍👍
the slow retrieve is always good. you are really bringing it into ambush points for the predator's to hit it. nice 4lb bass sir.
Snagged , that’s how I fish.
Lake Erie, full of all sorts of garbage on the bottom. And sand bars. But there is a wide variety of fish. Wouldn't want to eat anything outta there.

I bought that lure on Amazon and tried it out. Decent action and caught 3 bass/several follows in 4 hours
it doesnt take me to the lure but takes me to a different one
"Holly Cow, What two nice Bass!!" Good job !!👍
Thought that was a gator @ 9:40!
Awesome catches Nick!
lol
I thought I saw it too
I’ve seen 7 or 8 giant green grass carp in my pond and also some gar catfish and a alligator snappingturtle
Now that is a damn nice bass for these waters we fish in! Nice work!
I have a feeling you're going to be the cause of them selling a lot of those lures

Won't get big by eating little lol
Bass are voracious anyting they can get in their mouth they'll eat.
@@russdog06 just like my mother in law
My uncle caught two pike at once on one hook once. Smaller pike went after his bait and a massive pike went after the small pike lol

If you wanna come fishing some day let me know man. I’m in the 618 and would love to take you out. I’ve even got your sticker on my boat! Anna IL
That was definitely a carp because I had to clean up the dead carp at Hueston Woods State Park beach several years ago. 😻🥰😘😍💕❤️🐺🦊
I usually just fish plastics, but you give me hope I can catch fish with hard baits. Thank you

Do a Marling Baits challenge!

You should fish some new ponds I would love to see it

I was on a big sectional swim bait kick last year. I replaced trebles with inline hooks to mitigate injuring the fish. They're really good though.

I got the 12 inch one for $20 4 months ago and I'm getting hyped to use it!!!
@@joshman2282 that's why they sink and that's why they are cheap too for such a big bait
Zoom so? you can get away with throwing them on a heavy rod. but anyone throwing swimbaits should just invest in a dedicated swimbait set up.
Thank you again for a great time fishing 🎣 fun
Id be mad over$10. I lost a $12 one last week. Still hurt over it.
