Dad and son double header like that.... just priceless. This is probably one of my favorite videos from your channel just for that moment alone @BlacktipH
Man I love your videos, wish you guys weren't so mean to mike tho, you could just teach him how to fish. I don't know mike in person and I know a lot gets edited out of all of your videos, so I can't say that you are wrong for treating him the way you do. Also I'm not sure why your channel hasn't blown up, your name is badass, you guys know what you are doing and get super hyped for these fish. My favorite part of this video is when the captain showed the rig and what and how he's throwing it out there. If you were more descriptive on how to catch the fish and what you are feeling, what to do in certain scenarios, a couple tips here and there i know I'd appreciate it haha. Wish I could go out with you guys but I'm west coast
Noob to the fishing world, but are there hooks that can be used instead of the normal ones so that the release of the fish with the hook still in it can be avoided?
What's up black tips I was wondering if you had any tips on how to catch fish off a beach? I haven't had any luck and I think I might be doing something wrong
Shadowwave228 catch smaller fish with live bait(shrimp). Cut it in half or chunks , get it out into 6-10 feet of water depth. You'll get one , just be ready
Shadowwave228 josh has a vid on rigging shark baits. I use 2ft steel cable. And have 8oz pyramid weight on its own leader that's about 6inches long. Make sure you tape your casting finger and tighten your drag before you cast, that braid can cut deep.
Im a lifelong fan guys and a south florida pro on kites. Dont be preaching BLUE RUNNERS!!! LOL. But seriously, I rememember they were a choice bait in yhe 90s for snoots. Not quite the case anymorw anymore. And take those clickers of!! Blacktip H....only channel Ive ever subscribed too.
You need alot more than 280 yards of line even. I do land based kayak shark fishing all the time and usually you start with your bait out at least 100 yards. To stop them before they spool you means high drag and heavy line. Also you never know what you are going to hook. I use a minimum of 350-400 yards of 50-65lb braid for my small shark setups. Heavy stuff I use has over 1000 yards of line switching between 100lb braid and a few hundred yard 150-200lb mono top shot. Might seem excessive but you really do need to use pretty beefy gear. A good sized blacktip or spinner will take 100 yards of line before you can blink and bulls, lemons, tigers, and hammers will just keep right on trucking until all your line is gone. Not nice to leave big hooks in a sharks mouth so gear should be heavier than you need because you never know what will happen.
My pops is telling me that chartering a yacht nowadays can cost thousands.. Not been in so many years. Back around '90 we took the Marathon Lady out and I think he said it was like 75 bucks, that's a party boat though.. Any hungry charter captains reading in SW Fla or the keys hit me up on a good price. I'll 2nd or 3rd mate for discount. Better yet, anyone need a first mate full time?
Great video and seriously nice fish! If my youtube channel ever takes off, can I please come fish with you or even film for you! Love fishing soooooo much! Have a great day!
Tons of different rods and reels out there man. All depends on what you're willing to pay, what you want to fish for, and whether you'll be fishing from a boat or shore.
Josh, are the fin-nor reels you used in the Dude Perfect shark battle good, strong quality, because i was looking at the LT80. Or you can direct me to another reel.
Hey, I want to buy an affordable, portable, surf fishing setup for small and medium sized fish in SoCal beaches. I was looking at a 9' Penn Fierce 2 6000 combo. Also, should I go for 40lb PowerPro braid with a 40lb Mono leader, or should I go straight mono? I'm trying my best to save money. Also recommend me a hook size for this kind of fishing. Thanks!
AlmostAlive you're probably not gonna be catching too many big fish most anglers I know in so Cal use smaller reals and 10-20 pound line at most. Unless you are goin for sand sharks which might get a tad bigger
Josh, is 50lb braid good for sharks like blackcaps and smaller and I'm looking for a little heavier reel for sharks and amber jacks, but i don't want a bait caster, are there any good big spinning reels for less than $200? Thanks.
The photographer is so commited to what he does and takes amazing pictures

How often do you go fishing
+Sam Boggiano 2-3 times per week.
Sam Boggiano i would ask the same question?
How much line do you need for land based shark fishing? For small sharks(3-5 ft)? For medium sized sharks(6-8 ft)?
For small sharks, at least 230 yards of 40lb braid, and for medium at least 280 yards of 50/65lb braid, hope this helps!!
Not nice to leave big hooks in a sharks mouth so gear should be heavier than you need because you never know what will happen.
The Wanderer the kayak is used to paddle the bait out...
Final question, Josh is 50lb braid at 250+yards good enough for blacktips and similar sized fish?
Only one way to find out ;)

+Corrupted Fishing The new Daiwa Black & Golds are much better.

Braid will be thinner and more resistant and what are you gong for?

Penn fierce II would be fine. use good leader and 200lb snap swivel.

#slobcity for the win!
What rod do you recommend for sail fish
Ben Cozzens any heavy duty action rod is fine I uses shimano 250 find what you can afford and good luck!
Yes 😁😁
Yea what bait is it

If you have the budget, I would recommend getting one custom built to meet your specs.
Does anyone ever get skunked when they fish with Blacktip? This video was insane.
