I did the same but my nodemcu just got dead. i am in a very tough situation to buy a new esp8266, mine just turned off after i build a wifi car and never turned on, everything looks okay, but it doesnt work, if u help me, i would be ever grateful.

did u follow the circuit diagram,or u connect the node mcu in 12v port in motor driver
