Hey guys! I can’t believe we FINALLY get to share this video with you!! This project has been over a year in the making! It all started when Andrew requested a cover of this song by Pat Benatar, and suggested I sing it as Ariel. That got me thinking about how to translate the song into a Little Mermaid inspired music video. We later expanded the story to include more of our favorite Disney Princesses and characters, and of course, I couldn’t not set it in the 1980s, when this song first came out, and when Ariel herself was “born!” This year is The Little Mermaid’s 30th Anniversary, so we thought it would be fun to bring Ariel into the era when the movie came out, and make it a #RadicalRollerDisney 80s party! We wanted to pay homage to the glamorous and strange fog-filled 80’s music vids that we all love so much, and this is the result! Ever since doing our 1920s and Rococo Disney inspired projects, I’ve had requests to try out the 80s with these characters, so thanks also to everyone who asked for an 80s Disney project over the past couple years! Here's an idea: there's a style of dress called the mermaid tail. You could do a prom Ariel cosplay with that style and do some sort of skit/music video/cover of another already existing song like you did with the spice girls and your friends.

I'm late to the party, sorry! This is so cool and even though the singing, costuming and everything was so great, what stuck out to me was how gorgeous the other princesses were with Ariel. They were like sisters helping her with her outfits and make-up 'cos they knew she was new to town/on land :)

Hey Patrick, thanks so much for your support! It means so much to me that you like my videos and work that much! Thanks so much for taking the time to watch them! I'm definitely very concerned about COPPA, and to be completely honest I'm unsure of my future on youtube right now. I'm not planning to leave, but it's definitely worrisome to find out that my content could be considered "targeted at children" simply because I sing Disney music and enjoy the fandom. My videos are absolutely for everyone, not just kids of course! So it feels like a lie for me to claim either way. I so wish they had an "everyone" button when distinguishing ya know? I definitely have more adults watching my content at this point too demographically, so I guess we'll see how this all pans out next year. It's scary to hear my content might be removed from searches because of COPPA or have all engagement options removed. I want kids to be safe and protected at all costs, but I don't agree that this is the best way the FTC & RUclips should do it. I think this is going to encourage so much less quality content that's family friendly, and that makes me really sad. I'm definitely having a hard time with it, and I've considered making a video about it. One thing I can tell you though is, regardless of how youtube treats my content, I'll still keep making it. If youtube becomes a place where viewing my content is difficult, then I'll start using other platforms as well to share it on. Right now I'm also posting regularly to my Instagram and Patreon, so at least those who follow me those 2 places will be able to see the new video content. (-: I might move over to Facebook and more on twitter too, but we'll see! It means a lot that you're concerned for me and my fellow family-friendly creators! @@TraciHinesMusic Of course, I know that Jodi Benson is the 1 and only (Animated) Ariel, but Halle Bailey (NOT Berry :), as well as Au'li’li Cravahol, JoAnna García Swisher, Julianne Moore, and many others including you will ALWAYS continue to keep Ariel alive, but that’s just the thing: Without the Love and Support from people like you and all of us other fans who love Ariel, she would NOT be remembered, or popular enough to have anything beyond her original film. In that sense, because we continue to tribute, celebrate and consume (therefore “feeding” the existence of) Ariel, we are truly keeping her alive. The original movie, let alone original voice, despite all that the truly are is not simply enough, I mean to use an example, you and others would probably agree how questionable something like Avatar which up until this year was the highest grossing move of all time, will continue to overall truly be "alive" when its sequels come out. Likewise, to use something more recent, everything was truly awesome for The LEGO Movie when it started out only half a decade ago, only to have its last 2 movies, including this year’s direct sequel, downright flop, despite its multiple popular and successful brand properties.
Despite their successes, you just don't see as much love for them like you do with something like the Disney Princesses; it is because of that and people like you who continue to love and celebrate it that keeps it truly alive. You could also say because all of this that WE the fans, NOT even Disney themselves truly own these fandom properties, for this kind of love and support is what is and ALWAYS will truly keep these properties around NO MATTER WHAT. They'll NEVER be truly gone, not as long as there are those who remain loyal to and continue to “feed" their existence, just as I and others will do for you and other You Tube Creators that we love regardless of What happens with COPPA :)
