I read the book and it was wonderful. Ashley’s childhood was unstable and she was left alone for long periods of time while The Judd’s were touring. It seems like she pretty much raised herself.

    She Handled that with Class.

    She’s a Great Role Model.💖

Ashley is a wounded healer -- clearly still very much on her personal journey of growth. Thankfully, we are able to help people because of our scars, not in spite of them. Kudos to you Ashley -- for giving back instead of giving in or retaliating. "Life is 10% of what happens to us, 90% of how we react to it."

She puts her bad experiences in her book but doesn't want to talk about them. I see, use the sordid, sensational stories to sell books ( which is how celebrities really make the big bucks ) and then disregard them otherwise.

The horror that any child should suffer abuse is unacceptable. Abusers should be sent to prison. Everyone has a responsibility to speak up to prevent these crimes against children. We owe that to our most vulnerable members of society. Ashley is such a strong and amazing person who spoke about her own abuse yet has accomplished and contributed so much. Bravo to her.

Exactly , WYNONNA and her talent is what allowed this family to become part of the celebrity and wealthy world . Ashley and Naomi are so much alike - I think Naomi taught Ashley how to create a storyline to keep people interested and to speak with an above average vocabulary- it seems Ashley speaks with a vocabulary of word games that makes people not question the validity of the story .
I have always felt Ashley and Naomi missed their calling as Publicist!
WYNONNA IS THE ONE WITH THE RAW TALENT THAT IS SO AMAZING !
Say what you want , but look at the number of people that attempt to become actors everyday - talent or no talent - Ashley became famous because she was the sister of WYNONNA JUDD !

    • @reesemorgan2259

@@WoofItDown Ashley is a very decent actress and a very beautiful woman. Beauty shouldn't matter that much - but in showbiz it just does. It did when she was in her 'hey day' and it does now. I think Weinstein sabotaged her career as he did so many others. Ashley Judd was everywhere at one point. She should have stayed at the top, making high-profile films. We know why she didn't. With that face, natural grace and intelligence - she was always going to make it. Wynonna is a gifted singer and Naomi was a gifted show woman and (occasional) songwriter. Talented family. You don't have to pick a camp.

A good woman makes all the difference. For the right woman, a man is inspired, driven and filled with the Light she brings to his life. Once lifted up by that Light, from having the right woman in his life, a man can truly build, truly grow and truly conquer -- first his own demons, as that's a prerequisite to truly achieving anything else, and then anything that stands in the way of reshaping their world to be... better, happier for him and his woman. The greatest things happen this way.

Ashley is far from prententious. She has always been wise beyond her years and her personal truth doesn't need to be sliced open unless she wants to reveal anything else further. It is horrifying to be the victim of incest, child molesting and rape. One really has to be braindead to not relive the horror from time to time. For those of you who have lived your life in a fishbowl, please respect that.

I don’t know what she endured (haven’t read her story as she was SO uncomfortable with those pages about herself ) and I don’t want to pry into what she shared hoping to see if there was identifiable things). So I gather it’s mostly about her work helping others and that’s beautiful. My best friend had ptsd from a horrific childhood resulting in cyclical depression every winter . She seems bipolar but really shut down several months at a time only to resurface and resume talking every day or other day …until she couldn’t. She just couldn’t hold on any longer, the depression got worse in recent years. She committed suicide. I missed it. I was her best friend as well. She, too, did NOT want to talk about a lot of things. We were friends over 50+ years and I suspect that’s why I knew so much …it was a LOT of talking.

  • @ANGELSVEN

The interviewer, Alina Cho, was very manipulative in this interview. She tried to steer Ashely from one topic right into the suicide topic without letting Ashley finish. Fortunately - and I'm not at all surprised -, Ashley ignored the woman's rudeness and continued with the topic until she was finished addressing it. THEN the woman again made her feel uncomfortable by almost forcing her to talk about a topic Ashley didn't want to talk about. I now disrespect Alina Cho. Ashley rises above.

Female DallasTx she is not tacky to me because when you suffer as a child and if you listen to Wy and her mom they talk about the struggles of the Judd household. She wrote her feelings and her sister and mom did it on u-tube and that was painful to watch them go through their healing. She wrote her truth but I heard that there is more about her than that part of her life. She has used that learning to help others. Rather than judge her for not wanting to speak about that part of her life get the book and you will be in the know. I believe she has come through to the other side pretty well and is doing something good. It’s easy to judge them as they are in the world spy glass but think about how you would feel about that if you were in her shoes. Some actors/people take that opportunity to get more attention because that is what they crave and therefore in my opinion are not healed. She has or is trying to move on. I say bravo
