el pasado simple no es solamente para acciones que ya se terminaron, ejemplo: yo lei un libro, yo leo el mismo libro, y no he terminado de leer el libro.Buena clase Felicitaciones.

While I was doing the exercises I doubted with the last one because the other way around had sense as well
I think that the lioness was eating.
First one: perfect / second one: ... the lioness was eating (two thins happening at the same time) / third one: perfect / the last one: my intention was : the fire went out when I was getting changed. However, yours makes sense too, so both are right. I am glad you tried it, Ricardo. Well done!

Excelente explicación!! Yo siempre pensé que when no iba nunca seguido de pasado continuo pero con tu ejemplo me quedó claro! Sin embargo, vi un video en donde la persona decía: When she was driving, she saw an accident!"..es esto caso esta oración equivale a: When she was delivering her speech, she fainted? Pues el conducir fue interrumpido por ver el accidente..pero puedo decir: She was driving when she saw the accident? Gracias de antemano!
