MTA NYC Subway: (E) (F) (M) (R) (7) & (7X) trains at Jackson Heights - Roosevelt Ave / 74 St

Today's film features some E/F/M/R/7/7X train action at the Jackson Heights - Roosevelt Ave / 74 St station complex in Jackson Heights, Queens.
Jackson Heights - Roosevelt Ave is one of the most busiest express stations in Queens. This is primarily because customers can interchange between locals and expresses here as well as to/from the 7. Keep in mind also that it is "sandwiched" in between 5 local stations in both directions. The 7 line is elevated above the station at 74 St - Broadway. The 7X DOES NOT serve here.

This is one of my favorite NYC Subway stations. There is pretty much constant train movements especially during peak hours and the underground portion is very clean and well kept (except for the rat).

I love how you can look down the tunnel and it's just darkness with a bunch of lights and rails reflecting those lights, it's kinda beautiful

Before Archer Ave opened, the E used to go express to 179th Street and the F ran local east of Forest Hills. When Archer Ave opened, the E went there and the F started going express to 179th. The R was extended to 179th to cover the local stops 75th Ave, Briarwood, Sutphin Blvd, and 169th Street. This didn't work out because people at those stations lost express service to Manhattan since the F went express at Forest Hills while the R stayed local, so sometime in the early 90's it was changed to the current service pattern.
