What happens if you don’t wax the cradle board and you glue down photo copy paper with wax already on that looks good.I don’t want to fuse it because the other wax I put on that copy paper will melt. And if I put wax on top it will probably melt the under? Do you kinda know what I am saying?
I can’t get my boards smooth at all! I only use a heat gun. I had a close call with a torch & nearly burned down my house. How hot should the heat gun be? How do I get these smooth? I’m so frustrated. Thank you!!
it is not the heat of the gun- part is to make sure you apply your wax to a warm board and use a big brush. Then with a heat gun, you need to not be too close (you don't want to move the wax) and you take your time to smooth the wax. It takes practice- my first 5 years i used a heat gun but finally had a lesson with a torch. It takes practice for both and patience.
Your link for the Iwatani torch on Amazon actually pulls up a hake brush. Would you mind sending me the link to your torch please? I love this set up video. Thank you for posting it.

I've got budgies in my art studio too. 12 of them!
When you’re ready to actually use your prepped board do you heat it up again?
My wax builds up around the edges of the surface, it didn’t look like yours was doing that. How can I prevent this?
I wonder why my wax doesn’t go on that smooth
Thank you for the video. Do you use the same technique for large boards such as 24" x 36" or 36" x 36"?
