fully agree martin best track on the album followed by time........... pity chas isnt with them but all good things must end just isint same without him ...............
Imagine how hard it would have been to change with the times when you were already had such a standalone sound? I think they did as good a job as could be expected, considering the pressure to follow the 1,000's of bands going synth. But I also, of course, appreciate and respect Suggs views and feelings about having to make these choices. For some, synths were a crutch. Madness, tho. Madness. Wow. They are musicians through and through.
Suggs referred to the album as a “polished Turd” in relation to the over production of the album which was common in the 80s. The use of CMI Fairlight and drum machines are evident in this album, still a great underrated album.
Could be an anthem for today's world!
Beautiful track by an amazing band all the way around. So thankful for every amazing track they have graced upon the world.

This really should have been the lead single off this album back In 1985. They picked all the wrong songs to be singles at this time.
My favourite vocals from Suggs! Soul!

Best pop song on the album
Dave Robinson was the single picker in their days of Stiff, I'm sure he would have picked this as a single.
Tao, Tap, Tap, birds that sing.. the old days after a gram of whizz.🙄😂
First song of Madness in which I hear harmonica.
Judd Landor who did Karma Chameleon.
Only other harp l can think of is Baggy Trousers and Tomorrow's Just Another Day
They did a version of Yesterdays Men with a harmonica.
Now I know why Suggs called this album "a perfectly synthesized turd".
He's wrong, it's incredible
50% of this album is very good, the other 50% filler.
