That's not a terrible suggestion at all. Sure they would like a change of scenery and some extra funds for Christmas. They could get some info about filming their own projects for some additional side money Hope there is time between reading your post and when the pour takes place
This was a very interesting segment. It is great Devon was able to help you. Not many companies or businesses would help like that. Hats off to Devon and his crew. Roman has been a great addition to your family/videos.😊
Please tell Devin, thank you from your RUclips family for the valuable lessons you learned on this trip. I know your confidence has gone to 100% with the hands-on experience you learned.
Hats off to Devon! I like when companies like his are willing to share and help people others. Speaks volumes about them and only helps make the community better. And have fun with those forms I will look forward to watching you freeze with them by my wood stove 😂. You have alot of work ahead of you guys! Awesome job so far!
The Perkins Builder Brothers here on YT have used these EXACT concrete forms this past summer on the house they are currently building. I'd recommend watching their videos for any tips i.e. when they went to take the forms off if there were any major tips if they made a mistake you can learn from
Did the part of why they flew to Wyoming go right over your head??😂 why watch someone on RUclips make mistakes and bang their fingers and still learn what? They just went and worked a combined full time work week hours wise to learn how to do it 😂😂 the conclusion to his video was “we learned a lot…. Made some mistakes that hopefully we won’t repeat”
I am 82 years old and set a lot of forms in my time, but we did it a lot different back in my day and I wished we had the forms you are using, we had rods with catheads for our forms some time we got poor quality rods and if you poured a 12' wall it might blow our. So really enjoyed watching you showing how they do it now. Thank You.
What an extremely valuable job shadowing that was for you two. This is going to help out 10 fold. Devin and the crew, extremely nice guys... and actually close neighbors... I'm just across the state line from Wyoming. Wyoming is such amazing country, it has all of the beauty one could ask for in one state...
Devin and his crew were generous with their time and training. It was interesting to watch the process. Labor intensive. I'm happy you made it home safely. ❤
Glad you guys are back home safe. Can't wait to see you guys put what you have learned to the test. Would love to see the video of the kids welcoming you guys home.
A lot learned and Devon was super nice to have y’all on site. Would be good to show the tools list you will have for the pour. May be good to rent two concrete vibrators as it will take a while to drop it down each rebar section during the pour. The light generator may be necessary also since it’s dark at 5 o’clock now. Not sure how those turbo heaters are going work as they emit exhaust in the heat, which means you can’t be inside tent which will be an issue. Wonder if you can rent one similar to what Devon used.
I think that Devin got a great deal with 2 very hard working men in exchange for teaching them what goes on in putting up those walls. We all know Roman is a hard worker, but so is Cole when he is shown what needs to be done. And neither are afraid of asking questions in order to do the project correctly.
You need a t-shirt with roman smelling coffee with the caption "i have Butterfly's" brilliant line. lol, keep up the amazing work, so looking forward to you two being back at the farm and working on the basement/ house extension 😀
Cole that was a very interesting video and I can only say one thing about that type on work that is definitely not for the weak, the lazy or the stupid thanks for sharing
Maybe tent in your movie theater before you start. It will be more comfortable and your productivity will be higher. You eventually have to cover it anyway.
17:58 This man has some good wisdom. If there is time available you guys should meet again and do an interview to upload for your channel. From the video this man and his crew are a wealth of knowledge.
Thanks to Devin and his company for allowing them to get involved and learning hands on is the best way to learn certain trades as far as I'm concerned. Great video guys I've been learning a lot myself thank you.
Thanks to Devon and his hard working crew. They make it look like a well oil machine, that is years of hard work and learning. Shout out and a big thank you. Cole take notes and rewatch the videos, make sure you list it all down like how not to put the heads of the keys in the corners (I found that most interesting and understand the reason why) and you always know that practice makes perfect so the next time you have to fix a wall you know to put in the [ staple looking rebar to keep it from pushing out. All in all I have a great respect for folks like Devon and his crew for the work that they do in all kinds of weather (that appears to also be a factor in the work). Please be safe and enjoy the beautiful holiday season!
I haven't been on your channel for over two years and I've missed so much. Congratulations on your marriage and being a Dad. So great to see the farm moving along as well. Looking forward to catching up on what is happening down on the farm now I have the time.
Cole, get some medicated chapstick, it has the light blue label. It is a little more expensive, but it works great. Usually clears my lips up in a few days.
Oh, you're going to get to wrestle the 2'x8' Simonz forms around. Out here in the Pacific Northwest the iron workers would have a fit over carpenters tying the rebar.
How amazing of Devon and his crew to put up with you two crazies for three whole days. Honestly, a great learning experience, and Devon was amazing to invite you both. Hope you can move forward with confidence now.
Cole & Roman, how smart are you guys?! There is NOTHING that teaches better than practical experience! My hats off to you both. It is also great that you had the opportunity to work with a friend who is a pro. Great to watch you guys on your life adventure. Regards from the ADK mountains.
I'm glad that you learned first hand on how to do your walls. Very worth it. I hope you can get about 10 guys to help you. Best of luck, look forward to your progress.
I’ve never cared much for traveling, I’m more of a homebody. I enjoy my peace and quiet here on the farm. When I do travel I always look forward to returning home. There are places and things I’d like to see before I leave this world but I don’t want to travel to see them.
Ellie is going to be jealous, playing around with another Aussie. Glad you're leaning from a real pro Devon, hopefully the house project/movie theatre will go smoothly.
24:30 - That is pretty typical for all the flights I've been on which is why I use Bose noise cancelling headphones and listen to my music. or nothing at all...
Cole just a quick tip. Whe you get concrete hands . The damage for doing concrete work with out gloves. The easy fix for it. Is to take a washcloth and soak it with vinegar. Wash your hands thoroughly with the washcloth. Then re wash your hand with some and water. And repeat as necessary. Then use a good cream your hand will be baby soft the next day
Hello everyone. The importance of applying mold release oil to molds is rightly mentioned. But it lacks the precision that it is just as essential to wash (= hot water + soap + rinse) the concrete wall once unmolded if you do not want to see paint, wallpaper or carpet for example, glued or affixed directly on these walls to peel off over time due to lack of adhesion of residual oil traces. Bravo for what you do. Daniel
One thing I remember from Perkins Builders brothers is to spray oil on the forms so the concrete won't stick to the forms when you pull them off. Worth a watch. Love you guys XO
So happy you were able to shadow and learn how to do things properly. Great opportunity, thanks Devon and crew for being so wonderfully helpful with guidance and training
I was afraid your formats won't hold and you would have concrete pour out everywhere, but thanks to Devon and his team training you... I think you got this now! Glad you guess went to Wyoming to get the necessary training. Sorry you had to miss Thanksgiving. Hope you got some good family time after your trip.

I would assume they aren't considering using ICF blocks because it would probably be a real pain tying all the tons of over sized rebar together as your going up with each block. He seems to over build things at times. Im sure he will have a tone of huge rebar to try tying together inside the ICFs as your going up one block at a time. Also his wall is probably going to be twice as thick as any ICF block even available as well.
I love the smell of coffee too. The funny thing was I couldn’t stand the smell or taste when I was pregnant. I couldn’t even stand my husband brewing coffee at home. He bought coffee on the way to work.
I've lived in Minnesota, Colorado, NYC. Been to Iowa, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Illinois - all during the winter. None of these states has beat the cold, wind, and frigid environment I experienced in Wyoming. NONE. I will stake my frozen reputation that those folks who live in Wyoming can outlast any cold resident of any of the other cold frozen environs of the USA.
You better fly 3 of those guys out to help with your forms at home so it doesn’t take a month.
That's not a terrible suggestion at all.
Sure they would like a change of scenery and some extra funds for Christmas. They could get some info about filming their own projects for some additional side money
Hope there is time between reading your post and when the pour takes place
A month for Cole would be even faster than he is now LOL!!!!
Or let him do what he wants it’s not your house or money

Devon and his crew are awesome. You and Roman got a lot of great training. This is one of the best videos yet. I really enjoyed watching it

Essential Craftsman used them as well on the spec house - quite a few videos about them…

I used these same forms 35 years ago, they're not exactly a new thing.
Hands on is always the best teacher, glad you got home safely.

Devin and his crew were generous with their time and training. It was interesting to watch the process. Labor intensive. I'm happy you made it home safely. ❤
I have found your learning experience to be a fascinating trip through the creation of concrete walls! Thanks for making the effort to film so much.
What a great way to learn… and I’m sure having a couple sets of hard working hand coming to learn also helped them. Great way to learn a trade.
Glad you guys are back home safe. Can't wait to see you guys put what you have learned to the test. Would love to see the video of the kids welcoming you guys home.

Ever seen ICF forms being used Cole ? Insulated Concrete Forms important to shore up well but easy to install with added insulation

This was quite the learning experience for me as well as for you two! Thanks!
Dear Santa, All Cole wants for Christmas is a 90,000 lb. excavator. No need to wrap it.

"This alone is worth the trip." Yep, Roman. I hear you. And, yep. Boy, dodged a bullet on that one for sure!! Great seeing new things being learned.
Good trip chance to learn a lot thanks to Devon and crew for sharing knolage

To be FAIR… you should visit an ICF jobsite. It will change your mind!

Omg! You guys are amazing. Thank you Devin, so much.
Cool you guys got to see and be in the process...great job ya'll 😊
I’m Glad you’re getting some idea of what is to come!
Great video today really interesting to see and liked your explaining it.
I never encounter people who can outwork me. Not in the long haul anyway. But at 48 years old, I have to admit. Cole and Roman got me beat.🤷♂️
Maybe Roman. Not sure about Cole

Booooo.... I am all caught up again and can't binge! :) Love this series!
amazing video. Thank you guys
Shout out to Denvin and his crew. It was very generous and supportive of him to do that for you two. You were in good hands. Well done.
So happy you were able to shadow and learn how to do things properly. Great opportunity, thanks Devon and crew for being so wonderfully helpful with guidance and training

Definitely a good crew to work with and learn about pouring concrete Cole and Roman Great video
The best things about this learning experience is that you going to be able in the future to help anyone who needs help 👍👍👍👍👍👍
The way you tell stories is amazing!
Have a nice weekend.
You may want to protect your existing footer and house foundation. Frost will set in and may cause you some serious problems
After all this they better use that movie theater regularly! It better not sit as just another unused room.
A comment for the algorithm. Good job Cole and Roman. Hope you got what you needed.
Wonderful! Y’all are ready! ❤️❤️🙏❤️❤️
This was extremely interesting! Nice music Cedric.
Does Roman have a dirt mustache?? 🤣🤣🤣Love ya Roman! 🤣🤣

Does roman have a bachelor's or masters degree in coolness? Maybe a philosophy doctrine? Aint he just something!! Wash that corn hole hoodie bro.
THANK YOU, DEVON!!!
Cole you may want to order the material you will be needing for your mansion before Jan 20th when the 20% tariffs hit.

Great excursion. Funny thing on a plane i’m usually quiet once we are in the air. Seems workable with whoever i sit next to.
Hands on learning is the best teaching experience.
The Cat 345 is a beauty, was my favorite to run back in the day.
Thank you for the update señores!!!😊👍
Good job guys 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💙💙 what a beautiful part of the Country!
Great piece, thanks.
Man,that is a beautiful part of the country.
Yeah, extra money for ICF would definitely be my choice.
Good job fellas 😊
Good job guy's 😊

Your new title, Cole the concrete star!

I enjoyed seeing and hearing Devon and the guy you left your pin exreaction to, lol, poor guy will be cursing you.
what brand are those cool head lamps that are like half moons?
I'm with Roman, nothing like the aroma of good coffee. The smell is the nose taste of great coffee. Great coffee, great day.
I love the smell of coffee too. The funny thing was I couldn’t stand the smell or taste when I was pregnant. I couldn’t even stand my husband brewing coffee at home. He bought coffee on the way to work.
Mmmmmm coffee!!!!!
Did i miss the mould release discussion. Nobody seems to mention the importance of applying mould release oil to the moulds....

Good to see you! Looking forward when you get back and start working on the underground movie theater ❤🙏💯😉😊
By the end of this house building project, you and Roman could start your own contracting company for outwith farming seasons 😂
Don’t stray from the overbuilt strategy, ignore the professionals and put the wedges in every slot instead of every 12”.
Devon and his crew are 🐐 🇺🇲 👍👌👏👏👏👏!!!!
