It is so rare that someone can actually improve upon an original classic, especially one involving George Lynch’s guitar work. Your additional soloing at the end was amazing and a perfect fit for the song. So damn impressive. Keep the videos coming
OH MY G string... 4 years not too late to witness the best cover of this song ever. Period. Hey Peter, we should tape-record TS for an upcoming George Lynch "tribute album" before he passes away! LOOOL This the content I'm on YT for! What an inspiration... If this grandpa could, I surely can!
You are a very deceiving old man. If I'd passed you in a store I would never give it a second thought that you are so FREAKIN awesome!.love watching you play. You do these song more than justice. Keep on rockn
One of Randy's best friends too. It was Lynch who delivered the 75 Les Paul Custom to Randy as a gift from someone else who's name escapes me cuz im baked. But yeah man, Lynch & Rhoads were tight bros from way back! Lynch even taught electric guitar lessons at Musonia when RR formed The Blizzard of Ozz with fatman and Uriah Heaps rhythm section!!
thanks. yeah, George was a little bit of influence on me cuz his tone was really cool and he just had the right amount of chops to sound really great in a band setting. He improved as a guitarist over the years. Eddie smoked him in '78 and '79 but man, George was not a slouch and I honestly believe he actually got better than Eddie over time. Ed kind of stagnated, imo.
Man. Who are you and where have you been in life. You obviously love to play. Iam 63 and miss the 80s so called hair band days. So many great voices and musitions that got a bad rap. I love to play around with my guitar, but damn man hats off to you.
Hey bro I'm 50 and this was the he first song I learned to play all the way through ( besides Black Sabbath ) of course , I was born in 69 got my first ,,first act sunburst with two separate pickups in 79 and didn't even know how to tune I , but naturally being raised in Alabama I was already into Sabbath and Kiss ( serverly ) I wanted to be ace frehley so fucking bad ,,,,,, and dude ,,, watching your videos remind me so much of myself just jamming like hell until I have multiple grooves in my fretboard fingers , I play every single day and after 30 years I taught myself cemetery gates this past weekend , I would really like to hear your cover of that or shock me from Ace Frehley , there is no way to Deny the true passion that music invokes on a true soul , and there are times I sit and crank up grand funk or Styx and my head just starts banging instantly and I see folks sitting there like a fuckin turtle on a log in the lake and I think ,,,,,,,man if this doesn't make you move then you need to be in the ground cause homie yer FUCKIN Dead ,, so anyway man I really enjoy your videos bro , and like the prince of darkness OZZY says YOU CAN'T KILL ROCK N ROLL ,,,,,,ITS HERE TO STAY !!!; keep jamming yer ass off my brother and take much care
Yes, I was a Dokken fan because of George. His sound was brutal and his playing was amazing for the time and he wasn't the most technical but it just sounded so raw and metal like his amp was about to blow up. haha
Sounds really good. But more importantly, you look like you are having such a great time. if only some of my favorite musicians looked this way when are playing it would be awesome. I had to come back and edit this because I forgot to tell you that you have great taste in music.
I just subbed. I'm a musician as well. the joy on your face, and the little ad ons you put are fantastic. Glad I found you in this crazy time we are living in. Many are "alone" all over the world now.
Wow! Very well done. I saw them open up for Dio in "84 in Toledo. George Lynch and Vivian Campbell the same night! Holy Toledo Batman!! I really enjoyed that one Surge!!
lucky you! I would have been happy if I had been there. Although by 84 I was already playing most of what those two had done technique-wise (minus some of that crazy fast picking Vivian did) plus Van Halen for years. But I would still have been a little awe-struck.
Ok, Truth, it's me again. I think I've now watched this video of you playing this as many times as I've watched the video with Jimmy Page playing Stairway to Heaven with the boys at Madison Square Garden, many many more times than watching Dokken playing their own song.
Brilliant! One of your best, my friend! The tone is spot on, and the few licks you added were AWESOME! Had to watch it again because it’s so good. My favourite Dokken tune. I have a feeling George Lynch would be impressed. 👏👏👏
Wait. This is the best cover of any song I’ve watched on RUclips. The song. The performance. The showmanship. This is who I aspire to be when I get to be this age. Thank you sir
Great job ! Music comes from the heart . How it makes you feel , should never be confused with your appearance to others ! Don't worry , I don't ever judge a book by its cover . Its what's inside that counts . Brother , you've got that !
All the monolithic visions I see in my head when I'm taken through a journey with metal (Brutal Legend has the closest depictions), this dude gets it. Mind Body And Soul I can tell the metal runs through this man for sure!
The first video of yours I saw was a Dio vocal cover which was awsome. Now the second video I see is a Lynch cover and you absolutely nail it. Who the hell are you?
As a piano player from a very young age (by ear & formal lessons)...and later self taught guitarist... you make guitar playing look effortless. You have lit a fire under my a$$, it's back to practicing everyday for me!!!
I just can't believe that anyone can give this video a thumbs down.....Awesome sound, performance, .....etc....this just jams! I like this video better than the "official" video.
If I was to close my eyes and not watch the video, I swear that was George Lynch playing! He is my favorite guitarist of all time and you did a phenomenal job! I just started watching your videos and don't know your name, but you cease to amaze me! Keep up the great work!!
I am a fan. Great song selections, great techniques, great tones, an Ibanez user (my favorite brand), and you add your own tastes to the songs instead of just reproducing it note for note. Keep up the fun work and I would love to hear you do "The Sentinel" by Judas Priest sometime.
Every day, late, after work, I watch your videos! You have sensitivity, accuracy, etc, etc .... you are the guy !! No, there is no one! Hug, old man! I give Marceli from Porto Alegre / Brazil
Dude, your RUclips channel will never be left *alone again* for as long as you keep uploading great stuff like this!!! I'm sure you'll get many subscribers.

I agree. That end solo was strictly by emotion and that is how real music is made
It's george,s grandpa
