@@Slavic_Boer & omg have you seen Yoga Hosers? Great movie but when you watch it you think "...? is Kevin Smith 𝘵𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 to make us lust after his 16 year old daughter?" its a bit gratuitous at times. Not that I'm complaining.

Kev's movies are great but if I love anything about Kev it's Kev himself. He's a personal inspiration for entertainment and just being excited about life. What a wonderful guy! I love him!
His joyful soul and enthusiasm is infectious and he's just a pure, lovable guy. Even if I am not digging everything he does, I love and respect Kevin the human and Kevin the artist and just how much this guy cares about his passions, because I'm the same way. And he's just a decent dude, too.
You deserve so much more praise. Great interview.
Kevin has changed so much these past years, he has become more selfaware and humble.. I always felt like he got painted as this amateur director know it all, but in this interview, his podcasts, events etc. he seems so nice and you could have a great time with him.
Sometimes he talks about "Young Kevin Smith", who didn't like to be wrong and was a loud mouth that always had to get the last word. Entertaining guy, but Old Kev Smith is much more relaxed and deals with his shit better, pretty decent role model actually.
I can't wait for Moose Jaws and then watch him go up against Tusk I'm excited for that

Even when we all had nothing we still painted the inside of caves. The need for entertainment is ingrained in all of us.
Why it takes you so long to do these sequels
I actually disagreed with him about the mall thing with the pandemic. I think that, hopefully anyways, this is going to draw people out of their homes and make them want to go out and experience and enjoy the things they used to when they were younger. I know I still enjoy going to malls. Though I like finding the ones that still have the dark little hallways, like the ones in the 80s did. There are only a few that I know they still have that feel. One has a back hallway with businesses in it that you wouldn’t even know who is there unless you got lost or went out the wrong exit of a store. It’s really bizarre, but I love it… Because it takes me back.
But I think after what we experience for the past year, people may be more willing to go out and do things more often. I’m an entertainer at a resort location, and I suspect that it’s going to be busier than it’s been in 20 years this year. We will see what happens, I’m just hoping that the pandemic was a wake up call for a lot of people. To go out and live life to its fullest and don’t waste a single day hiding away.

Hey man, I love Star Wars but Lucas is not that original either. A New Hope is pretty heavily lifted off of Kurosawa's the Hidden Fortress, he even tried to get some of the cast to "reprise" their roles. I grew up with people telling me that Lucas named every species and wrote background for them like Tolkien, not true, the Expanded Universe put more into Star Wars than Lucas ever did, the comics, the novels, the RPGs and the games. Lucas called them "the green ones" or "the greys", West End Games called them Rodians and Duros, gave them backstory and culture. Don't be so hard on yourself.
I hope Kevin changes his mind about including stuff about COVID in Mallrats 2. It's already a huge awful part of everyday life, I don't want it in my fucking movies.
Please leave the View Askewniverse alone, sir. Jay Bob Reboot was complete garbage. I get that we all grow up and mature and all that shit and our artistic views change which is fine but don't destroy the classics. Keep moving forward with original movies that do not recycle characters. Cop Out was good. I liked Tusk, it was an odd movie, but I actually fucking liked it. Red State was decent. Zack and Miri is a cult classic. Leave the View Askewniverse alone, please.
And if you absolutely HAVE to make View Askewniverse films, DO NOT MAKE THEM HARLEY QUINN SMITH MOVIES. She's duller than the girl from the Twilight movies. We get it, she's a depressed millennial and showing emotion is lame, but ffs, atleast look alive.
