Giancarlo Esposito? Vincent D’Onforio? Forrest Whittaker? All of them in one show? These signature actors that I’ve watched for almost 40 years honing their craft. Of course I’m watching it!
They are phenomenal in this show, including Nigel......The first time I ever saw Esposito was in Do The Right Thing as Buggin out....incredible versatility...
Glad they made this series. Learning a lot his character outside of being a gangster and his relationship with Malcolm X. Nigel Thatch is doing an amazing job as Malcolm X. Great series.
I've watched both sesons 1 and 2, although very enjoyable; the shows creators have really played fast and loose with the facts and have misappropriated iconic words imagery. There are so many outlandish occurrences and unlikely meetings that I find it hard to take it seriously as a historical documenting of that period of time. Nigel Hatch was absolutely excellent as Malcolm X theough.
This show isn’t really historically accurate at all. It’s entertaining as hell. The only true thing is that the mafia especially the Genovese who had a large presence in Manhattan had an alliance with black gangsters in order to flood black neighborhoods w heroin through the French Connection. Bumpy was a legendary gangster and did some good things but he mostly just sold drugs to his own people.
you made Vincent the chin so believable and you made Malcolm x so incredible both of you gentlemen are definitely the best that ever did it y'all should win Grammys
The show actually inspired me to adjust my wardrobe....I love the suits and just the whole vintage look ....look at my wool cardigan on the picture😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I am a big fan of Forest Whitaker. His name doesn't often come up when people are talking about the greatest actors of a generation but it should. When you watch this series you will be reminded of just how phenomenal he is. I remember being so happy for him when he won the Oscar for playing Idi Amin in "The Last King of Scotland". He is one of the greats.
I liked his Charlie Parker in 'BIRD' by Clint Eastwood. never get tired of that. I'm no Jazz expert, but all music is interesting. that's where I got to see him work first, I think. in fact, the theme song on GOH is worth the wait every week. but I can hear it here. and the visual art w/it, is outstanding.
I first saw him in Ghost Dog and since then I've considered him a Capital "A"...ACTOR! I'm not talking about celebrity status "A-List"...I'm talking about acting chops! On par with actors like Daniel Day Lewis and Danielle Deadwyler.
@The Esquire of Sports ® Oh i did sir about a thousand times 😂😂😂😂I just don't recall him repeatedly or frequently saying the N word..he often says " That black bustard Bumpy".........
The story of Bumpy Johnson is a great story. The writing is excellent, and I can tell they knew something about organized street crimes. One scene from the first episode caught my attention, that's after Bumpy Johnson seen the young man who got shot in the leg at the bar. Bumpy made a statement ( we need to put more police on our payroll, so this won't happen again.) That is total street knowledge. My father was a number writer in Philly back in the 70's, and paided for protection the same as Bumpy Johnson.
Those two really are beautiful. Got two more for you: Have you seen Zazie Beetz? She is in the Netflix movie "The Harder They Fall" and was in Atlanta. The other one is : Melanie Liburd. She was in the NBC series "This is Us." She is so fine that it's not even fair.
Been non-stop binging the show this past week. I don't know what percentage of the show is fictional (and there are lots of cinema sins), but it is so damned engaging and well acted by a cast of heavy hitters. The male actors are all well known, but this is the first I'm seeing the female cast and they're all killing it too, especially Antoinette Crowe-Legacy playing Elise Johnson.
Fast times at Ridgemont high ,the last king of Scotland ,the black panther , rogue one, and now the godfather of Harlem, forest Whittaker you are my hero and I am a true fanboy.
Vincent D'Onofrio is an awesome actor fresh out of my mind from playing "Wilson Fisk" to this. There are moments when I have a flash of memory imagining what Fisk would do in this situation in GOH.
I can think of a number of actors that could've played Chin Gigante and Bumpy..and I think they would've done a very decent job (Im thinking of guys like Derek Luke and Benico del Toro, or Don Cheadle and a Sean Penn)....but Forest and Vincent D'Onofrio are two of the greatest actors of their time. And they turn in performances in this series, that just blows you away.
Excellent work , They are Excellent actors and writers for the Godfather of Harlem .. Not one of those cheap mafia shows - The characters / actors portray real new York state of mind New Yorkers .. Godfather of Harlem out did the Sopranos by far.. Hope to see more from this great group of actors and writers .. Quality performances ..
Great show and Casting love ❤️ this Show its extra special my Beautiful late Aunt lived in his Apt Building Lennox Terrace most beautiful and swank Apt 125th st we in Philly visited late 60s early 70s Bump had passed never knew of him till lawrence Fishburn played Him
what a show! i love all of them.Look what they all have done. I am so thrilled to see Vincent have a great role.Look Chazz Palmieri used to live right near me.I used to see him at the Pizza place and i will not say where out of respect.I met a lot of famous people in my life lucky me as i had a lot of money It just turns out that way.Forest is an Actor Icon.
Nigel is AMAZING as Malcom X.... From the voice, mannerisms.... 🔥🔥But also You know what? Vincent does a great job as Chin but I can kinda tell he was uncomfortable.... Can anyone else see what I see? 🤔

Excellent show but I don't know why they fictionalised so much, I understand in order to make a show more consistent you need to add fictional characters but these people lives were exciting enough to add anything 'fake'.
I love this series and the things it brings to light but I can't help but hope that soon there will be a series of success programs or films that show some real stories of black , brown and white folk getting on and achieving something special occasionally. One Love
Shit. If I had heard Vincent D'onfrio talk before I commented I wouldn't have. He sounds like a bitch. Tbh I've never heard him talk off camera before so I got nowt to compare it to. Did he play the serial pyscho killer in first True Detective?
There is no proof that Joe Kennedy was a bootlegger; or a criminal. Bumpy Johnson and Malcolm X, had a common thread; they are considered so-called black man! I wish that thread, still existed today.
Forest Whitaker is an AWESOME actor and a gentleman in real life with a brilliant mind.
Giancarlo Esposito? Vincent D’Onforio? Forrest Whittaker? All of them in one show? These signature actors that I’ve watched for almost 40 years honing their craft. Of course I’m watching it!
Right.

"Yes! He did a great job! "😁😍"playing"MALCOLM X"😍💖🌹😳
Which is more preferable Thatch's portrayal or Denzel Washington's portrayal?
IT'S A MOVIE!

3 seasons down and this show is way too underrated. Acting, wardrobe, and soundtrack is out of this world 🔥
This show is soooo good! I love it!!
Nice to see Chin Gigante trying to portrait Vincent D'Onofrio
I always remember Vincent D'Onofrio as Orson Welles from Ed Wood biopic
Stella and Ernie's accents were great. Nice to hear that actor who played Chin wasn't comfortable with the racism.
Johanne Pants On Fire
Come to think of it...You actually never hear Chin say the n-word....

@Original Man 👍 it's lots of money in that game. If you want to stay in that you must pay off the poiice for protection.
You all are lying.
Good Gracious both of these black women are dropped dead beautiful 😍 Lord Have Mercy ÷)

All of them are very well-spoken and poised.

Great interviewer!!!!Huge difference between being a fan...and an intervier. Great thought out Questions.
Vincent D'Onofrio is an awesome actor fresh out of my mind from playing "Wilson Fisk" to this. There are moments when I have a flash of memory imagining what Fisk would do in this situation in GOH.
Malcolm X looking at dude like “I hope you say the ni**a” ... it’s like he got back in character lol
The whole cast is raw!!!
Such a awesome show.

There is no proof that Joe Kennedy was a bootlegger; or a criminal. Bumpy Johnson and Malcolm X, had a common thread; they are considered so-called black man! I wish that thread, still existed today.
Bullshit thee is proof that ambassador Kennedy got rich from bootlegging fanboy.
