Many police ARE like this one...but it's the "bad apples" that get all of the attention. I worked in Law Enforcement and know so many AMAZING police officers who are professional, kind, compassionate, and truly are civil servants in every aspect of the term. But sadly, we don't often hear about their good deeds...and in fact most officers I know never tell a soul of the great things they do every day. That is my experience, though I know it is not everyone's experience. And that is unfortunate.

Its because guns are not these super dangerous things that people make them out to be. Guns firing on their own is an extremely rare circumstance and very nearly always requires them being dropped or very poorly mishandled. Too many people have this incredibly fabricated and poorly informed idea of gun safety. Sure, don't be an idiot, but nor does one need to handle a gun like its a new-born infant. Especially modern guns with the crazy amount of safety features that many are coming out with.

As a 911 operator I can tell you first hand calling 911 and saying “this isn’t an emergency but...” is the most infuriating this you can possibly do. Please. For the love of God. Don’t do that. Take a moment and find the non emergency phone number for your local police department.

Nice finding. The guns is a Ruger LCR (Lightweight Compact Revolver). This is a fairly new model. The first ones came in around 2007. It is a polymer frame with steel barrel and cylinder. Ruger now offer in 22's, 357 magnum, 38 cal, 9mm and if I am not mistaken 327 magnum. Subbed ya.

As I mentioned on Jake's channel about the revolver, some handguns sometimes have serial numbers on the inside pistol grip frame, so there still may be hope for tracking it down to the owner, unless it is an illegal one. However, if it is still functional, they can try firing off a few bullets to have its ballistics determined in case one was retrieved in a crime. So all isn't lost... yet, jsut because the officer didn't see a number on the outside of the frame. Hope more can be done with it. Nothing like bumming a ride from a cop. Is that so kewl or what?!

As I mentioned on Jake's channel about the revolver, some handguns sometimes have serial numbers on the inside pistol grip frame, so there still may be hope for tracking it down to the owner, unless it is an illegal one. However, if it is still functional, they can try firing off a few bullets to have its ballistics determined in case one was retrieved in a crime. So all isn't lost... yet, jsut because the officer didn't see a number on the outside of the frame. Hope more can be done with it.
