@@underinfluence9001 even with pitch correction you still have to be close enough to the note that you can correct it and it wont sound unnatural. pitch correction isn't the "evil" you think it is. so what's the big deal if a little bit of correction was applied in post? EXACTLY, it's not a big deal, because Gee was still clearly close enough to the notes that they could pull proper correction off without it sounding robotic and fake. regardless, i was moreso talking about Gerard's breath control on this performance, because his BREATH CONTROL is what's always been the issue, not the pitch of the vocals.
I was 2 when this came out, so i'm trying to make up for the time lost by watching every single one of their concert i can get my hands on! THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!!! 🎉
I was there. What a legendary show. Probably MCR's last "small" show. And in many ways, a send-off to the "small rock band breaking out into success." The last time they were in the "underground," because after this it was all arenas, tours, and headlining festivals. You don't see this anymore.
I saw them in 2011 at the Tower in Upper Darby. A bit bigger than the Troc, but I felt the same way! I also saw LSDunes at the Unitarian Church that holds 600. An unforgettable experience!
Those in attendance didn't know MCR was about to release an album that would literally change the face of Rock music forever. That single G note in the beginning of WTTBP changed this band and concept albums forever. Love this so much.
On that note, that single G note, when the audience doesn't erupt, like you know now they would now in any live performance, it is almost jarring how silent the audience was. I was fully expecting a deafening response :) They didn't know what they were being part of..... Yet!!!
Started liking them more way tooooooo late. I missed all of this growing up and I do regret it. Though I will not stop turning them up full blast while driving my 2016 Nissan Altima with the windows rolled down so everyone can be a part of it like it or not. I gotta say Gerard had it all going on in his performance back then. He knew exactly how to perform and it's so captivating. I only l dream of being able to perform the way he can at my current age. I do karaoke alot but I do not feel I'm anything special however I do understand vocals very well. I learned overtime though that Gerard's performance is complimented very well by his back up singers. Multiple guitars and multiple singers, so much harmony!
Oh man, I remember that show. It was legendary. I thought the guy at the beginning was a little ridiculous saying how it was "the best/most groundbreaking rock show ever," because it was in Philadelphia at the start of the Black Parade era, but goddamn was that an incredible, amazing show. Idk how they fit all of us in the Troc like that.
this album was in my opinion the big exclamation point that marked the end of that amazing emo/pop punk/screamo time period. nobody could do better after this album came out. that was it, and the end of an amazing era.
Hace casi 20 años los escucho y cada dia me gusta mucho mas, me siguen impresionando, aun escuchar las mismas canciones una y otra vez, esto es amor verdadero ❤ Killjoy para siempre
These guys got strapped with that stupid label as Emo. What a total crock of rubbish. This is a rock band, plain and simple. The Black Parade sits up near the top of the list for concept albums. Pink Floyd's The Wall might get the nod over Black Parade in that category, but barely. Through the 2020's and beyond, I think M.C.R. will be one of the bands that helps keep Rock alive, and I'm almost positive that they will do this successfully. Also, they have one hell of a great lead guitar player. Look to be seeing a lot of them in the next decade.
@WALMARTSHOPLIFTERSCLUB emo is kinda whats cool nowadays idk? i think these alternative subcultures go in phases. rock was once detested, when this was being performed, all the emo kids thought emo was rude, to them they were goths. today, emo/scene is admired as it wasn't before, and the new iteration is maybe some form of e-kid? emo was simply a stop on the line of alternative. like rockers, like punk, like goth, and whatever comes next.
We're gonna miss you Bob.
one of Gerard's best live performances when it comes to consistently good vocals thru the whole set
Pitch correction lowk
Ray is fantastic too

Hard to believe this is nearly 20 years old. Anyone else wish we could just go back to the early and mid 2000's??
1000%…. This show was different. I was there in the pit and didn’t appreciate the significance

Exactly a total performer he put to much effort and emotion in every song he sang. I hope that this just happen yesterday.

Love this Gerard's performing sober, he really puts up a great vocal if he's not drunk or wasted

You know this is old when no one in the crowd reacts to the first notes of Welcome to the Black Parade.
I got to see MCR at the Fillmore in Detroit in 2010, and it was unbelievable, SO SO GOOD ❤❤❤
Great video. Great band
Loveeeeeee itttt!!
Omg i love it. Thank you
The sound guy just completely gives no shit about the guitars lol esp frank's
Si de solo escuchar con auriculares ya me estoy por infartar, no me imagino en vivo por favor 💔
Rays harmonies were amazing, like always omg
Hearing wttbp before it was massive is wild. No one singing along because they likely hadn't heard it yet.
Yeah, it's really odd, if we compare with The Black Parade is Dead! the crowd even cheering since the G note
Siempre Reluciendose MCHR ❤
What a performance
Veo a Bob en este vídeo y lloro, me viene la nostalgia, sentimientos encontrados, ahí esta rodeado de mucha gente comparado con el día que se nos fue.
Forever my favourite band❤🖤❤!
One of the few concerts the crowd doesn't song along and is usually louder than gerard on black parade
the danger days spider in the bottom right corner scared the shit out of me 😭
