A short video showing a nicely built homemade antenna tuner / transmatch. This unit utilizes a Pi-network, which a pair of variable capacitors to ground the input and output, with a variable roller inductor connected in series between them. Since the tuner was built with variable caps that were not very large in maximum capacitance, a switch is provided to add additional capacitance in parallel with the variable caps. The schematic for the tuner is shown, as it is tested at a couple of different frequencies using an MFJ-259B Antenna Analyzer to ensure that it works.
