    This bad sensor was causing an irregular idle and lose of power in the engine. After installed ran great.

    Very important to figure out this little sensor to make the car idle and run.

    I have a 11 Hyundai Tucson 2 L and check engine light is on. Ran diagnostics and code P0106 came back stating needs replacement of MAP Sensor. Do these things just go bad over time as the car gets older? Just curious. How much does the replacement part normally run for? TIA!

      Yes. It is electric and have a sensor that sticks out. the sensor gets beat by all the air rushing through the air filter, pass this sensor then into the engine. Very good question. Some people "clean" them but I would say get a new one.

      If you get the part from the dealer I could see them charging $200. I got this one from an auto parts store for 75$ and It is really really easy to change.

      Sometimes the catalytic converters causes same issues. Run the car on idle for 10 min and look Yoder the car at night. If the converter is plugged it will smell funny and start to get red.

    Good video. Short and to the point. A question if I may - there are a lot of pages on the net suggesting a new map sensor needs to be calibrated after placement. Is any of that true?

      I put this one in and drove off. Customer had no complaints. Don't get MAP - Manifold Atmosphere Pressure and Fuel MAP confused. Fuel MAP yes. MAP sensor no. The ECU/DME should be capable to plug and play this in every car after 1996

    Could I ask where you bought that MAP sensor? As in local vs chain.
    I may need a new one but I’m not sure where to go to find one for my 2011 Tucson

      @@OldHickory176 Great Question. I actually got this one at Advanced Auto. We have a commercial account. I buy from a lot of places but never the dealership unless I absolutely have too.

    I’m going to perform gdi carbon cleaning soon on my 2018 Hyundai Tucson by spraying cleaner on intake. Does map sensor needs to be removed prior to cleaning? I don’t see MAF sensor anywhere so I assume there is no MAF on it.

    • @disturbingkreationz
      @disturbingkreationz  Год назад +1

      You are correct. This sensor takes the place of a MAF, mass air flow, sensor. Great question. I would just clean it. Please let me know what product you used and how it worked so my viewers can know. Thanks and subscribe please.

    Should this be changed or recommended at 100,000 respectfully asking

    • @disturbingkreationz

      Great question. If it is the original from day 1 then yes I would do it. You will probably notice a little more MPG and maybe even a few HP lost due to old circuits.
