This really does feel futuristic and next level. DJI always innovating, amazing product that can change what is possible.
But the US will sanction it because it is owned by Chinese people. Reminds me of Germany in the 1930s when a country persecuted people based on their place of birth.
The world's largest battery company CATL just announced a new battery technology that can double the upper limit of the energy density of the battery. Imagine the M30T with double the flight time. The future is crazy.

It's amazing to me how this company dominated drone market with simply having best product, top innovations in such a remarkable pace. I had first DJI phantom and in a moment there are products like this. All best!
The dual hinge design opening in the middle has a giant design flaw: If you open it while snow lays on top, you have your drone fully covered in a thick layer of snow, unable to take off. A single Hinge design taking off the whole cover would solve this.
I wonder if the hood is heated, which would keep the snow off and dry the wet drone inside.
@Keezer I wondered the same. seems likely if this is supposed to be something that can sit for long periods and always be ready to go, the box is charging, drying, and heating the drone/enclosure in cold weather

Really? I'm glad you've had a great experience with DJI! However, my experience with the Goggles 2 has been less than ideal. The Goggles 2 tend to fog up, press down on my nose bridge, and the visuals appear more blurred and purple compared to the v2 goggles. I'm going to stick with the goggles v2 for now. As for the Avata drone, I've experienced some random crashes (because of bad heavy design which causes rollovers) which were a bit frustrating. I expected the newer version to be better, but I have been really disappointed.
But DJI is really pushing me to HDZero or walksnail for my next setup. Have been really disappointment with their FPV development. This costed me a lot of money for nothing since I have to sell the goggles 2 because and my avata since I dont trust that drone anymore :(

Quandar I’m very sorry to here that you have had a terrible experience with a DJI product or 2 wishing you nothing but the best of luck with the situation at hand and it being resolved in the best ways possible when ever it may have occurred. Having owned the entire Phantom Series line up, Inspire 1 multiple osmo mobile stabilizers a couple different Mavic models and a ronin stating what was said in my previous comment stands for my experience with there products and I can assure you at any time I may have had an issue they did there best to resolve what ever it was in reason even if it was due to operator malfunctions which they still did there best in working with me to resolve any issues I’ve ever had period. I’ll continue to recommend there products and use them as well. Praying you have better results if you ever deal with them anymore take care, god bless!

Love that they are using the DJI mic but it is a funny showcase because the mic itself is peaking the audio
You know it would be cool if DJI could develop a version which you could fit on the roof of a vehicle. Something the Police or emergency services could deploy quickly. Just like the one in Blade Runner 2041, much cheaper than having to call in a helicopter.

What happened to your sound recording? Sounds like it was recorded on a 2010 Nokia or something.
DJI have come a long way from a couple of guys tossing a drone up in the air to show how it self rights itself, or throwing a Flamewheel F450 frame out an office window to demonstrate how tough the airframe is. I bought my DJI drone back in 2011 when they were just kits you had to build yourself, yes they’ve certainly come a long, long way. 👏👏

Dji doesn't seem to need competition, they just innovate anyway.
Nows day innovation come as a positive feedback from the market.
Need competition to bring the price down, monopoly is never a good thing.

What do you mean? The only concern was the Android app the product itself is fine specially when using and iPhone to control it or it’s dedicated controllers

My first drone was the dji phantom
I bought the phantom 3 pro aswell awesome drones
The technology of the Phantom is very outdated
so the box can stay plugged into the grid? otherwise, it would be kinda annoying if you have to come out to retrieve the box, just to charge it...
Looking at a possible application, some concerns come to mind.
If i were to place the dock on a remote site, it there a possibility for me to install products for physical security.
As an exempel, if someone were to force the dock open can i attach an magnetic contact in the doors.
Or is there internal space for me to install a seismic alarm point so i can notice if someone is trying to force the dock open or try to move it.
Weather is nice and all but for some applications it would been interesting to see what options there is for physical security.
Other then that, great solution and i can see a lot of applications were this is very useful in all sectors.
These would be great for traffic patrol, and safer way to follow a chase subject in cities instead of a police chase endangering tons of people. Also great for per-arrival inspections of fire calls, and accidents.

How do you clean the lenses? In the Mars, there are a lot of dust. In the video, I've seen a lot of weather situation, but I didn't see dust!

the example seems like questionable, how do you deal with the cold temperatures affecting the batteries, and what about snow buildup on the enclosure.

DJI is no fuss no frills value with actual innovation for the common man, for much less. That’s why all the American civil engineers get rich off of using DJI. It saves them money.

Working in a Solar Industry, i have wondered how advanced the technology has grown upto. Here we use Drones to capture Thermography Inspections of the Solar Modules from above to identify hotspots and other issues.
wonder why they never showed a situation when ther was much snow on top of it after a snowstorm.... i'm sure with this design it would fall into the dock when opening and stop the drone from starting

Great design, basically a automatic droneport. I wonder thouth if a horizontal exit would be more mechanically robust and require less vulenerable seals.

Currently I have a solar setup which i manually inspect via drone.... its just on my house's roof... but I think i need this platform to help automate it... so i have more time to fly my drones :)

what's in that dock, why is it so big?
Dock is nice, hive or mobile carrier would be even better for area security. How many could fit in the bed of a pickup if the top cover is a large one for all of them? I feel this could change the world.

Wow that's some dystopian shit right there. You are a laborer working on scaffolding and you look over your shoulder and the boss is monitoring you with drones lol.
Strange that for a snow scenario that there is no obvious solution for removing snow off the dock.
A hack would be to locate in under a canopy/carport structure. There's probably no way it could work reliably being left out in snowy/freezing conditions permanently, although the presentation did seem to imply that.
The snow will probably just melt from the heat generated by the electronics in the box and drain away the same way rain would. The box only opens for a short time so I can't imagine too much snow would get in.
I believe the hailstones will smash the weather station on the dock

Cool! But... How do the batteries charge? Who swaps the batteries? What if the drone's prop clips something and crashes? What if the wind crashes it or knocks it over?
