Thanks for posting this video. I started watching Hitlist UK in MTV Europe in 2000. The image was still this one, but the only positions showing was 20-11 and then 10-2. Sometimes they showed a video below #20.
This top 40 chart was shown troughout the 90's and I rarely missed one. In 2003 they dropped this form, and introduced the top 20 show which was not even the official chart but a random collection of songs with two girls (one of them was Cat) talking constant nonsense. I was very angry. I did not know then the charts would soon become irrelevant anyway.
@@ipiap I remember even in the end of 2000 this format of Hitlist UK was removed and they started a Top 20 that wasn't official. Probably you're talking about that one.
Wonderful charts in 1997! Everything was great: pop, dance, rock, indie... And that great drum'n'bass track from Adam F at #36, it really captures the atmosphere of the time! Memories!
wow! the kind of old footage i love to watch on youtube...i was more a Caroline Lillipaly fan but i admit Cat was fresh as well. thanks for the memories sdizda
Yes, although "Debaser" was the first track on the 1989 "Doolittle" album, the song wasn't released as a single until 1997. The song and video promoted the band's best of album, "Death to the Pixies".
Gosh...brings back so much memories. Lots of tunes...unforgettable!
My entire childhood... my heart is melting
