    Cool that you could tie the liners on top of the case and double your capacity any time. I've got some Givi soft bags on my VFR that have been great for 12 years. Really great quality stuff.

      Yep the possibilities are endless for packing all the things. I’m hoping to get lots of use out of this setup!

    The larger one still throws me off but I can see why you'd go that route. Looks good!

    looks like an inch or so i have from side top box rail to the pannier box to get it open; when i put on a v47 top box; that will overhang more .. Could be close; - and need to measure as i won't put on a square top box.

    Is there any video for the top case installation?

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  Год назад

      My top case was already installed when I purchased my Tiger, but I can tell you that the slider carriage bracket is mounted by 4 bolts, and the slider carriage itself is also mounted with 4 bolts.

    I intend to mount a similar rack on my 2014 but it has an arrow exhaust. Do you know if it will still fit?

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes sir, the Givi rack is supposed to clear exhausts that are sized similarly to the factory exhaust.

    why need liners in the pannier boxes if they are waterproof. already ? ez to unlock and take off ?

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  Год назад

      The liners are actually bags. Imagine setting up camp and pulling the soft totes out of the hard cases with all of your gear inside and stowing inside your tent. Much more practical than removing the hard cases and bringing inside with you. But, to answer your question, yes the case removal is as simple as a key turn and lever pull and they pop right off.

    Does the Givi side pannier fit in the same mount as the triumph pannier also made by givi ?

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  Год назад

      My understanding is that the Triumph Expedition series of hard panniers are literally rebranded Givi Explorer panniers. If that is true, then I’m willing to bet that the mounting kit is nearly identical.

    Hi! Do you know how to change lock in this top box? I was looking everywhere :D

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  Год назад

      If you go to the UK Tiger forum, there are guys that have successfully swapped locks. It is not easy and requires some precise drilling, if I recall.

    i am on a kind of same set up, have you ever consider switching the top case with a givi one? Not because the aesthetics but because i find the Triumph top case way too small and heavy.

      Hi Salvatore! Yes, I made sure and ordered the 3 lock set so that I have the option to upgrade to the Givi top box later. Thanks for watching!!

    Part number for those two side bags ?

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  Год назад

      The left side Trekker Outback 48L case is OBKN48ALA, the right side 37L is OBKN37ALA, and the rack kit for mounting is PL6401CAM.

    I wish they routed the exhaust under the bike. I hate the uneaven look of the paniers.

      @HalfClickUp I've got the tiger 900 gt pro. I did a lot of miles and love it to bits. I just don't like the uneven luggage. When i upgrade to the 1200 i might try two if the smaller ones

      @HalfClickUp  Месяц назад

      @ I do appreciate the symmetry created by two different sized panniers. It’s about as good as it gets as far as aesthetics go.

    Really good looking. Those are the exact same bags that Triumph sells.( made by GIVI) They are just embossed TRIUMPH them instead of GIVI .I punched mine when i bought the bike and had them installed at time of purchase. They installed the smaller pannier on both side. I don't think Triumph even offers the larger ones. Or at least not on the website. I do think you opinion is correct. It would have been better to by the bigger on on the left. You also probably paid less than i did. The Triumph branded ones, were a $1395 option. There seems to be a bit of space between the inside left side of the rack and the frame. Do you think there is enough room to mount a Rotopax in there? Also, Id love an update on the waterproof bags, if you have had them in the rain over this last year. Im thinking of adding them to mine.

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  2 года назад +1

      Hey Jeff! My complete Givi kit was in the neighborhood of $1250. I do know that Givi actually makes a little toolbox that mounts inside that little gap you’re referring to. Maybe compare the dimensions of the Rotopax to the dimensions of the toolbox on Givi’s website and see if it sounds like it’ll fit. Thanks for watching!!

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  2 года назад +1

      OH, and to answer your question on the bags, they’ve been a game changer. On Moto camping trips, I fill the pannier with stuff, then place the bag on top of the pannier with even more stuff, roll the top to make it waterproof, and then bungee cord it to the little tie downs. It basically quadruples your storage capacity. They’ve been through light rain on the way to Austin with no water intrusion at all.

    Good video. By the way, it's pronounced gee-vee rather than giv-ee. I was corrected myself and I watched a Givi marketing video to confirm.

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  2 года назад +1

      Hehehe… I learned the “hard G” pronunciation from their Instagram marketing videos, but figured the “long E” annunciation was simply because those guys are Italian and they just sound that way 🤣👍

  • @ed.t.hansen6499

    ok ; your square top box does not help as i'll use a givi v47 top box to see how much overhang there is on the left side to prevent the box from opening. apppears to be a few inches from the top mtg plate to be ok. but ? I'm not fond of that big squate top box. !! The v47 is a bit wider. Sure would be niice the side boxes opened from either end; like some others do !! HINT HINT to givi.

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  Год назад

      I’m not entirely sure, but I believe the left box would open fine with the V47… I do know that you can purchase all three cases in a set. I’d like to think that Givi planned their design accordingly.
