I played a game as ostland (with a few extra mods,including a formable nation mod to form the baltic federation at some point)and using toolpack joined the torronto accord(cheated and used cheats to declare wars too sometimes) and somehow my shitty underequipped millitia-light infantry divisions were melting singular divisions(until reinforcements arrived and there were like 5 divisions in one province but i set up a defensive line on the vistula river and then held,and then they started losing because they were getting invaded thru denmark and didn't reinforce that front)maybe just because i was on the easiest difficulty but idk

I think I was able to beat Germany by stalling them until the American intervention. Basically the only way to win. You absolutely need to tweak the custom game rules.
