honestly id thought most people came to aero gpx from fzero, im actually surprised to find a review with little comparison to that series. its a really unique perspective i think!!
Thank you! I do have a soft spot for captain falcon, fond smash memories. But Redout was what I reached out to for my anti-grav racing itch. It's a genre with so much more room for devs to hop in!
what sets this apart from other racing games ive played, and that i love, is just how raw the combat in this game feels. there are not many moments that bring you satisfaction like bashing another racer off the track, or using the spin attack to angle grind someone into a wall, or seeing that youre starting the race next to a speeder type macine, and then getting yourself a boost in less than 5 seconds.
Yeah the combat is satisfying and pretty simple. No pickups or whatever. I did find that combat wasn't enough to win a race but it was a nice bit of extra fun.
Thank you. Likes, subs and comments, like this one, all help out greatly. I'm familiar with GX but never got to play it. I did play the original F-Zero a few times

gotta love 90s-2000s retrofuturism B)
Why does the future have to be all metals and greys? Let the future be bright, damnit
screens don't have to always be windows to a cold corporate world, and neon never gets old. let there be light!
Amen 🙌
Great review! Shame this video doesn't have more views. Also have you tried F-Zero GX?
