Hello from Crystal at BagoDay! Great video I can see why she likes you! Loved the video! I don’t buy ICE because of shipping. I live on West coast so would imagine it would be “Highway Robbery” as my mom used to say. Thank you God Bless!
My local Michael's was so empty for a long time, but now they are filling up the aisles with their own yarn. ValueCraft was replaced by the exact same thing, for the same price, but under the loops & threads label.
Hi Juan, Just caught the end of Crystal's live, saw the link to you and subscribed. I did an order from Ice Yarns in the past year and felt like a kid in a candy store! If you are careful and keep track of how each addition affects the shipping, you can end up with a great haul for the money! Good luck with your channel!🙂
As a retired GraMa, I am all about getting the most yarn for my $. I really enjoy how you break it all down, by comparing all the different yarn companies product. Great job!
I’m so very happy for you. I just started my RUclips journey too and a few podcasters in my realm (amigurumi) gave me a shout out and it’s hard to express how much that means. I’m so happy you’re getting a well deserved boost. Wishing you all the luck and hopefully joy in this new space. 💗
Hi again Juan! I would like to hear a review with Hobby Lobby’s “I Love This Yarn” that’s my go to yarn and lol…I love it. I think you would enjoy it too 🙂🧶
Thanks for the review! I've heard many RUclipsrs rave about Ice Yarns' Saver but always wondered if it was really that different to the saver yarns we get locally. Glad to know it isn't that different 😊
Hello, I justed posted a video about my trip to Michael's and showed how empty the shelves are. It's funny how you said the same thing. Thank you for showing and sharing. I also came over from Crystal-Bagoday Crochet.
I've never tried Ice Yarns, so this is incredibly interesting to me. Thank you for sharing this. You channel is growing and I love it! Looking forward to more videos when you have time.
Hi Juan. Crystal was correct. I DO like you. Thank you for this review. It was extremely helpful. I've been wondering about Micharls Value yarn. It looks as I'd they may be discontinuing it. I hope we're wrong. You're going to do great with your channel. I look forward to your videos.
🧡🧶Hello, thank you for the awesome side by side... im heading over to ICE yarns to look around. I will be back to watch more of your videos tonight. Im working an 8 hr overnight shift, and appreciate your company.
@karenperreira3508 Actually, the shipping is realistic. It was much less before all of the major shipping companies raised their prices several years ago. When that happened, Ice Yarns raised their shipping charges. Everyone else, including big box stores, raised the price of the yarn to make up the difference. On a skein-by-skein basis, Ice--with shipping--is still less. Bag-o-Day and The Secret Yarnery frequently do a cost analysis of buying from Ice. Crystal at BOD held the common belief that the shipping made Ice a bad deal until she finally started doing what many had advised and started pricing it out. Krista at Secret Yarnery ALWAYS priced it out. what you'll find is that Ice is always equal to or less than the others when comparing regular prices, and the selection of yarns available is extraordinary. And, like all yarn shopping, there are tricks to getting the best deals. Unlike the others, Ice yarns less frequently have sale items, but it does happen. But the question often is, do I want to pay an average of $3.00 per ball of yarn when shipping is included, or do I want to pay $4.00 average per ball and get free shipping?
Oh I’m a lefty too!! I loved how you reviewed this yarn and I can’t wait to watch you review more! I’ve always thought explaining a new yarn to someone would be challenging since we all feel yarn differently. But seeing you compare this to so many well know (and felt) yarns helped me to know what to expect. Keep up the great work ❤
Hi Juan, just found your channel a couple of days ago. Really enjoying your podcasts! 2 comments… the over size cardigan, I think it looked good on you and you should keep it. Your first blanket, sew a piece of minky fabric on the back and call it a day. Best wishes
BOD pointed the way to your channel. Really appreciated your yarn review, especially the comparison to several yarns with which we might be familiar. Good luck on growing your channel!
sitting up in bed..it's 4:50 am and I've been binge watching your vids for a 5 hrs now give or take a tad. I came across your thread a few days ago and I enjoy listening to your opinion about diff yarns etc. As I'm watching you, I'm slowly working on what Jayda named " the big beautiful basket " where you use 3 or 4 strands of yarn all the way from bottom to top. OMG it's a beast w 4 strands ( I had only ever used 3 before and believe me the 4th added makes a huge difference! lol )...anyhow, take care Darlin', I've got to go grab one of your other videos to keep me going 😊 hugs from Alaska all 🎉🎉
This video is a lifesaver. Thank you! I have bought a bunch of Ice Yarns, but never Saver, and have been wondering how it stacks up to Premier Basix and various Hobbii yarns (which are about the same gauge as Red Heart Super Saver). This helps a lot!
Hola, Juan. I love Ice Yarn Company. The prices are phenomenal. The more you buy the better you are. I took the price of the shipping and divided it by the amount of skeins and it was about .25 cents more per skein. Much cheaper than going to the store.
Hi Juan. Crystal from bag o day mentioned you and said to check you out. So glad I did. Love your comparison of saver to other yarns. I miss Michael's value yarn too
Thank you for doing this review, I can't tell you how many times I've had saver in my cart, and taken it out because I was afraid I would be upset about ordering red heart super saver from Turkey, instead of a trip to Joann or Walmart. I am a Red Heart girl all day every day. Kinda glad I always put it back and bought other yarns I can't get here.
Thank you for your honest review! I've never ordered from ICE. I order almost everything since Covid. I need to check out their site for myself! More great content! Thank you Juan!
Hey Juan, Crystal gave us the link tonight to your channel on her live and now I'm a new subscriber. Watched 4 of your videos so far and I loved them. Good luck with your channel.
Juan: if you had to choose between Caron One Pound and RedHeart Super Saver Jumbo, which would you choose? All things considered: cost, yardage, softness, stitch definition, etc. Anyone else wanting to put their 2 cents in? Go for it!
Hi Juan! Just found your channel! Thanks to Crystal! Thank you for your review on this yarn!. Overall, I really love Ice yarns. I have had really good luck getting more "exotic" yarns from them. I don't mind yarns with a halo as a rule. In fact, I love working with yarns with mohair! But if I was buying an acrylic, expecting a nice, clean look, I would probably be unhappy with purchasing the Saver yarn. As far as the shipping on Ice yarns, once you divide it out by the number of balls, it usually still comes out less than stuff you can get stateside. Especially if you are ordering online, because their shipping is not always cheap either! So good to see a lefty crocheter on RUclips. Can't wait to watch some of your tutorials! Good luck and I hope your channel continues to grow by leaps and bounds!
Hi Juan, I have always loved Saver yarn, like the color variety and how it works up. Caron one pound is another favorite. I enjoy your videos, nice contents. Take care of you,my friend ❤
I have been hearing about this yarn. Thanks for reviewing, unless I can see and touch it’s impossible to know what I’m getting And I like to browse and match colors
I love Ice yarn, I have ordered many times and will order more in the future, but I always keep in mind that ice yarns seem to run thinner then you think it would.😃
🌺Aloha Juan, Crystal @ BOD sent me and I'm happy to be here loved the review and your opinion. It's always helpful and interesting to hear others point of view and how mine matches or differs. I'm saving up for an ice yarn order and can't wait to try some new to me yarn😊
Another value acrylic I have found and liked: Hobby Lobby had one called Crafter's Secret. Just another worth looking at. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but in hopes that folks are prepared for just-in-case: In today's global climate you might want to consider where your yarn and supplies are coming from and plan ahead. I have a thing for certain yarns that are made in Turkey, so I'm trying to think ahead and take advantage of sales on those yarns. Perhaps you love a yarn made in China and don't ever want to be without it? And so on. It's not about politics or anything like that, it's just reality and being aware of the possibilities that some things from some places may not always be easy to source. That goes for pretty much anything, not just yarn. We live in interesting times . . . . . Binge watching your content, Juan.
Hi Juan, I am so glad bag o day suggested to come to check you out... Personally I don't like red heart supper saver, and I am very careful with value yarn, because irritate my fingers while crocheting, and make me itchy when I wear it...I do like pound of love tho...never order ice yarn but I might check out their website maybe they have some yarn I might like....
Hi Juan, I came back to this video cause I remembered you made comparisons on the thickness of the 4 weight yarns. Really helpful, thanks! I’m actually looking for thinner ones that work better on Sentro knitting machine.
I love the Craftsmart Value yarn. Michaels is rebranding it as Loops and Threads "Soft Classic". It's the same awesome thickness and feel as Craftsmart Value. Yay! I ordered it online as my Michael's is really low on Craftsmart as well. Hope this helps!
That craftsmart/ value craft has been my fav for quite a while. Unfortunately I live in Hawaii (no Michaels stores on island) and Michael's charges and arm a leg and your first born to ship to Hawaii so I typically only buy once in a while but I always stick up on the craftsmart/value craft when I do because it is my absolute favorite 4 weight
Stumbled across your video today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good job!!! Was wondering about dralon yarn and u explained it well. I’m a dual crafter. Knitted since 14. Learn in 4H and self taught myself crocheting around 18. I started with red heart all those years ago. Hmmm as old as u r I’ve been knitting. Lol I rarely use red heart as my go to value yarn but still think they have the best ombré out there. Keep up the great job U have a new subscriber 😊
It was amazing & very helpful that you are comparing yarns. However I’m always looking for the softest yarn over all. So, perhaps if you ever compare yarns again could you include which is the softest yarn over all or grades thereof. Many thanks 👏😊😘
Juan...I join 3 other crocheters and buy Ice yarn. We always purchase enough to earn free shipping. It is the only way to go. It is inexpensive that way. Blessings
Hello and thank you for your videos! They are packed with great intel! Can you please do a video explaining yarn weights?! I have a ton of yarn that was gifted and no bands describing the specifics ! Thanks I’m advance.
I'm so picky with Acrylic yarns because they tend to feel very different based on brand for me. I'm very texture sensitive. I've had some very soft acrylics that just seem better spun, so they are much softer. Buying yarn online is really hard for me because I have to be able to feel it. So it's nice to hear reviews on what they compare to feel-wise.
Nice review thanks so much! There is no super saver yarn here apart from Spotlight's brand which is meh and doesn't have a great selection. Great to know I can get some decent value yarn from Ice, super helpful thanks again ❤
I like a good value yarn. Mostly Hobby Lobby yarns with the 30percent off and Walmart yarns. Sometimes Joann Twist is nice. I haven't bought much from Michaels. I also haven't ordered yarn. I will probably at some point.
Loved the info on ICE! I think 💭 t is fuzzy lol. I agree I do like fuzzy in some projects but then it needs to be the very intentional fuzzy. Like you if I don’t want fuzzy I don’t want it period.
Love your videos. I would love to watch your videos in a full screen. It comes out as a center screen narrow rectangle. Maybe it’s my low tech ability?? Can you change anything to make the video play full screen automatically? Thanks
Hello! BOD just sent a bunch of us your way!❤

Came over from BOD -- she was very complimentary of you!! good job!
'Hairy', 'halo', whatever works! 🤣😜 Thx for showing us your ice yarn. I've STILL not placed an order with them, yet. 😊👍🧶
Hi Juan, Crystal from Bag-o-day sent me over to your channel. Glad you have joined the crochet community. Will be watching out for you.
Crystal at BOD gave us all a "shout out" for you👋👍
Hello BOD sent us over!!!

I've tried other ICE yarns specifically Picasso but never tried the value acrylic. Thanks for your candor. I'll be watching. Bag o day was right! 😊

I’m with you, I love Value Craft yarn.. 100%…. I love the colors & how it works up…. I hope it stays around!
🧡🧶Hello, thank you for the awesome side by side... im heading over to ICE yarns to look around. I will be back to watch more of your videos tonight. Im working an 8 hr overnight shift, and appreciate your company.
I have never tried ice yarns mainly because of shipping prices. Thanks for the review 😊
Me as well! Too much in shipping because the yarn prices r so cheap so they have to make money and it’s thru shipping unfortunately

@@karylmonaco8174 hmmmmm don’t know! I always pay for shipping at joanns or herschners etc so what is better?
Watching as a catch-up. Can't get most of these yarns here in the UK but love your honest appraisal of them.

Very nice review. I was surprised by the difference in the two samples
Awesome! Thanks for the review! 💕💕
I find the more I buy from Ice even when shipping goes up it still equals less per ball when I am buying the sale price yarns from Ice.
Hi! My Zoom told me about you. Then Crystal BOD said how good you are. Nice to meet you.
Just received my first Ice yarns last week. Excited to try it.

Enjoyed your yarn review. I like how you compared. I don't have any ice yarn.
Thanks for the review. For in Lefty to another 😊
I like a good value yarn. Mostly Hobby Lobby yarns with the 30percent off and Walmart yarns. Sometimes Joann Twist is nice. I haven't bought much from Michaels. I also haven't ordered yarn. I will probably at some point.
Enjoyed your yarn review 😊
Nice comparison, thank you!
Loved the info on ICE! I think 💭 t is fuzzy lol. I agree I do like fuzzy in some projects but then it needs to be the very intentional fuzzy. Like you if I don’t want fuzzy I don’t want it period.
Good comparison. Really informative. Thanks.
Thanks for the yarn review. Much appreciated
Thanks for the yarn review
I have never used Saver. Ice yarns is very popular!
I love the saver yarn, and i would choose it over SS.
💕🙏🏼🌷 Best wishes I hope your channel grows to an insane number . Great content. Keep up the good work
Great video! Enjoyed the comparison with other value yarns.
Heard about your channel from BOD. Love your content.
❤love your channel ❤ love seeing all the things and all the stuff keep up the great work.x
Love your videos. I would love to watch your videos in a full screen. It comes out as a center screen narrow rectangle. Maybe it’s my low tech ability?? Can you change anything to make the video play full screen automatically? Thanks
