In most DV cases (according to research and my own experience in survivor support groups), it’s the emotional abuse that causes the most profound and lasting damage. I’m glad so many are picking up on how dangerous this man is.
Scotty is SCARY. He called her a gaslighter because he was projecting. 100%. He wanted to say it first because he knew that's exactly what HE has been doing. Now if she says it, it sounds like she's the one deflecting. The casting for this show needs to do psych evals on these people. Scotty & Nick were both way too unstable & abusive to be platformed like this. It's actually disgusting.

Properly trained security as well as qualified counselors might improve the level of emotional and physical safety - especially for vulnerable women - on these trash shows. But that would create a completely different "show." Production and the folks in charge go way too far allowing abuse. I'm glad more people are speaking on it, as well as filing lawsuits.
Dated a guy in my 20s who was never physically abusive but he was very verbally abusive. I ended it because I was not sticking around to wait for it to turn physical. Scotty reminds me of him so much, he needs to work on himself and not be looking for marriage.
Its actually wild to me how quick JR was to forget about Zaina! His reaction to Sandy keeping in contact with Nic and giving their relationship a chance was wild because JR was ready to drop everything for that girl!
I have so much respect for how calm and collected Zaina defused that situation with Scotty. She immediately recognised what was going on and showed Scotty what he was doing. Scotty seems like the kind of guy who thinks he can get away with this kind of behaviour. And when he can't, he feels like he's not in control and loses interest. You could tell how his demeanour towards her changed after this scene. He doesn't respect women and the way he was put in his place by Zaina made him realise he can't pull his manipulative shit with her.
The problem with Zaina is that she doesn´t seem to be very real in a relationship. It almost feels like she´s watching other people and excludes herself. She wants to be a mother more than to get married... I think she´s looking for love at all the wrong places...
I just don’t want ppl thinking that if they remain calm and collected, that guarantees that the other person will. As we allll know that isn’t always the case. And when we get in situations like this in the real world, there is no camera crew and security waiting at the door to save you if you were unsuccessful in calming down a man child.

I can easily see Nick texting her that he misses her, and her saying she misses him back just to satisfy him. It wasn't shady to me at all
I don’t like JR, but I think it’s definitely shady if she’s complaining about Nick texting her while conveniently omitting the fact that she’s texting him as well. Also, as far as Zaina. She did her thing and told Scotty about himself. But I’ll always prioritize safety over getting the last word. Most times there won’t be cameras and security around when someone is dealing with a Scotty. His behavior in that scene was disturbing and I wouldn’t stick around to go back and forth with someone displaying that kind of behavior. Did anyone else notice that Nick got the same words tattooed that JR has? Also you can see on Nick’s arm where the tattoo was repositioned. Meaning the tattoo artist placed it, asked Nick for his approval, Nick looked at it and didn’t like it, and then it was moved to the current location. Sooo I’m not sure I buy that he just accidentally got the same words tattooed as JR and just didn’t happen to notice the words. Be for real Nick.

Nick is another one like Scotty but a tiny bit different. Nick implodes on himself which can also lead to physical abuse in the relationship while Scotty explodes on his partner which obviously leads to physical abuse.

12:53 YES 100%. I was in an abusive relationship for 2.5 years. I look back at my very first date with him and I can identify the single moment where I could have identified who this person was and ran. We were at the movie theater and I had forgotten my wallet and apologized for not being able to pay for my ticket. He looks at me with disdain and says "What, you think this is a date?!" BOOM. Should have run as far away as possible, but I had very low self esteem at the time and was desperate for love and attention.

I love watching these shows, and they make me thankful for being single. It would be a nightmare to marry one of these guys and be stuck with them, especially with kids and all. But the ladies also have issues-Zaina is looking for love in the wrong places, and she needs to be a lot more assertive. She´s a pleaser, so the guys never know what she is thinking or what she really really wants. The other two want to be in a relationship so bad that they are willing to compromise on anything - they don´t seem to be very sure of themselves either... We attract people based on who we are - if we don´t know who we are and want for real, we attract indecisive people who will play us...

Yes I definitely believe that these conflicts are a bit scripted. That’s why I wanted to make it clear to ppl watching that every exit doesn’t need a speech and safety should always be prioritized when someone is displaying Scottie’s behaviors. When we get into conflicts, we won’t have camera crews and security at the door to save us if we’re not able to calm another adult down. But as far as the shows, producers definitely request these conversations for the sake of drama.

Nick is full of crap. He said he gave the tattoo artist the wrong tattoo, but that’s a lie. When the artist first started the tattoo you can see where he tried to place it in one spot and then they decided on a different area. Which means, he saw the tattoo. He got the same tattoo as JR. I was watching and thought it was weird because JR explained what the tattoo meant to Sandy’s mom. Nick is weird.

I kinda get Sandy on this because I have had to deal with my fair share of Nick's and that explosive behavior, when someone does not have their emotions in check and they are projecting those onto everyone else it is very intense. And when someone is in a bad place mentally and bombarding your phone nonstop, it makes perfect sense to eventually respond and say whatever it takes for them to calm down. I think although Sandy has navigated this "experiment" poorly and with little taste, I understand why she is overwhelmed and why she still thinks of it as harassment even if she is replying occasionally. I bet she feels like she can't not respond or it will get worse and more intense. Clearly they have a lot of communication issues and she is unhappy in the relationship - she clearly does not want to marry him and should just break up with him. Or like idk she should have not agreed to go on the show honestly. Just because she is playing into it, doesn't mean its not harassment. Nick should never be behaving like this and Sandy needs to set fucking boundaries and then actually hold him to the boundaries when he breaks them.

Properly trained security as well as qualified counselors might improve the level of emotional and physical safety - especially for vulnerable women - on these trash shows. But that would create a completely different "show." Production and the folks in charge go way too far allowing abuse. I'm glad more people are speaking on it, as well as filing lawsuits.

I have so much respect for how calm and collected Zaina defused that situation with Scotty. She immediately recognised what was going on and showed Scotty what he was doing. Scotty seems like the kind of guy who thinks he can get away with this kind of behaviour. And when he can't, he feels like he's not in control and loses interest. You could tell how his demeanour towards her changed after this scene. He doesn't respect women and the way he was put in his place by Zaina made him realise he can't pull his manipulative shit with her.
The problem with Zaina is that she doesn´t seem to be very real in a relationship. It almost feels like she´s watching other people and excludes herself. She wants to be a mother more than to get married... I think she´s looking for love at all the wrong places...
I just don’t want ppl thinking that if they remain calm and collected, that guarantees that the other person will. As we allll know that isn’t always the case. And when we get in situations like this in the real world, there is no camera crew and security waiting at the door to save you if you were unsuccessful in calming down a man child.

I can easily see Nick texting her that he misses her, and her saying she misses him back just to satisfy him. It wasn't shady to me at all

Also, as far as Zaina. She did her thing and told Scotty about himself. But I’ll always prioritize safety over getting the last word. Most times there won’t be cameras and security around when someone is dealing with a Scotty. His behavior in that scene was disturbing and I wouldn’t stick around to go back and forth with someone displaying that kind of behavior. No matter how much I know that I can get them all the way together.

Did anyone else notice that Nick got the same words tattooed that JR has? Also you can see on Nick’s arm where the tattoo was repositioned. Meaning the tattoo artist placed it, asked Nick for his approval, Nick looked at it and didn’t like it, and then it was moved to the current location. Sooo I’m not sure I buy that he just accidentally got the same words tattooed as JR and just didn’t happen to notice the words. Be for real Nick.

I look back at my very first date with him and I can identify the single moment where I could have identified who this person was and ran. We were at the movie theater and I had forgotten my wallet and apologized for not being able to pay for my ticket. He looks at me with disdain and says "What, you think this is a date?!" BOOM. Should have run as far away as possible, but I had very low self esteem at the time and was desperate for love and attention.

It’s a show so they had to give us some drama. But I don’t think that it’s her job to regulate a grown man’s emotions and keep him calm. Scottie was displaying abusive behavior. I would’ve rather Zaina choose her safety first and let him sit and be angry with himself. Also this is a tv show with camera crews and security around. I wouldn’t want a young woman watching this to think “as long as I keep him calm and diffuse the situation, everything will be ok.” When we all know that won’t always be the case.

She did not feed into nor overly criticize this clearly disturbed person. And the more I advance in the show, the more I am actually scared for Sandy and empathised with her. She is in danger with Nick. No wonder why she was attracted to someone that she felt could protect her like JR (although I can't stand JR either, he is not nearly as horrible as those 2 guys, he is more regular shitty guy).

I love watching these shows, and they make me thankful for being single. It would be a nightmare to marry one of these guys and be stuck with them, especially with kids and all. But the ladies also have issues-Zaina is looking for love in the wrong places, and she needs to be a lot more assertive. She´s a pleaser, so the guys never know what she is thinking or what she really really wants. The other two want to be in a relationship so bad that they are willing to compromise on anything - they don´t seem to be very sure of themselves either... We attract people based on who we are - if we don´t know who we are and want for real, we attract indecisive people who will play us...

Yes I definitely believe that these conflicts are a bit scripted. That’s why I wanted to make it clear to ppl watching that every exit doesn’t need a speech and safety should always be prioritized when someone is displaying Scottie’s behaviors. When we get into conflicts, we won’t have camera crews and security at the door to save us if we’re not able to calm another adult down. But as far as the shows, producers definitely request these conversations for the sake of drama.

Love is Blind is already insane with them only knowing each other for a month, but in this case it's even crazier as they show up with an actual existing relationship. I kinda get Sandy on this because I have had to deal with my fair share of Nick's and that explosive behavior, when someone does not have their emotions in check and they are projecting those onto everyone else it is very intense. And when someone is in a bad place mentally and bombarding your phone nonstop, it makes perfect sense to eventually respond and say whatever it takes for them to calm down. I think although Sandy has navigated this "experiment" poorly and with little taste, I understand why she is overwhelmed and why she still thinks of it as harassment even if she is replying occasionally. I bet she feels like she can't not respond or it will get worse and more intense. Clearly they have a lot of communication issues and she is unhappy in the relationship - she clearly does not want to marry him and should just break up with him. Or like idk she should have not agreed to go on the show honestly. Just because she is playing into it, doesn't mean its not harassment. Nick should never be behaving like this and Sandy needs to set fucking boundaries and then actually hold him to the boundaries when he breaks them.
