The one thing people forget most of the time is, that people struggling often need nothing more than to see that someone cares, that someone supports them and that it's not all for nothing. People think "what can I do? it's not worth it", when simple acts like showing up and just asking how they are can make their day. "someone cares" is a powerful emotion, when you're under pressure for a long long time.
@@liquidminds It can be a huge hurt, though, to have people just ask about how you are suffering and then say, "Gee, that's bad..." and leave. It feels like you are the entertainment and you have just given them local gossip. If you are turning up, turn up to positively act. Someone in this community could have asked around for a washing machine that worked but was upgraded, and helped them with a $50 2nd hand washing machine. A $100 dryer... Someone could have given them a kitchen sink, set up in garden, where they could wash things with hot water from electric jug and hosewater, to correct temp, and it could drain straight to the roots of a garden tree. You can usually find a kitchen sink for free at the local tip, or 2nd hand, for $20. Set it up at a nice height for washing up, with cinder blocks... Someone could have offered them the use of their washing machine, a few hours a week. A lot of organic gardeners set up a backyard sink to rinse their homegrown veg, so they are rinsed before being taken inside. The sink empties into a veg bed or onto a tree water shadow. Any tatty veg leaves go to chooks or compost, before you take them inside... Their problem didn't have to be so desperate and if they bought 2nd hand, online or yard sales, moving sales, some of their problems could have been fixed for very little. What the problem is with their kitchen, I don't know. That sounds like it would need a plumber. But certainly, a lot of these problems could have been fixed by community, for a small amount. It didn't need SS.

He was already in tears when he was telling his wife to come out! Some people are feeling so down and out, and when Not being able to provide for their loves ones, it breaks their hearts. They are speechless with such acts of kindness!!

They deserve this gift so much. You never know what people are going through. This Secret Santa is wonderful. What a compassionate person they are. So happy for this couple. May God bless and watch over them.
Needless to say, the money is a God-send, but I think what truly overwhelms people like this is the fact that others care so deeply about them and want to help make their load lighter. I hope 2021 is a brighter year for them.
Reminds me of the poem I learned as a child "I felt sorry for myself as I had no shoes until I met the man who had no feet". Translation: there is ALWAYS someone worse off and you never know what someone is going through.
You dont even know how that saying affected me so deeply years ago. I was sitting in the salon one day waiting for a pedicure, lamenting that one of my feet was so ugly with its bunion, crossed over toe and missing toenail. Another lady sat down beside me that only had one foot. I was so ashamed of myself.
We mostly only see negative stuff on news and social media about America here in Australia, but it's people like you all at secret Santa that restores our faith in Americans 🙏😇
Migraines are so debilitating people don’t understand if they’ve never actually experienced one. Wishing this lovely couple a happy Christmas 🎄 and best wishes for the future from my home in London ( 8pm) here 🇬🇧🇺🇸💐💕
My dad suffered from them and I saw how they would wipe him out as he could only lay down in complete darkness. I remember stuffing towels at the bottom of his bedroom door so that no light could shine into his room.
They are, I have MS, epilepsy, and chronic migraines. The migraines set everything off, and puts my life on hold for weeks at a time. I’m so happy for this couple, that they received such a blessing.
AMEN! Let this show that some rich people have hearts. Our government officials sure don't and those that own big businesses in other states don't either except Sam's Club, they donate food for the poor. GOD knows who donates money or food and who doesn't. They that don't help the needy will not be remembered in heaven.
My husband has been completely disabled for over 13 years from chronic daily intractable migraine. It's a devestating illness. Blessing to both of you. Thank you Secret Santa for your generosity and love, and for lifting a great burden for this couple.
My take away from the Secret Santa is this: we can all give a little bit more to help those in need. Not Daddy Government, not taxes, not laws. Just people helping other people.
Yes true. I felt so sad watching this. I think he started crying because he recognised Nate and realised maybe he's getting some help. Bcos his wife knew who Nate was right away.
It’s not a crime. People make choices, good or bad. Things happen in this world and it isn’t always someone’s fault. If not for this county’s freedom and standard of living there wouldn’t be anyone around to give away $10,000.
