      Yeah, I've since started collecting the Umineko manga but it's proving to be difficult. I managed to get the first volume of legend of the Golden Witch, both volumes of Banquet of the Golden Witch, Volumes 2 and 3 of Alliance of the Golden Witch, Volumes 2 and 3 of Dawn of the Golden Witch, all the volumes to Requiem of the Golden Witch, and I'll soon have all the volumes to Twilight of the Golden Witch. The rest though are impossible to find for reasonable prices, especially episode five (End of the Golden Witch) like you said. Good luck in trying to find Umineko episode five! So far the Higurashi manga is great and the very little I've skimmed through the Umineko manga was really good too.

    • @NoahsArchive357
      @NoahsArchive357  3 года назад +1

      The first story arc, the Abducted by Demons arc, can be read on it's own as a complete story. Now, there will be no shortage of unanswered questions, since it is the introduction chapter to an eight part mystery, but there is a complete story in there and there won't be a cliffhanger (at least not in the traditional sense) leading to the next part. It's kind of hard to explain without spoilers haha. So kind of yes and no. The overarching story and mysteries won't be complete, but the Abducted by Demons story arc will be complete if you are able to obtain the first two volumes of the Higurashi manga. Hope that answer helped!

    Nice unboxing! The entire WTC manga is such a pain to collect tbh. I've been trying to complete both Higu and Umi in the past 2 months. I got lucky af and someone sold me their entire Umi collection except ep 6 vol 2 and someone else also sold me their 20 Higu vols. The only things I still need are Umi ep 6 vol 2 and Higu 13,14,20,21,23 and 25. Idk if it's even possible when literally every single one of these vols is over 100 rn. I am NOT paying that much for a volume lmao😭😭

    • @NoahsArchive357
      @NoahsArchive357  3 года назад +1

      It really is such a hassle to try and collect them all, I'm still trying hard to get Umineko 5-3 and 6-1. That's awesome that you got someone to sell you their entire Umineko manga collection (minus 6-2)- I was pretty happy someone was willing to do that but with the Higurashi manga for myself. I'm sure one day we'll both manage to get the volumes we need- we just gotta be diligent about checking a bunch of websites pretty regularly (I check eBay and Abebooks pretty much everyday at this point). Good luck with collecting the Higurashi and one Umineko volume you're missing!

    So which version of the anime I need to watch that is close or is like the manga... the original or the remake?

    • @NoahsArchive357
      @NoahsArchive357  2 года назад

      So for the anime, the original adaption of the visual novels by studio Deen is where you want to start if you want to experience Higurashi via its anime adaptations! So start with the Higurashi: When They Cry 2006 anime series, then go to it's second season- Higurashi: When They Cry Kai (2007). This concludes the main story. There is also a third OVA season called Higurashi: When They Cry Rei (2009), but you only need to watch episodes 2-4 of that season as those three episodes are an epilogue to the main story (and a great sendoff to Higurashi). The other two episodes of that season are non-canon fanservicey types of OVA's. Ignoring Higurashi Kira because it's....different, the next Higurashi anime's you would want to watch to continue the story are Higurashi: When They Cry Gou and Higurashi: When They Cry Sotsu. Originally, Gou was believed to be a remake of the Higurashi anime but it ended up being a sequel actually, and Sotsu is the second season/continuation of Gou's story. The quality of Gou/Sotsu's story is up in the air but in my personal opinion, it's still worth experiencing. I think Gou is genuinely great (if not a LITTLE oddly paced at times) and Sotsu starts off cool but by the end is a big disappointment. That being said, I actually love the second to last episode of Sotsu and even in it's disappointing/boring moments, it still has some great moments. So again, I still recommend them! Maybe take a small break in between Higurashi Rei and Higurashi Gou because it could be very easy to get Higurashi burnout going straight from the original story to Gou's, for reasons I can't really explain without spoilers. If you enjoyed Higurashi though, you could give either the Umineko: When They Cry visual novels or manga a shot in the break between Rei and Gou (absolutely not the anime for Umineko it is BAD lol) as it's Higurashi's spiritual successor and does tie into Higurashi in certain ways. Still stands amazing on it's own (it's genuinely one of my favorite stories of all time), but I think you get just a tad bit more out of it if you've previously experienced Higurashi. Hope this comment helped!!

      Those vn's will keep you busy for a while! And it's never too late to start collecting the manga, it may be hard to get some volumes but if you check enough places online everyday you're bound to find them eventually!

    • @ayoitsalecs
      @ayoitsalecs 3 года назад +2

      @aseaoffragments they're so hard to find even on manga sites. Most of them have like one volume and that's it. I've found some of the novels from the anime/manga but they're all in japanese. I've even found the plot of the OVAs but can't do anything with that since it's all in japanese. Anyways, kind of interesting to see stuff like that.

    • @NoahsArchive357
      @NoahsArchive357  3 года назад

      @@ayoitsalecs Yeah, there's a lot of the Japanese copies out there but I want to read them once it's complete so that sadly never interested me (unless the Japanese versions came with something exclusive to justify me buying it twice but that typically doesn't happen). I really hope with how relevant Higurashi is again, that it and the Umineko manga series would get a reprint. Although I guess it's more likely for the new manga adaptation of Higurashi Gou to get licensed in English at this point (something I'd still be happy with but I'd like both).

    I'm still able to find the complete series when I scour the Internet it's just that they sell them in one by one so you have to research a lot I don't see why it's out of stock though it makes no sense to me that they don't print anymore just because it's so popular still I mean they even have a new anime series arguably not really a remake and I agree with you man Higurashi is one of my favorite animes and manga series of all time and I love the umineko manga as much as I love Higurashi they may be connected but they are so much different that if you read both of them it feels original and I read the entire manga series although for the very same reason I had to read it online it's just so crazy that they don't make no sense that they don't publish more the series in itself it's amazing and it's sad in my personal opinion on the industry disrespectful to the series they haven't re-published then they don't respect it like it deserves to be respected the sad truth is I don't think it'll ever change do black people get behind it
