Tom Skerrit was in a lot of shows, Hawaii 5-0, Mod Squad, Police story. Even a Steven King horror movie in the early millaniam. He has been around. Good actor.

Great episode but the germans ambushed the american truck but what happened to the german medic and the wounded german, as they were loading themselves on the truck,😊That german commander he was in several episodes,Did he say Americana Volkswagen,🙃👍👌Davis take it easy Saunders goes oh well hes dead.Nice doggy, Tom S was a scary cat in this one,Wanted to save his own skin,Then at the end of this episode the sarge slaps h im across the kisser 🤝👄The german medic is helping the wounded guy,Im falling and I cant get up.
I liked it better in black and white . It seemed more realistic . Heck I'd even listen to the show on the radio if it would have been on . But it was not .
Oh, there was one episode where they got caught by zhr Germans and had to escape the hart way. but folks did not liked to see this on TV so such skript ideas had been skipt from then on. As with other shows, when Barry Newman became asked on German TV why he always won his cases in PETROCELLI he told his talk show host that in one episode he had done so but the film company after wards became flooded with so much hate male that they never did an episode like that anymore. So blame the original viewers of this Quality Series and not the script writers or the producers.
No point getting shot holding an empty gun. No chance of surrendering if you are brandishing a stolen German machine gun. That would not go down well with your captors.
These dogs were police trained and not military trained - they went for the weapon and not for the man. On Hogan's Heroes they are tamed to like the very men they are meant to hunt LOL. The prisoner's best friends. :-)
