Only a suggestion, but on your burning barrel, take a grinder with a 4 or 6'' cutting wheel and cut some V vents. 4 around the center and 4 around the bottom. I have had burning barrels for 45 years and in 10 minutes, yours would work 1000 times better.

So sorry hearing about your friend's illness. This is a real wake up call to rethink the necessity for having decent health insurance and yearly health check ups for all of us. Thanks for helping another family. This must have been very difficult for both of you.

Here is a tip for you guys take your gun and shoot some hole thru your burn barrel .. it will burn a lot cleaner! Plus you can get some target practice in!!

We live in an ICF house. You’re going to love yours, the energy savings is enormous. We also have solar powered heated floors and it’s sooo comfortable! We’re amazed that more people have not built this way. We live above five thousand feet (AZ) and have only used a half a cord all winter to supplement the solar.
This place looks like it's going to be amazing when done.

I just cannot tell y'all how my heart soared when I saw the title and then when you were walking around and showing where the walls would be, closet, kitchen sink, windows and doors. I am just so happy for y'all! I know. I know. I am a broken record. LOL I am just super excited for your whole family! I bet the girls are getting way excited too. I can hardly stand to wait for the next video.
Also, how is your friend? I shared your video, but I am not too sure how much that helps. I just pray he has been able to receive enough money to get the dental stuff done and maybe even a donor for the kidney.

I'm sorry if this sounds dumb but... With the rain that you got is there any concern about the water getting down into the channels in the foam before the concrete is poured? I'm just envisioning all these little puddles in the bottom of the walls. LOL.
the concrete will displace any water during the pour.

Yup, we cut 4 V's around the center ring and 4 V's around the bottom. Burns like a Blacksmiths fire !

You can’t ‘over do re-bar’ other than cost... I see so many builds where they skim to save a dollar but will regret it with cracking and movement later.

The block system appears to be more labor intensive than traditional wood framing. What was the reasoning for the block?
Love they layout. The wood supports around the windows and doors helps to see the plan.

I have to say that I have never seen this building method used in New Hampshire. A very interesting concept. We went with a modular in 2016, because it was considerably less money than a stick built house and solidly constructed. They house sections have to be solid in order to be shipped on the highways. Please lets us know the difference in cost for this method. Someone commented that you may regret stairs later on. That is a good point. We have a walk-in cellar with stairs and we both "70 something". We plan to get a stair climber to initially use to bring up wood, groceries and laundry and maybe eventually...us! looking forward to seeing the outcome of those forms. Will the concrete walls give the house thermal mass?
Yes the thermal mass is a big part of the energy efficiency
