Also Bunting may be a little chippier, but he's also tends to be a bit of a diver/embellisher, which brings him down in my books. Also I would argue Hyman plays with just as much intensity, but it tends to be more focused on sniffing out the puck, then annoying the other teams. Though he does have a chippiness to his game as well. Either way the Leafs dodged a bullet with his contact. I love him, but he isn't worth that much, and finding his replacement for so cheap is an amazing win.

Just skating around holding it like this is not only difficult, it's also a "low percentage" play most of the time.
I played hockey with this one guy that was a menace on the pk. He would do the exact same thing as Hyman did he except for the majority of the pk and quite often actually scored.
I know we can't afford it but adding hyman to the leafs pk would be so serious that they would probably try to pick up penalties rather than fight to turn momentum

Honestly amazed teams don’t try to kill penalties like this more often. Not necessarily 1 man wrecking crews but moving puck around enough to eat clock without intention of shooting
Some players just love doing the dirty work. Zach could've been a scorer, he has the skill, but he realized his value in doing the ugly things. To make life easier for Austin Mathews and now Mcdavid. It's a very mature thought process. Not many players would do that.
It's much safer to do a line change when you're clearing the puck than when you're possessing the pick in your defensive zone or around center ice (unless you're able to keep possession of the puck in the offensive zone, but that's extremely difficult to do short handed without being vulnerable to an odd man rush). And being able to do a line change during a penalty kill is very important.
