    Arundhati Roy is a world-renowned Indian author and global justice activist. From her celebrated Booker-Prize winning novel The God of Small Things, to her prolific output of writing on topics ranging from climate change to war, the perils of free-market development, and the defense of the poor, Roy’s voice has become indispensable to millions seeking a better world.
    Arundhati Roy was awarded the Lannan Cultural Freedom Prize in 2002, the Sydney Peace Prize in 2004, and the Norman Mailer Prize for Distinguished Writing in 2011.
    On her first visit to Vancouver, Roy will read from a range of her works, and speak of her journey in writing and activism.
