I'm even more impressed that the "child" who was just too excited for his Christmas presents managed to survive five nights and successfully managed and created a powerful ritual to seal or kill Mama a toy that chased the child for five nights straight trying to kill them
before any updates, there was only one ending and it's where the child dies. The update adding the new ending

Resident Evil did it too, as did House of the Dead and a few other games. It was also done in movies a lot before that, so it was a thing a lot longer than FNAF. FNAF just seemed to start this trend of the horror indie darlings. I guess that made the trope popular again.

Fun fact about the ritual that takes place in the basement: A pentagram is actually NOT a demonic symbol. It's actually a holy one, used to protect people AGAINST demons. Gives the impression the ritual was a banishing ritual, not a summoning one.

Tbh the distressed father theory would make sense.
If they know that the mother decided to test their toys on the kid, they would obviously get stressed and move away so they can help their kid from the shadows, since the father is literally out of the picture. Plus, in the DLC, I noticed something very odd. The mysterious letter writer said: "I'm glad I'm the person picking this time." What would that mean?

Now this game was always pretty confusing to me, as I’m sure it is with everyone, but a few days ago it struck me:
What if this game is a metaphor for a kid trying to escape the control their abusive mother?
That’s why this kid’s opening his Christmas present early, that’s why the antagonist is Mama Tattletail, that’s why the game ends when you wake your mom up.
And it’s also why you CAN’T wake your mom up until that point in the game. By the time you beat Mama, you’re not afraid anymore.
Then is the man who sends you letters in the kaleidoscope your father trying to win you?

Quick correction, the pentacle/pentagram is not an inherently demonic symbol. It is a pagan symbol which references the connection of the elements to the body and the universe as a whole. It is a religious symbol of most Wiccans, and doesn't actually mean anything negative- the use of it as a representation of evil was an appropriation. The ritual in the game is honestly more akin to a house blessing- a spell used to ward away negative and malevolent spirits.
It's a similar story to the Swastika, since it was a Buddhist symbol of piece, before the Nazis decided to ruin it.

the noises when you answer the phone are actually so scary to me, i can hear my heart pounding in my ears louder than the actual thing lmao
My take on this game was simply that the kid was being badly abused by his mother, and all of this was some hallucination or nightmare he was having, trying to cope with it.

I don't know if i should be surprised by the game developers making such a hard and original story or by you finding it out and talking about it so normally.
Tattletail made me smile when I found it. I was a child in the 90s, and Momma reminds me of the Teddy Ruxpin I had. When Tattletail gets low on battery and starts to say "uh oh" in that slow, distorted creepy way especially did, since that's what Teddy Ruxpin sounded like when his batteries ran down lol.

I just noticed that the message on the box "it's for you" (shown as the very last scene of the video) sounds like something someone would say if they pick up a phone and it's not for them. It sounds like they'd shout "It's for you!". Maybe this could be alluding to something even bigger, potentially that the father was also a Waygetter employee and he was telling you that the phone messages were for you. Maybe it's all just in your head the whole game and it's a metaphor for your Mum trying to hunt you down. Any crazy thing could pass for the plot of the game at this point, so who knows, maybe that could even be correct!

Another theory for the dlc is that the person guiding the child is his brother who also had a similar experience with the toy but when entering the kaliedascope failed to complete what the child did as he's say he may have better luck than him when you enter the kaliedascope because the pictures in the house show 2 children but only one is present

i feel like knowone really fought about the fact that mamas story was also hinting to how to survive her, while also her just telling a story.
if your wondering why i think this, this is why-

I used to live with a abusive mother, in 2019 I escaped.
I was a fan of this game before then and it always creeped me out, but now I know why.
I have a THEROY that the mama robot represents the kid's real mum.
Maybe the kid was attacked by their mother along with the kids sibling in the photo in their room.

Although, there's one thing we still don't understand, why is it that at the end, the mysterious writer of the notes wrote "You did better than I did" could it be this person has experienced the same events as the child we play as in the game? Or is it possible that this person has already tried to free the child and failed, perhaps the writer messed up his own memories in the process.
I like to believe this is like the bad ending situation of the main game. The writer is a future version of the child leaving breadcrumbs. It leads to an infinite loop. The child failed, and the only reason for the notes to be there are because it was the child leaving them. Nobody else would have access to things only accessible, things entirely exclusive to their memories, other than the child themselves.
