I’m pretty sure that’s a male . I saw him in another video trying to get some from the skinny female that makes the really funny faces. I looked closely at the face in that video and he has the beginnings of the cheek pads only males get, although they don’t fully develop in all males. I also watched for clear shots of his “other end” and sure enough at the end of the video I saw his 2 little…well you know. I guess the female won’t give it up so he’s determined to get some wherever possible.
It’s strange how other than bonobos, you don’t see much same gender activity in the wild. But after watching so many videos from zoos around the world it appears that captivity leads them to break all the rules. And I do mean ALL the rules. I’ve seen some orangutans, which arecmy favorite primate because of how intelligent and chill and sweet they typically are, especially with their little ones. Unfortunately I stumbled on to a small family engaging in some truly bizarre stuff that probably scarred me for life. Things I’ve never even heard of the sickest humans doing. The other thing I realized is that the really unsettling stuff seems to be much more common in the Asian zoos than anywhere else in the world.
