  • So, let's talk about Distortion. It's a very hyped up and argued about Perk in Dead By Daylight that is cause for much drama online and in the DBD community as of late...
    Opinions are my own. Please be kind and understand its just a videogame. We all deserve to have fun and entitled to our own opinions. Thank you for watching.

    So agreed with this! I like using it for stealth and find out killer’s build but still interact! Great video Bb 🫶🏼💜

      I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Heaven forbid survivors wanna be stealthy. Usually after X amount of hours most players will wanna engage naturally with the killer and enjoy chases. But hey if a survivor is still scared and doesn't wanna get involved with the killer too much thats also okay. Every player is different and if teammates can notice a less experienced or more scared, doesnt wanna chase/ cba play style, we experienced players can play around that. But I do think that's a small percentage of players. Regardless, we all play differently and enjoy different things but overall, we all love DBD. Thankyou for the comment and also using distortion! 😊❤

    Distortion encourages tunneling, cause you know your aura reading perks won’t work on that survivor. So, they become a priority target. It’s just bad for the health of the game, even if you think it’s not overpowered.

      This, sometimes i just hold w at auras, and if you hide yourself away i guess im tunneling.

      @bbthebeee  2 месяца назад

      fair opinion. IMO Its not over powered. In a non toxic way, just learn to track and hunt without relying on wall hacks like older times. Less aura read = less use of a before underused perk. Not forgetting ALL the aura read add ons and perks survs get 1 counter which takes skill/experience to use after the 1st 3 stacks to get back. Most GOOD survs use chase & second chance perks imo. ALL perks need to be turned down, then players will start using other ones that don't even get used. At some point too many perks in the game as it is and no one will use a good half or more of them.

      LOL! I play killer just as much as survivor 😅 Im a plague and huntress main. I actually gave some tips in this video right here with some tracking and hunting tips. Have the facts before you post something stupid. 😅 I go against distortion sometimes but I'm good at finding survs because i know what its like to play as surv. one thing i would also like to add, its not just that there's a lot of aura perks, a bunch of them are kinda ok at best to run by themselves, the 2 exceptions imo being gearhead and weave attument(if you don't pick the item back up) are some of the only ones that don't require atleast a mostly aura build to burn enough distortion stacks to be visible, while lets say you run lethal and im all ears, you're basically never seeing that persons aura which also leads to more aura stacking builds, i don't want to see the perk needlessy gutted when its idealy not a hard fix to make it more healthy and keeping its usefullness( tho i would say gaining stacks for doing objectives would also be a perfecly fair way to gain them).

    • @bbthebeee
      @bbthebeee  2 месяца назад

      Fair opinion! Thanks for commenting and watching. I deffo believe that no perks need actual guttering. More so turned down... the OP ones that are pretty strong alone let alone matched. Guess that's the tough balance of game so many of us our yelling out for not actually balancing the game just make it more fair for both parties. Hardly see anyone using gear head! 😮
      Yes! Objectives and earning the buff seems much better. Can say the same for perks like Pain Res, I think it's gutted a bit now and after 4 hooks it's gone, surely they could rework that? 😊 They need to implement more "get experience and play trials" and less oh hey newbie player here's a perks that's gonna secure you wins with no experience or effort in the trial. Ya know? 😅

    Otz would only come up with such a ridiculous notion because he's a well known killer main who loves using aura revealing perks. Don't worry about input from others who want you to drop your guard

    • @cjparrish4651
      @cjparrish4651 2 месяца назад +2

      The same logic could be used in the inverse here, as she is a survivor main who loves using distortion. Either both of their opinions are a “ridiculous notion” or they both are speaking just from their own biased perspective.

    • @bruh-mp5bo
      @bruh-mp5bo 2 месяца назад +1

      this whole situation only explains why otz dislikes making these types of videos anymore, sure he plays mainly killer but the whole point of his video was to address problems people have with the perk. Otz literally avoided calling the perk strong, weak, op or whatever yet we still have people calling him biased, thinking that he thinks the perk is strong putting words in his mouth. He didn't even say there was anything inherently wrong with liking the stealth playstyle but you can't deny it definitely encourages tunneling when the killer can't find a survivor or two due to distortion.

      @@cjparrish4651 I play killer and I don't mind distortion players, I track survs alot differently than always using aura perks. Although Lethal at the start is fun just to get the ball rolling, been a few times ive lost a gen cause couldnt find aaaanyone when they arent even using distortion they just hiding. But still, I enjoy the thrill of finding survs and mind gaming chases. Gen slow down is vital for gen rushing if you get sweaty chaser perk survs who are just too OOP in chase CAUSE of the perks they have.

      @@bruh-mp5bo Making opinion based content on DBD is always gonna upset players on the other side of your opinion. I just disagreed with what he would change it to. I had IMO a better change idea forcing survs to be in chase. sounds more fair removing the bullshh of just crouching nearby the terror radius. I am just standing by one of my fave perks. Being one who doesnt hide with it. I'm not speaking on behalf of the players who use it to never get involved or help... I dislike that in my lobbies too.

    I have 5600 hours in this game split pretty equally on both roles, as a killer i dont mind distortion however I am gonna chase who i can see and if that includes the guy you just saved because hiding is so important thats fine with me too. As survivor getting a stealth rat always sucks, I personally am a very aggressive survivor. 7:05 im sorry i have an issue with this mentalirty im supposed to throw the game looking for distortion rats? No thanks ill just tunnel their friends

    • @bbthebeee
      @bbthebeee  2 месяца назад

      Not all Survivors who use Distortion are "rats". Many players using meta and other perks minus Distortion can be "rats" really. Just depends on players' play style.
      I don't think you understood that time you posted, to regain more stack survs have to FIND YOU and get INTO CHASE with you and earn tokens back. It's 30 seconds or something to earn a token. Some survivors don't last that long in chase. After 3 tokens at the start (which do go fairly quickly) they will (those who hide and make it harder for their team all match and the killer) HAVE to get involved and in chase. Scratch marks do exist and most good survs use meta chase and 2nd chance perk builds anyway.
      Its a small minority that use distortion and hide all game. If you get those, then yeah try find them but no need to tunnel anyone unless its end game or being abusive/toxic/ hard for you to get any hooks at all. Then yeah do what you can to get the win. But doing it just to punish a perk user when things like NOED exists since day 1 its crazy to me. This mentality over soo many wallhacks. You have similar hours to me and I would assume played many years ago, there were hardly any wall hacks and you had to seek and chase survs, BBQ and Nurses was all we got maybe the odd add-on but now its Wall Hack Meta.

    I have about 170 hours in dbd as of writing this, maybe I'm not the most qualified person to talk about this but regardless. I am red rank if that matters. Personally from the perspective of a killer main, Distortion with SWF is arguably the most frustrating experience possible. You guys have Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike, Windows of Opportunity, Resilience, Flashbang, blast mine, etc etc I mean I can go on and on. Survivors have ALOT to go off of as well. I honestly think that killers should be stronger as it, really only makes sense in the perspective of what the game is supposed to be, One Killer, 4 Survivors. Now while I don't have in issue in majority of my matches there are the few matches that really stick out to me where I, as a killer feel completely useless. As for playing survivor, I honestly find it really boring. I'll admit I suck as survivor, but I just don't find it enjoyable. If I'm running aura addons/perks and I see someone has distortion, I'll do what I can to take them out of the game, even if it means tunneling them. I shouldn't have to be screwed over just because I couldn't see a survivor that was hiding behind a wall with a flashlight in his hand despite having the proper perks to be able to deal with that situation. Survivors have strong perks, and Killers have strong perks. I agree with your statement on survivors having way too many chase perks. But you cant really blame us when we start tunneling or slugging when your perks and items make it honestly really really annoying to deal with half the time. Its insane that I primarily run Gen regression and Gen Stat Check perks and I STILL struggle to keep survivors at bay with gens and map pressure. That being said, I do actively enjoy the game, and I have fun in majority of my matches even joking around with survivors most of the time, but some games I just don't feel like dealing with certain perks as it just ruins my enjoyment of the match and game overall. More especially to blast mine and decisive strike.

      Hiya! I can see your point from a low hour killer player, survs can be running meta perks and be in SWF its very tough for killer. I agree with you there, I'd say the SWF part is most frustrating cause of comms callouts and teamwork. Turn down or take away some meta builds its not as bad, less pressure.
      Killers should always require game sense, experience, knowledge and teamwork to counter but nowadays perks make up for all of that so its added bull*. Totally get you. Those perks you mention are TOP TIER META and tbh need turning right tf down in all fairness. DISTORTION however, after the 1st 3 stacks, survs will have to "come out the shadows" so to speak to earn more back, so should be easier to find them.
      I stated in the video here that a great way for those distortion hiding players, to gain stacks back it should be IN CHASE ONLY and not just being in terror radius. That way, they have to actually be in your sights and in chase, so.. making it easier for killer. Otherwise I can see it being powerful if the surv isnt helping or refusing to get involved with killer, I however love getting involved its more an info perk for me. Not all players play the same. Hope you find your killer games easier over time and experience!

      @@bbthebeee Hey just hit Iri 2 Today so I'm quite happy about that with 203 Hours Recorded in, tbh the main problem perks I really see being an issue for me rn is Lithe and Windows of Opportunity as its the two most common perks I see every match, I agree that distortion should gain a token during chase and not just while sitting in terror radius. But yeah Lithe while easy to predict is still hard to deal with since its on such a short cd, windows of opportunity is a fantastic information perk for survivors but also doesn't really have a cd so it can be abused from loop to loop if the survivor is playing well enough, fortunately Xeno counters a lot of this so I've been using her more often as of late. SWF is still pretty tough and its kind of RNG whether or not they end up curb stomping me or I end up mopping the floor with them, so I've taken my chances and if I can learn something from the match I try to!, but yeah Survivors definitely need some tuning down, and some Killer perks like Pain Res combined with Grim Embrace need to be also tuned down

    • @bbthebeee
      @bbthebeee  2 месяца назад +1

      @Kiound great feedback here! Honestly for such little hours it's great to see you getting involved and ranking up! Well done! Hope you're finding your fave killers! Mine is Plague. Yes! You'll ALWAYS see Windows & Lithe or Sprint Burst/Dead Hard... basically current meta. You know killer has their own Windows? It's an Oni teachable perk. But I think survs version sees further away. If they turned that down and could only see in a small area like a few tiles not half or all the darn map maybe easier for killer and less OP for surv but still useful.
      Some killers are good in chase whilst others are better at stealth or passive over time. It's finding what works for you. I do hope you're enjoying it though as the game needs more newer ish players and newer opinions. People with thousands of hours just get fed up and find it harder to adapt to big changes. But yeah I think some perks need turning down. Grim embrace and pain res is still meta for killer atm along with aura reads. But it is what it is. I'm hoping in future updates they will just adjust all perks so nothing is overpowered or could be extra OP matched with others. 😊

    "All these perks and add ons" and a single perk that takes no skill counters all of them.
    "Survivors will forget where they dropped their items".. right? So pay attention.

    • @bbthebeee
      @bbthebeee  2 месяца назад

      I disagree, Distortion does take some skill as you could literally walk into the killer after losing a stack or be easily found with running scratch marks or healing a teammate whos been seen. I think the best way to make it a 50/50 would be to only regain tokens after the 1st 3 to be IN CHASE with the killer. Should make it soooo much easier both sides.
      Survs dropping items due to both Franklins and Weave isn't down to them relying on everyone to "pay attention" as you say and Distortion can let you know in the area of 12m or whatever that an item is there and for them to help their team and pick it up again or move it to a non used area of the map.
      That takes more skill/experience and when you're in chase and that happens, not everyone remembers where they dropped something and going to pick it back up if you do without Distortion will just show the killer permanent wall hacks in that area anyway sooo... Yeah I wish all players were fully paying attention but also a lot of players just want to have fun and not sweat or try hard or take it too seriously. Some like the thrill of the hunt and chase.
