Hello, Very nice explanation, I was looking for that delay/ slight hesitation in split step when you are expecting the shot back from opponent. You demonstrated it very well in your video. Many thanks for the tutorial on footwork :)
i'm confused, when you want to move on to the forehand front side, isn't your non-racket leg supposed to stay back ? All of the tutorial online (including from professional) do it that way ...
Hi Sameer Thanks for this video. I was looking for something just like this. :) I have a question though. You explain which kind of split step to do for movement to each of the four corners. But given that the split is usually done just before the opponent strikes the shuttle, how do I know which split step to do? For example, I might do the straight split step to move to my forehand front court when the opponent is about to play it to my forehand back court. Then my positioning is a little compromised. What would you suggest?
Hey! Glad you found the video helpful ☺️ That’s a great question you ask! The directional split step usually takes place when you’re able to guess the right shot from your opponent. In case you do a wide split step thinking that the shuttle will come front but then it comes back, then there is a crossover footwork which is involved! Maybe I will do a video just for this topic ☺️ Hope this video at least helps in getting your rhythm right on the court. Will get into the implementation part soon 👍🏻
