Thank you for this lovely video! I’m out on the west coast so I never got to see or ride the TTC. I finally saved up enough to fly to Toronto and Montreal and were blown away by their respective subway networks. Toronto’s was definitely a favorite due to how urban the network is and of course the rolling stock. Thank you for this fantastic video!
@@Kitsune9063 exactly the siemens p2000, the kinkisharyo slrv from dart the r110a which he mentioned and this bombardier t1 subway car has the AEG GTO VVVF inverters😇😇
I remember seeing those old trains on the Mighty Machines episode "Buses, Subways, and Trains", and am blown away by the fact they're still in service...
Hi DJ Hammers, I was in Toronto 2 weeks ago. But I rode the Sheppard-Yonge 1 line. I rhode it to King and Toronto Union Station. It is very different from the subway. I noticed the rolling has an open-gangway just like the R211Ts!
The TTC Bombardier T1's was built right between 1995-2001, I love T1's b/c they're my blood and that's how those T1 trains actually defined Toronto in the TTC Subway System
I'm wondering why the line is called Bloor-Danforth when the termini are Kipling and Kennedy; Bloor is in the middle and Danforth isn't a station! Maybe it makes sense to locals...
So you decided to come to Toronto to film trains? Wow. I feel bad for you. I like your videos and all...but I think coming to Toronto at a time the TTC is at its lowest point was a mistake. Im really sorry you didn't get to ride Line 3 before it closed down. I'm really sorry you didn't get to ride Line 5 and 6. In Toronto (and I guess North America in general), transit takes to long to open with delays lasting over a decade and more. Im sorry about the slow speed zones in our subway system. Im sorry about our mediocre streetcar system. Im sorry about the traffic. Im sorry about everything. You shouldn't have come. You should have just waited a couple of years or so.
Back when i lived in Toronto i much rather liked riding the H5s hearing that buzz of the traction motors on line 1 and H6s.... I dislike these T1s awful design
Their old but the reason why their in service is cause of the reliability. Although their age is showing these workhorses have had very little to no issues. They are due for replacement next year.

Sounds like an R110A
...It literally has the same motors

By the way just correcting you line 1 is the yonge university Spadina not the sheppard Yonge
@@Lucabnt thanks! I’ll remember that!

Great railfanning in Toronto, the city I live in!!
Glad you enjoyed!
I’m going up there next week and want to capture those trains. I’d like to try to do a cab ride.
You can't. The front is blocked off nowadays since COVID
@ I never made it up there anyway. Best laid plans of mice and men.

Hello DJ! You visit Canada Toronto Cool! Take Care
Nice video! I've ridden this subway line many years ago. Very enjoyable journey. 👌😀👍
Welcome to Canada in Toronto
I am facinated by subway tunnels. Does anyone know if the NYC subway has the only tunnels with 2 levels of trains?
In some parts of the subway they do lol
DJ is COOKING! 👨🍳 And Cooking! 👨🔬
les go ttc with r110a type
Yess! The TTC!
I'm wondering why the line is called Bloor-Danforth when the termini are Kipling and Kennedy; Bloor is in the middle and Danforth isn't a station! Maybe it makes sense to locals...
It’s called that because it runs along Bloor St and Danforth Ave for almost its entire route
You should do line 1 it has a different newer rolling stock
Such old looking exterior design spec for 1991 built cars.
it is actually 1997 cars
Design dates back to the 1962 MLW and 1965 H-1.
New York and Moscow subways the best!
Torontos subway signals are literally NYC subway signals 😂
That 2 Looks Like The MTA 2 Also Why Does It Sound Like R110A
Same motor and same font
These are the same length as the R46 they sound similar.
The only difference is that the T1 has 6 cars
Looks like an R42
What are the barriers between the tracks for? Seen at 4:00 and elsewhere. Thanks
It’s a refuge cage for track workers to get in when a train arrives at the station
Didn’t know they were still using old rolling stock from the 80s… also didn’t know they used BART horns as well… Cool!
The trains are from the late 90s/early 2000s
1995 onwards
3:14 cursed chime
Those riveted aluminum (i think) trains are bizarre-looking.

Toronto subway is amazing but not without Line 3, 5 and 6.

Toronto subway is poo poo compared to the New York City Subway
Very old cars… bad subways(
