I think another important difference between the Kaldheim pantheon and others is *what* they are at their core. The Amonkhet gods are intense weaves of mana leylines brought into existence by the needs and beliefs of its people, and later rewritten and manipulated by Nicol Bolas. I think the fact that the Theran gods' power is tied directly to their worship, and one can even "die" should all worship cease, I think its safe to say that they are built the same as those on Amonkhet. But like you said, the Kaldheim gods are mortals ascended to divinity, or are the child of one such. They would therefore not be comprised of pure mana such as angels and other gods. I think this is also exactly why they lack indestructible.

Kaldheim storyline spoiler* we know Vorinclex mauled Esika, she isnt confirmed dead but she is dying so if she does pass and she's the only one able to supply the other gods with their divinity then their immortality and power could cease and throw Kaldheim in an apocalyptical power struggle, the runes that bind the demons in Immersturm are lifted and the old elf gods sealed in the Jaspera trees could be freed.
Funny thing is that despite the gods on Kaldheim being the only gods not to have some form of indestructibility or recursion, they are also the only ones we have so far not seen being killed.
Esika and Tegrid for me. Esika is just pure joy. Tegrid because she catches flies in her mouth, tasting freedom while she does, then crawling back, to the top, top of the stairs (of the stairs).
@@danielbretado7660 Esika is precious! Birgi tho... She bullshits, and that's urgh..! Also, she started the fight between two human clans in Niko's debut story, without much of a reason to it.
I like Halvar, Esika, Tegrid, Cosima and Kolvori. I think they’re all pretty neat and if we ever return to Kaldheim I think they’re gonna have some bigger roles considering what happened by the end of the story
Favorite god would probably have to be Erebos or Hazoret. They seem pretty chill. But I think Rhonas had, or maybe has potential. He was killed by the Blackblade which absorbed his soul. And then the Blackblade was destroyed. Maybe we could see him reincarnated?
Was wanting to make a modern god deck that featured a god or 2 from each of the pantheons, something like that, but then i saw they lacked indestructable, so i started looking at what they actually do, and i found 2 that fit in pretty heavy for a burn deck i have, the overall goal of the deck is just to have a timer on the field becuase we only have an hour to play, so the deck is built to have 1-16 damage happen each turn

I love the benevolent gods of MTG. I like the idea of a strong champion that encourages you to be your best. Like Iroas, Hazoret, Halvar, etc.
YES!
Cosima, can never have enough sea gods. Plus how often does a card give you a reason to start singing, "My mother told me" from History's Vikings.
I really wish we could learn about the aenir.
Phyrexian Gods would be...interesting 😜
I will be the first bow to compleation. Let me infect the multiverse with the greatness of Phyrexia.
I would argue the Praetors are stronger than the Gods of Kaldhiem.

I really like Tergrid, Birgi, and Toralf. They seem like fun people.
People often fall dead around Tergrid... no one likes to speak about it, especially her. Definitely the least fun person to chill with.

Birgi really does embody a little sister so perfectly.

I'm loving Esika. She's my newest commander. Though I love all the lore associated with the gods of kaldheim
Alrund, Toralf, Cosima, Tergrid and Esika....so many to like!
Funny thing is that despite the gods on Kaldheim being the only gods not to have some form of indestructibility or recursion, they are also the only ones we have so far not seen being killed.
they should have made kaldheim a three/two sets block...
I’m interested in seeing the Aenir in future sets. If we learned anything from Theros, the gods are neat, but the older “gods” are freakin sweet.
Tergrid versus the Phrexraetors could be pretty cool showdown
Esika and Tegrid for me.
Esika is just pure joy.
Tegrid because she catches flies in her mouth, tasting freedom while she does, then crawling back, to the top, top of the stairs (of the stairs).
As with their Norse counterparts, I'm a fan or Toralf, Aldrun, and Halvar.
@Jack Napier yeah im super intrested in learning more about Valki
I like Esika! She looks so happy in her art! 😅
I agree. Bergi's and Esika's arts are great. And they appear to be really nice too.

Jorn seems like a cool God, and also finally a snow commander.

Tergrid is pretty bad ass, living with a monster shadow behind her all the time.
Thank you for pronouncing Jorn correctly! It's a Norse set, and so many say his name with the "J" pronounced

My favorite Theros God is Athreos. Favorite Amunket is Scarab God. Favorite Eternal God is Bontu. Favorite Kaldheim is probably Toralf
Incase yall are wondering, this storyline is based on Norse Mythology / Norse paganism :)
Yay!!!
But like...yeah...Alrund has #daddy energy

Alrund is a furry confirmed
I like Tergrid, Birgi, Egon. Related to Tergrid
Can we plz get new background music
tergrid is badass

My Sisay deck is god tribal. Not optimized at all but it's fun to play each Norse, Egyptian, Greek and Ravnican god in one deck.
