Anyone else here after reading John Stamos autobiogrpahy? When he describes how he struggles with this scene, it is heart wrenching. Watching this brings tears to my eyes!
Stamos isn't the absolute best emcee (Joel grey, Alan cumming, and Raul esparza are my favorites) but he REALLY nailed this song. The humor, the unique vocal inflections, and I love the tone he chose for the emcee, it's a bit brighter than most actors do. I'm surprised by how much I like his performance
Next to Alan Cumming, this is the best version I've come across. But Alan will always win by a wide margin. He's the only one who can really embody the Emcee to me. He's fantastic.
as good as he is, he just falls short of the darkness needed to make it work. this doesn't mean i wouldn't pay good money to see him in this show live.
Wow! He really delivers the last line, and that's personally a very big selling point for me when I look at my fave emcee. stamos delivers the feeling behind this better than michael c hall or raul esparza imo... he really exceeds my expectations in everything I see of him in this role. No one beats alan, of course, but I like michael and john are the next best
EMCEE: I know what you're thinking, You wonder why I chose her Out of all the ladies in the world. That's just a first impression? What good's a first impression? If you knew her like I do, It would change your point of view. If you could see her through my eyes, You wouldn't wonder at all. If you could see her through my eyes, I guarantee you would fall like I did. When we're in public together, I hear society groan. But if they could see her through my eyes, Maybe they'd leave us alone. How can I speak of her virtues? I don't know where to begin: She's clever, she's smart, she reads music, She doesn't smoke or drink gin like I do. Yet when we're walking together, They sneer if I'm holding her hand. But if they could see her through my eyes, Maybe they'd all understand. (They waltz) Why don't they leave us alone? (Spoken) Meine Damen und Herren, mesdames et messieurs, ladies and gentlemen. Is it a crime to fall in love? Can we ever tell where the heart truly leads us? All we are asking is ein bischen verstandnis-a little understanding. Why can't the world "Leben und Leben lassen"-"Live and Let live?" (Sung) I understand your objection, I grant you the problem's not small. But if you could see her through my eyes, She wouldn't look Jewish at all!

it's almost joker-ish.
I’ll never get over Alan Cumming’s version but I have to give it to him, Stamos did this song really well.
His is my favorite If You Could See Her. He's not my favorite Emcee, but this this definitely amazing.

Horrible in this role
